Daxton Hill CIN DBBengals' Dax Hill: Operating as cornerback in 2024
2h agoHill is expected to be a part of the Bengals' cornerback room in 2024, Jay Morrison of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.
Hill spent his sophomore campaign operating as a starting safety for the Bengals, recording 110 tackles, including 1.5 sacks, while also intercepting two passes and deflecting 11 others over 17 contests. Head coach Zac Taylor said Sunday that Hill will "be in the cornerback room" this year, which could mean a position change is in store. The team signed former Raven Geno Stone this offseason and could replace Hill at safety in 2024.

Michael Wiley 2005 RBMichael Wiley: Signing with Washington
2h agoWiley (thumb) is slated to sign with the Commanders as an undrafted free agent Sunday, Ben Standig of The Athletic reports.
Wiley wasn't selected during the 2024 NFL Draft but will have a chance to compete for a role with Washington during offseason activities. He sustained a thumb injury during the Senior Bowl in March, and it's unclear when he'll be back to full health.

3h agoJanke is slated to sign with the Texans as an unrestricted free agent Sunday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 reports.
Janke showed improvement over each of his four seasons at South Dakota State, and he tallied 57 receptions for 946 yards and 10 touchdowns while rushing twice for 11 yards and a touchdown in 2023. He'll attempt to make his mark during offseason activities with Houston.

3h agoBecton and the Eagles have agreed on a one-year, $5.5 million contract, pending a physical Monday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Becton appears to be set to join the Eagles after starting 16 games with the Jets in 2023. The offensive tackle has dealt with multiple significant lower-body injuries in his four-year NFL career, limiting his time on the field, and he'll look to carve out a consistent role with Philadelphia.

Steele began his collegiate career by playing two seasons at Ball State, but he joined UCLA for the 2023 campaign. His production declined with the Bruins, but he still rushed 167 times for 847 yards and six touchdowns while tallying 17 receptions for 163 yards and two touchdowns during his year at UCLA. He'll now spend time with Kansas City during offseason activities.

Reid Detmers LAA SPAngels' Reid Detmers: Stumbles again Sunday
4m agoDetmers (3-2) yielded five runs on nine hits over five innings Sunday, striking out three and taking a loss against the Twins.
Detmers fired three perfect innings before the Twins broke the scoreless tie in the fourth inning. He ran into more trouble in the fifth, coughing up four runs on five hits. After an incredible start to his season in which he produced a 30:7 K:BB and 1.19 ERA through four starts, Detmers has taken two straight losses, yielding nine runs in 12 innings. His ERA climbed to 3.12 but he still owns a strong 37:10 K:BB through 34.2 frames. Detmers is projected for a road start in Cleveland next weekend.

Pablo Lopez MIN SPTwins' Pablo Lopez: Earns ugly win
17m agoLopez (2-2) allowed four runs on four hits and a walk in five innings Sunday, striking out eight and picking up a win over the Angels.
Lopez tossed four shutout frames before the Angels caught fire in the fifth inning, plating four runs. Three of those runs came via back-to-back homers by Luis Rengifo and Nolan Schanuel. Lopez forced 13 whiffs after totaling just five in his last outing against the White Sox. Still, he saw his ERA climb to 4.83 through six starts. Lopez is currently in line for a home matchup with Boston next weekend.

Patrick Corbin WAS SPNationals' Patrick Corbin: Lit up during no-decision
18m agoCorbin did not factor into the decision during Sunday's win over the Marlins, allowing seven runs (four earned) on eight hits and two walks over four innings. He struck out four.
Corbin labored through 93 pitches in just four innings, digging his own grave by starting just eight of 22 batters with a first pitch strike. The veteran southpaw shut down a potent Dodgers lineup during his last start but couldn't carry the momentum into this matchup with the Marlins, allowing all seven runs during the first two innings. Following the rough start, Corbin did face the minimum through his final two innings, providing a bit of a silver lining over the bad start and allowing the Nationals an opportunity to come all the way back and secure the victory. Corbin's next start is tentatively scheduled to take place during a home set next weekend against the Blue Jays.

26m agoBauers went 3-for-5 with a three-run home run in Sunday's 15-5 loss to the Yankees.
Bauers look Marcus Stroman deep for a game-tying three-run shot in the bottom of the fifth inning, knotting the game up at 4-4. He also added a double and a single in the contest, securing his second straight multi-hit performance in a game he started. Bauers is now batting .214 with two home runs, 12 RBI, eight runs scored and a stolen base over 56 at-bats in 18 games this season.

40m agoMountcastle went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run during Sunday's 7-6 loss to the Athletics.
Mountcastle had gone just 1-for-12 over his last three games but collected three hits including his fourth homer. Mountcastle's performance lifted his average to .319 with four homers and 14 RBI.

1h agoMcCann went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run during Sunday's 7-6 win over the Orioles.
McCann's second career dinger came off Baltimore closer Craig Kimbrel in the ninth and served as the game-winner. The backup catcher has not seen many opportunities this season, accumulating only 16 at-bats thus far, but has collected two hits and a homer in two of his last three starts.

Turner continued his strong performance in the series against Milwaukee, taking advantage of the absence of Giannis Antetokounmpo (calf) by putting together another well-rounded outing to help Indiana to a commanding 3-1 series lead. Turner led all players in Sunday's contest in threes made while leading the Pacers in scoring, rebounds and blocks in a near double-double showing. Turner has been dominant all series, posting at least 20 points and seven rebounds in three of his four postseason outings.

11m agoHaliburton finished with 24 points (8-16 FG, 5-12 3Pt, 3-3 FT), four rebounds four assists and one steal over 32 minutes in Sunday's 126-113 win over the Bucks in Game 4 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Haliburton followed up his breakout performance in Friday's Game 3 by putting forth another strong outing in Game 4, connecting on a handful of threes while ending as one of two Pacers players with 20 or more points in a winning effort. Haliburton tallied his highest point total of the series against Milwaukee, also connecting on more than three threes for the first time of the playoffs. Look for Haliburton to have another big game in a potential series-clinching Game 5 as he attempts to lead Indiana to the next round.

Pascal Siakam IND PFPacers' Pascal Siakam: Well-rounded showing in Game 4

Siakam has been outstanding for Indiana all series against Milwaukee, posting a well-rounded performance in Sunday's Game 4 while helping the Pacers take a commanding 3-1 series lead. Siakam struggled shooting a bit from the field, but still reached double figures in scoring while ending one rebound and three assists short of a triple-double. Siakam has tallied at least 10 points, eight rebounds and five assists in two games this series, and we should expect him to continue to shine for Indiana in a potential series-clinching Game 5 in Milwaukee.

27m agoBeasley tallied 20 points (8-12 FG, 4-7 3Pt), three rebounds and two assists over 34 minutes in Sunday's 126-113 loss to the Pacers in Game 4 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Beasley entered the starting lineup Sunday with Damian Lillard (Achilles) being added to Milwaukee's inactive list, connecting on a team-high mark from three while ending three points shy of the 20-point mark in a losing effort. Beasley reached double figures in scoring for the first time of the postseason, connecting on at least three threes in two straight outings. If Lillard is unable to return in a win-or-go-home Game 5, look for Beasley to return to the starting lineup or at least have a large role in the rotation for the Bucks.

Lopez has stepped up as the leader in the paint for Milwaukee during the absence of Giannis Antetokounmpo (calf), reaching double figures in all four postseason games while finishing with his highest scoring and rebound marks of the series thus far.

Middleton once again tried to do all he could to help lead the shorthanded Bucks past the Pacers in Game 4, leading all players in Sunday's contest in rebounds while handing out a handful of assists and ending as one of three players with 20 or more points in a losing effort. Expect Middleton to continue to try and lead the Bucks in a win-or-go-home Game 5 in Milwaukee, especially if Giannis Antetokounmpo (calf) and Damian Lillard (Achilles) are unable to return for the elimination game.

Elias Lindholm VAN CCanucks' Elias Lindholm: Completes comeback in overtime
2m agoLindholm scored a goal, dished an assist, added two PIM, logged two hits and blocked three shots in Sunday's 4-3 overtime win over the Predators in Game 4.
Lindholm set up the second of Brock Boeser's three goals in regulation before scoring one of his own just 1:02 into overtime to finish the comeback win. This was Lindholm's first multi-point effort since Feb. 15. The center has three points, three shots on net, 10 hits, five blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating through four playoff appearances while filling a middle-six role.

Brock Boeser VAN RWCanucks' Brock Boeser: Saves Game 4 with hat trick
4m agoBoeser scored three times on eight shots and went plus-2 in Sunday's 4-3 overtime win over the Predators in Game 4.
Boeser opened the scoring just 2:55 into the game, but the Canucks would eventually fall behind 3-1. He tallied twice more in the final three minutes of the third period to force overtime, where Elias Lindholm won it for Vancouver to give the team a 3-1 series lead. Boeser has racked up four goals, one assist, 11 shots on net and a plus-2 rating over four playoff contests while playing in his familiar top-six role.

Canucks' Arturs Silovs: Wins playoff debut
6m agoSilovs stopped 27 of 30 shots in Sunday's 4-3 overtime win over the Predators in Game 3.
Silovs looked on track for the loss, but the Canucks scored twice in the final 2:49 of regulation and then won it 1:02 into overtime. The 23-year-old got the start because Thatcher Demko (knee) and Casey DeSmith (undisclosed) were unavailable. DeSmith's injury is considered minor, so it's possible Silovs could be back in the backup role as soon as Tuesday's Game 5 back in Vancouver.

1h agoBrossoit was thrust into duty Sunday when starter Connor Hellebuyck was pulled at the end of the second period. He made four saves in relief.
After No. 1 netminder Connor Hellebuyck was pulled in the second period after allowing four goals, Brossoit took over between the pipes and turned aside all four shots sent his way. The Avalanche added an empty-netter with only 13 seconds left in the game. This was Brossoit's first appearance in the playoffs. Look for Winnipeg to return to Hellebuyck when they host Colorado on Tuesday.

1h agoLehkonen registered a goal and an assist in the 5-1 playoff win over the Jets on Sunday.
With the Avalanche peppering Connor Hellebuyck in the first period, Lehkonen was able to open the scoring for his fourth goal of round one on the 12th shot of the game. Lehkonen added a primary power-play assist late in the second frame to give Colorado a 4-1 lead. He added one hit, three shots on net, one blocked shot, two PIM and a plus-1 rating in 18:39 of ice time. Including the regular season, Lehkonen is on a six-game point streak, scoring four goals and adding five assists over that span.

Nathan MacKinnon COL CAvalanche's Nathan MacKinnon: Distributes two helpers
