Ro Torrence 2005 CB
Seahawks' Ro Torrence: Lands with Seahawks
16h agoSeattle signed Torrence to a contract Friday, Howard Balzer of GoPHNX.com reports.
Torrence wasn't selected in the NFL Draft in late April but will get a shot to make his case for a roster or practice-squad spot after signing with the Seahawks. The 6-foot-3 defensive back played the final two seasons of college with Arizona State and totaled 37 tackles (including 2.0 sacks) along with an interception in 2023. Torrence allowed just 20 receptions in coverage last season, the lowest total among Pac-12 cornerbacks with at least 300 snaps played in coverage during the regular season.

Kitan Oladapo GB SAF
Packers' Kitan Oladapo: Undergoes toe surgery
18h agoOladapo (toe) has undergone surgery and is not expected to be ready for OTAs, Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Although he will miss OTAs, the team remains optimistic that Clark will be ready for training camp. He suffered a stress fracture doing drills on the turf at the NFL combine. The rookie was the third safety selected by the Packers in the 2024 NFL Draft, following Xavier McKinney and Anthony Johnson. The Oregon State product will need to get his health back to bar in order to make an impression during training camp.

Le'Raven Clark PHI OT
Eagles' Le'Raven Clark: Placed on IR
18h agoThe Eagles placed Clark on injured reserve Friday.
It is unclear what Clark's injury is or how he sustained it, but he is a rare offseason addition to IR. This will allow the Eagles' some roster flexibility going forward. The journeyman failed to make a roster or practice squad during the 2023 season, but will look to bounce back once his health is back up to par.
-
Tyler Harrell 2005 WR
Jets' Tyler Harrell: Joins Jets
18h agoThe Jets signed Harrell on Friday, Ethan Greenberg and John Pullano of the team's official site report.
Harrell totaled four receptions for 45 yards as a sixth-year senior at Miami in 2023. The Jets are thin at wide receiver going into 2024, so he could be in the competition for the last few spots on their final depth chart.
-
Shi Smith KC WR
Shi Smith: Done in Kansas City
18h agoThe Chiefs waived Smith on Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Smith did not appear in a regular-season game in 2023, and now Kansas City has decided to let him go ahead of 2024. He'll have to look for his next opportunity with a different squad.
-
Anthony Miller KC WR
Anthony Miller: Let go by Chiefs
18h agoKansas City released Miller on Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Miller initially signed with the Chiefs back in January, but after using both free agency and the draft to add depth at wide receiver, Kansas City has now chosen to part ways with him. He hasn't appeared in a regular-season game since 2021.
-
Jose Caballero TB SS
Rays' Jose Caballero: On base three times
2m agoCaballero went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and a walk Friday against the Mets.
Caballero collected a pair of hits for the second consecutive game and also drew his first walk in 12 starts. He also remains busy on the basepaths, though he was caught stealing for the fifth time in 14 attempts on the campaign. Caballero hasn't offered much power across 113 plate appearances, but he does have 14 runs scored and 12 RBI.
-
Hunter Renfroe KC RF
Royals' Hunter Renfroe: Homers in Friday's win
2m agoRenfroe went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Friday's 7-1 win over the Rangers.
Renfroe has struggled to get his bat going -- he's 3-for-27 (.111) over his last 10 games. The outfielder has started to lose playing time to Adam Frazier, who was squeezed out of a full-time role at second base when Michael Massey returned from a back injury. Renfroe is slashing a poor .155/.228/.298 with three homers, 11 RBI, eight runs scored and three doubles over 92 plate appearances, so he'll need to put together better performances to continue playing regularly.
-
Dylan Carlson STL CF
Cardinals' Dylan Carlson: With Cardinals on Saturday
4m agoCardinals manager Oliver Marmol said Carlson (shoulder) will take part in various drills before Saturday's game against the White Sox, John Denton of MLB.com reports.
Carlson was set to play for Triple-A Memphis over the weekend against Charlotte, but with the weekend games threatened by rain, the 25-year-old is with the big club instead. Carlson has played four games with Memphis in his rehab assignment, going 3-for-11 with a solo home run and three walks. He'll take fly balls, run bases and mimic right-handed at-bats in a cage Saturday, but he won't be activated.
-
Harold Ramirez TB DH
Rays' Harold Ramirez: Tallies three hits
8m agoRamirez went 3-for-5 with a run scored Friday against the Mets.
Ramirez has started to see his playing time slip with righties on the mound, but he hit third in the order with lefty Jose Quintana starting for the Mets. Ramirez took advantage of the opportunity by recording multiple hits for the third time in his last 15 starts. Ramirez has only one home run across 115 plate appearances for the season, but he does 13 runs scored and 10 RBI.
-
Lawrence Butler OAK RF
Athletics' Lawrence Butler: Idle against southpaw
10m agoButler isn't in the Athletics' lineup for Saturday's game versus Miami.
The Marlins will send left-hander Trevor Rogers to the mound for the beginning of Saturday's contest, meaning the lefty-hitting Butler will be forced to step out of the lineup. Tyler Nevin will fill the opening in right field, batting second.
-
Seth Brown OAK LF
Athletics' Seth Brown: Sitting again versus lefty
12m agoBrown isn't in the Athletics' lineup for Saturday's game against the Marlins.
Brown will take a seat Saturday as the A's prepare to face a left-handed starter for the second game in a row. He will be replaced in left field by Esteury Ruiz, who will lead off Oakland's lineup.

Kyrie Irving DAL PG
Mavericks' Kyrie Irving: Carries Mavericks to Game 6 win
3h agoIrving provided 30 points (11-19 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 3-5 FT), six rebounds, four assists, two blocks and two steals across 42 minutes during Friday's 114-101 victory over the Clippers in Game 6 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
Irving led the Mavericks on offense and was a consistent weapon alongside Luka Doncic, reaching the 30-point mark in three of the six outings in the first-round series against the Clippers. He should continue to play a prominent role on offense for Dallas ahead of the Western Conference Semifinals against the Thunder.
-
Dereck Lively II DAL C
Mavericks' Dereck Lively: Close to double-double in Game 6
4h agoLively supplied 10 points (3-3 FG, 4-8 FT), nine rebounds, three assists and one steal across 24 minutes during Friday's 114-101 victory over the Clippers in Game 6 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
Lively was perfect from the field, active on the glass and efficient in limited minutes out there. The rookie has shown he can be a valuable contributor on both ends of the court when called upon duty, but his fantasy upside won't be high if he continues to play off the bench.
-
Luka Doncic DAL PG
Mavericks' Luka Doncic: Shines in series-clinching win
4h agoDoncic accumulated 28 points (9-26 FG, 1-10 3Pt, 9-11 FT), seven rebounds, 13 assists, one block and one steal in 43 minutes during Friday's 114-101 win over the Clippers in Game 6 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
Kyrie Irving led the way for the Mavericks on offense, and Doncic didn't have his most efficient display, but he filled the stat sheet admirably and finished just three rebounds away from a triple-double. The fact that he surpassed the 25-point mark in all but one of the six games in the series against the Clippers shows how dominant Doncic can be on offense, and the numbers don't lie, as he averaged 29.8 points, 9.5 assists and 8.8 rebounds per game in the first round, posting four double-doubles and one triple-double in the process.
-
Ivica Zubac LAC C
Clippers' Ivica Zubac: Double-doubles in playoff exit
4h agoZubac produced 17 points (6-11 FG, 5-8 FT), 11 rebounds and one assist in 37 minutes during Friday's 114-101 loss to the Mavericks in Game 6 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
The Clippers needed someone to step up with Kawhi Leonard (knee) sidelined in Game 6, and Ivica Zubac did what he could on both ends of the court. He finished the series with three double-doubles in six outings and scored in double digits each time while shooting a robust 60 percent from the field. Zubac isn't flashy and is not one of the most athletic big men in the league, but he gets the job done. He also averaged 11.7 points and 9.2 boards per contest during the regular season.
-
Paul George LAC SF
Clippers' Paul George: Scores 18 points in Game 6 defeat
4h agoGeorge amassed 18 points (6-18 FG, 2-10 3Pt, 4-4 FT), 11 rebounds, five assists, one block and one steal over 42 minutes during Friday's 114-101 loss to the Mavericks in Game 6 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
George was asked to carry the Clippers offensively in the absence of Kawhi Leonard (knee), but he ended the series on a sour note, as he couldn't reach the 20-point mark in three of his last four appearances. In fact, George surpassed the 22-point mark just once in the six contests against the Mavericks, and his numbers throughout the series were disappointing. He averaged 19.5 points, 6.8 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game while shooting 41.1 percent from the field and 36.7 percent from three-point range. Those were a clear decline compared to his regular-season figures, and it might be fair to wonder if the Clippers are going to bring him back for 2024-25, or if they might look at potential trade options during the offseason.
-
James Harden LAC PG
Clippers' James Harden: Poor shooting in season-ending loss
4h agoHarden finished with 16 points (5-16 FG, 0-6 3Pt, 6-7 FT), seven rebounds, 13 assists, one block and two steals over 43 minutes during Friday's 114-101 loss to Dallas in Game 6 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
Harden was one of the players the Clippers needed to step up with Kawhi Leonard (knee) sidelined, and the veteran guard couldn't come through when the team needed him the most. He was particularly woeful in the final two games of the series, where he went 7-for-28 from the field and 1-for-13 from three-point range. He averaged 21.2 points and 8.0 assists per game in the series, but the numbers don't tell the whole story here, as the Clippers needed -- and expected -- more out of him, but he couldn't deliver when called upon duty.
-
Brett Pesce CAR D
Hurricanes' Brett Pesce: Not traveling to New York
14m agoPesce (lower body) won't travel with the Hurricanes ahead of Game 1 against the Rangers on Sunday, ruling him out for the first two games of the series, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports.
Pesce missed the final three games of Carolina's opening-round series after suffering a lower-body injury in Game 2 against the Islanders. The 29-year-old blueliner has one assist in two playoff games after tallying three goals and 13 points in 70 regular-season contests. Tony DeAngelo will likely remain on the Hurricanes' second pairing until Pesce can return.
-
Auston Matthews TOR C
Maple Leafs' Auston Matthews: Skating Saturday
41m agoMatthews (illness) skated at practice, though his status remains unclear for Saturday's Game 7 against the Bruins, Mike Zeisberger of NHL.com reports.
It's the first time Matthews has practiced since he left Game 4 with an illness. He has missed the next two games of the series. Getting Matthews back would be a massive boost for the Leafs in Game 7, though it appears he'll remain a game-time decision for now.
-
Bobby McMann TOR C
Maple Leafs' Bobby McMann: Not playing Saturday
1h agoMcMann (lower body) will not be in the lineup for Game 7 in Boston on Saturday, according to Joshua Kloke of The Athletic.
The good news is that McMann is getting closer after participating in Saturday's morning skate. The 27-year-old winger will miss his ninth straight game, but he could return in time for the start of Round 2 -- should Toronto advance past Boston. McMann had 15 goals, nine assists and 117 hits across 56 regular-season games in 2023-24.
-
Raphael Lavoie EDM C
Oilers' Raphael Lavoie: Summoned from AHL
1h agoLavoie, Lane Pederson, Adam Erne, Cam Dineen, Benjamin Gleason, Philip Kemp and Olivier Rodrigue were recalled from AHL Bakersfield on Saturday.
Following the Condors' elimination from the AHL playoffs, the seven call-ups will be depth players during the Oilers' postseason run. Lavoie didn't earn a point in seven NHL regular-season games during the 2023-24 campaign.
-
Kevin Gravel NSH D
Predators' Kevin Gravel: Returns to Milwaukee
2h agoGravel was reassigned to AHL Milwaukee on Saturday.
With Nashville eliminated from postseason contention, Gravel will return to AHL Milwaukee for their playoff run. The 32-year-old defenseman last played in the NHL in the 2022-23 season, where he logged one assist in 23 games.
-
Juuso Parssinen NSH C
Predators' Juuso Parssinen: Returned to AHL affiliate
2h agoParssinen was reassigned to AHL Milwaukee on Saturday.
Parssinen was in the lineup Friday in Nashville's 1-0 loss to Vancouver in Game 6. The defeat eliminated the Predators from the postseason, so the 23-year-old forward will get to play in the AHL playoffs instead. In 44 regular-season games for the Predators in 2023-24, Parssinen had eight goals and four assists. Look for him to suit up as a middle-six forward for Nashville's next campaign.
