2h agoMary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain-Dealer and Zac Jackson of The Athletic suggest that Tillman is a candidate to take a step forward in his second season as a pro.
Per Cabot, the Browns figure to frequently employ Amari Cooper, Jerry Jeudy and Elijah Moore in three-receiver sets, but Tillman nonetheless should see his share of opportunities as the season progresses, especially if injuries hit the aforementioned trio. As a rookie, the 2023 third-rounder recorded a 21/224/0 receiving line on 44 targets in 14 regular-season games, but if he's able to carve out steadier playing time in 2024, the 6-3, 215-pounder -- who missed Cleveland's wild-card loss to the Texans with a concussion -- could emerge as a solid complementary option alongside the team's top pass-catchers. Also in the mix for snaps in the Browns' WR corps are 2022 third-rounder David Bell and 2024 fifth-rounder Jamari Thrash.

Skowronek, a 2021 seventh-round pick, finished his third season with the Rams with a career-low 66 receiving yards across 17 appearances, while mostly contributing on special teams. The soon-to-be 27-year-old is versatile enough to line up in a variety of roles on offense, so it's a bit of a surprise to see him be cut before training camp. He figures to resurface in a depth role elsewhere in the league.

Allen Robinson PIT WRGiants' Allen Robinson: Seeking rebound with Big Blue
4h agoRobinson signed a contract with the Giants on Thursday, ESPN.com reports.
Robinson was cut by the Steelers earlier this offseason in a move to save salary cap space, and he now gets an opportunity to reignite his career in New York, where there's a need for a big-bodied target for Daniel Jones (knee) while Darren Waller's future remains in flux. Malik Nabers, taken sixth overall in April's draft, figures to dominate the Giants' wide receiver opportunities out of the gate, while Darius Slayton (thumb) and Wan'Dale Robinson seem likely to also start in three-wide sets. Robinson racked up just 34 catches for 280 yards on 49 targets with Pittsburgh last season, despite suiting up for all 17 games, so he's no lock to beat out Jalin Hyatt for the No. 4 role this offseason.

14h agoDavidson (undisclosed) is competing for one of the Bills' final roster spots at tight end this offseason, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports.
Davidson missed the entire 2023 campaign after the Bills placed him on injured reserve last June. The nature of the 25-year-old's injury was never disclosed, though he looks to be past the issue now that he's being viewed as a candidate for a depth role at tight end. Davidson's primary competition for slotting behind Dalton Kincaid and Dawson Knox should come from Tre' McKitty and Quintin Morris.

15h agoVorhees (knee) was an active participant in the Ravens' rookie minicamp last Friday through Monday, Clifton Brown of the team's official site reports.
Vorhees missed his entire rookie season after suffering a torn ACL during the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine. While he has yet to participate in any padded sessions, the 25-year-old appears to be back to full health for this year's rookie minicamp. Baltimore head coach John Harbaugh also said that Vorhees will compete for a starting job at guard during training camp.

16h agoThe Seahawks waived Cordeiro on Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Cordeiro landed with Seattle as an undrafted free agent Friday, but his stint with the organization proved to be short lived. The 24-year-old quarterback out of San Jose State would have likely competed for a spot on the Seahawks' practice squad this offseason, but he'll now look to latch on elsewhere before NFL training camps get underway this summer.

4m agoMountcastle went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 7-6 extra-innings win over the Nationals.
Mountcastle is hitting .226 (7-for-31) over seven games in May, but four of those hits have gone for extra bases. He gave the Orioles a brief lead in the 11th inning of Wednesday's contest. The first baseman is slashing .277/.324/.485 with six long balls, 18 RBI, 20 runs scored, nine doubles and two stolen bases over 142 plate appearances. Mountcastle continues to hit well from the heart of the order in an everyday role.

Red Sox's Johanfran Garcia: Out for season with knee injury
6m agoSingle-A Salem placed Garcia on its full-season injured list Wednesday after he was carted off the field in a May 1 game with a "significant knee injury" that will require surgery, Alex Speier of The Boston Globe reports.
The knee injury is a big setback in the development of Garcia, a 19-year-old catching prospect. Garcia had gotten off to a hot start to the Carolina League season before suffering the injury, slashing .385/.467/.596 with two home runs and five RBI over 60 plate appearances.

Anthony Santander BAL RFOrioles' Anthony Santander: Lifts homer in win
6m agoSantander went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Wednesday's 7-6 extra-innings win over the Nationals.
Santander is hitting just .227 over seven games in May and batting .215 on the year, but he has a homer in two of his last three contests. The outfielder has added a .737 OPS through 35 games this season, though that's still a decent margin behind last year's .797 mark. Santander is up to six homers, 24 RBI, 18 runs scored, nine doubles, one triple and no steals through 147 plate appearances while holding down a starting role in right field.

The Yankees will go with Austin Wells at catcher for the second day in a row after Trevino had caught the previous three contests. The two have shared catching duties pretty close to down the middle this season, with Wells earning 21 starts to Trevino's 18.

Albert Suarez BAL SPOrioles' Albert Suarez: Collects second win
10m agoSuarez (2-0) allowed two runs (one earned) on a hit and a walk while striking out one over two innings to earn the extra-innings win versus the Nationals on Wednesday.
This was Suarez's second outing since he was removed from the rotation following the returns of John Means and Kyle Bradish. Suarez gave up both runs in the 11th inning during Wednesday's game, squandering a two-run lead, but he ended up with the win when the Orioles took the lead for good in the 12th. The right-hander has been a pleasant surprise with a 2.29 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 17:4 K:BB over 19.2 innings this season across five appearances (three starts). Suarez is one of the multi-inning options in the bullpen for the Orioles, but he can also be an option for spot starts if necessary.

14m agoFry went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs scored in Wednesday's 5-4 extra-inning win over the Tigers.
Fry went yard in the ninth inning off Andrew Chafin to tie the game at 4-4. This was Fry's second homer of the season. The versatile 28-year-old is batting .364 (8-for-22) over his last eight games. His ability to catch, play in the corner outfield and fill in at first base gives him multiple paths to playing time, and that versatility figures to be even more important as the Guardians weigh their options for left field with Steven Kwan (hamstring) out for likely four weeks. Fry is slashing .316/.438/.491 with two homers, one stolen base, 10 RBI, 11 runs scored and four doubles over 73 plate appearances.

McBride managed just four points in the win, struggling to find any real rhythm on the offensive end. Although his role has been somewhat limited to this point, OG Anunoby (hamstring) going down could open up an interesting opportunity. Should Anunoby be forced to miss time, look for McBride to potentially slide into the starting lineup for Game 3.

13h agoBurks closed Wednesday's 130-121 victory over the Pacers in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals with zero points (0-1 FG) in one minute.
Burks dusted himself off Wednesday, leaving the bench for the first time this postseason. Jalen Brunson was forced to the locker room during the second quarter, affording one minute of playing time to Burks. Given Brunson was able to return to the game, it is unlikely we see Burks again anytime soon.

13h agoHartenstein contributed 14 points (5-7 FG, 4-4 FT), 12 rebounds, eight assists and one block over 39 minutes during Wednesday's 130-121 victory over the Pacers in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Hartenstein continues to impress for the Knicks, falling two assists short of a triple-double. With Mitchell Robinson (ankle) likely out for the remainder of the postseason, Hartenstein should be in line for heavy minutes moving forward. It's been a breakout season for Hartenstein, one that should have him well-placed to receive a sizeable upgrade when it comes time to discuss his future contract.

13h agoSheppard chipped in 11 points (4-6 FG, 3-4 3Pt) and one assist over 20 minutes during Wednesday's 130-121 loss to New York in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Sheppard continues to play meaningful minutes for the Pacers, connecting on three triples en route to 11 points. While the Pacers ended with six players logging double-digit scoring, it was still not enough to get over the hump in front of a vocal New York crowd. Sheppard should continue to serve as a three-point threat off the bench.

Haliburton finally found some rhythm on the offensive end, putting up a game-high 34 points, including seven triples. Although the Pacers managed to put up a respectable total, their defense simply wasn't up to the task of slowing down the Knicks. With the series now shifting to Indiana, Haliburton will look to build on this performance in the hopes of keeping the series alive.

Nesmith managed just six points in the loss, continuing his disappointing postseason. While he does provide the Pacers with a reliable defensive asset, his inability to score on a consistent basis remains a concern. The series will now head to Indiana, where the Pacers will look to secure their first win.

Brett Pesce CAR DHurricanes' Brett Pesce: Out indefinitely
3m agoPesce (lower body) has yet to resume skating and is out indefinitely as a result, Chip Alexander of The Raleigh News & Observer reports Thursday.
Pesce didn't make the trip with the team to New York and could now be in danger of missing the remainder of the best-of-seven series with the Rangers. Without Pesce in the squad, Tony DeAngelo figures to see the biggest uptick in ice time, including minutes with the man advantage. Prior to getting hurt, Pesce was stuck in a 38-game goal drought during which he notched just seven helpers, so fantasy players shouldn't be expecting a ton of offensive output from the defenseman even once cleared to play.

Georgiev is riding a five-game winning streak during which he posted a 2.12 GAA and .921 save percentage. Even when the 28-year-old backstop stumbled in Game 1 of the first-round matchup with Winnipeg, coach Jared Bednar has stuck with Georgiev and likely would continue to do so if there is another stumble. As such, fantasy players shouldn't expect to see Justus Annunen anytime soon.

Stasney missed the last three games of the Predators' first-round series loss to Vancouver due to an upper-body injury, but his demotion to the minors suggests he's now healthy. The 24-year-old defender picked up four points through 20 top-level appearances during the regular season.

Kochetkov will make his first appearance in goal for the Canes since April 14 against the Blackhawks, a stretch of eight games on the bench. While the team did split the workload between the 24-year-old backstop and Frederik Andersen down the stretch, if Kochetkov does secure a Game 3 win, he should probably be considered a lock to start Game 4 as well.

Bennett practiced with the extras Thursday, and if he's able to get on the ice with the main squad for Friday's morning skate, there's a chance he'll be available for Game 3. Bennett picked up two points through the first two games of the Panthers' first-round series versus Tampa Bay before suffering his upper-body injury.
