Shane Lemieux NYG OG
Saints' Shane Lemieux: Joining up with Saints
25m agoNew Orleans signed Lemieux on Monday, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.
The Giants opted not to hold on to Lemieux after the termination of his rookie contract, but he's now found another chance with the Saints. He's set to compete for a roster spot among an offensive line that underwhelmed in 2023.

Matt Hembrough ARI LS
Matt Hembrough: Done with Cards
31m agoArizona waived Hembrough on Monday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
In a corresponding move, Arizona signed rookie free agent long snapper Joe Shimko. Hembrough will now have to look for his next opportunity with a new team after spending his entire rookie season on the injured reserve list.
-
Griffin Hebert PHI WR
Griffin Hebert: Gets let go
41m agoHebert was waived by the Eagles on Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Hebert joined Philadelphia's practice squad late last season and turned that into a reserve/future contract with the team in January. However, the Lousiana Product's time with the team will come to an end for now, and he'll have the chance to pursue new opportunities.

Kyle Pitts ATL TE
Falcons' Kyle Pitts: Has 2025 option exercised
1h agoThe Falcons exercised Pitts' 2025 fifth-year option, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
It's a no-brainer move for the Falcons, even if Pitts, the No. 8 overall pick of the 2021 Draft, is coming off back-to-back disappointing seasons after going over 1,000 yards as a rookie. The hope in Atlanta is that the acquisition of Kirk Cousins coupled with the new coaching staff can help maximize Pitts' abilities. Pitts' figures to be a popular 2024 rebound candidate in both real life and fantasy football.

Chase Brown CIN RB
Bengals' Chase Brown: Looks set for No. 2 role
1h agoBrown appears primed to work as the top backup to Zack Moss following the 2024 NFL Draft, Paul Dehner of The Athletic reports.
The Bengals didn't select a single running back across 10 picks in this year's draft, so even if the team brings in a handful of talented UDFAs, Brown looks like a notable winner for fantasy purposes. He flashed across 12 appearances as a rookie last season, and while Moss' experience with a large workload and on third downs may make him the favorite for the No. 1 role, Brown's short-area burst could make him an effective complementary option. If Brown can put together a solid offseason and push for increased touches, he could be an interesting late-round sleeper in 2024 drafts.
-
Zack Moss CIN RB
Bengals' Zack Moss: Looks secure as lead back
2h agoMoss retains his position atop the Bengals' backfield depth chart following the 2024 NFL Draft, Paul Dehner of The Athletic reports.
Moss inked with Cincinnati as a free agent back in March, and though the team will certainly add some UDFAs to the mix, he has to be considered a huge winner for fantasy after the Bengals opted not to spend a single draft pick on the running back position. Coming off a breakout season with the Colts, Moss looks primed for a high-volume role considering his experience between the tackles and on third downs, while Chase Brown could act as a more explosive complement out of the backfield. Both could be intriguing fantasy sleepers in 2024 drafts.

Kyle Hendricks CHC SP
Cubs' Kyle Hendricks: Could start rehab assignment soon
2m agoCubs manager Craig Counsell said Monday that they are targeting a rehab start for Hendricks (back) "later this week," Maddie Lee of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Hendricks posted a 12.00 ERA and 2.10 WHIP over five starts this season before landing on the 15-day IL on April 23 due to a lower-back strain. He had a bullpen session during the Cubs' weekend series against the Red Sox, and the right-hander could be on track to start his rehab assignment this week.

Matt Carpenter STL DH
Cardinals' Matt Carpenter: Nearing rehab assignment
5m agoCarpenter (oblique) could begin a rehab assignment as soon as Thursday, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Carpenter has progressed well since being given an injection for his right oblique strain a week ago, having taken a couple rounds of batting practice without issue. It sounds like he might be ready for activation within the next week or so.

Nolan Schanuel LAA 1B
Angels' Nolan Schanuel: Out of lineup Monday
8m agoSchanuel isn't in the starting lineup for Monday's matchup versus Philadelphia, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
Schanuel went 2-for-3 with a solo home run Sunday in a loss to the Twins, but he'll head to the bench Monday while Brandon Drury gets a start at first base. This will be Schanuel's first time out of the starting lineup since April 19.

Tommy Edman STL 2B
Cardinals' Tommy Edman: Tee work from both sides of plate
10m agoEdman (wrist) took swings off a tee from both sides of the plate last week, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Edman had been limited to hitting only from the right side due to lingering concerns about his surgically repaired right wrist. However, he's now progressed to hitting from both sides of the dish and has done so without any soreness. Edman will continue a hitting progression as tolerated and appears far off from a return, but he's progressing.
-
Harold Ramirez TB DH
Rays' Harold Ramirez: Gets Monday off
11m agoRamirez is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Brewers.
Ramirez will take a seat for the second time in three days while Yandy Diaz gets a day off at first base and serves as the Rays' designated hitter after he recently returned from a left pinkie finger injury. Though Ramirez still appears to be the Rays' top option on the depth chart at DH for the time being, he'll be at risk of moving a short-side platoon role once Jonathan Aranda (finger) is activated from the 10-day injured list.
-
Curtis Mead TB 2B
Rays' Curtis Mead: Hits bench Monday
14m agoMead is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Brewers.
Mead had started at second or third base in each of the past 11 games, producing only two extra-base hits while getting on base at a .238 clip over that stretch. Though the 23-year-old remains one of the Rays' top prospects, he could be at risk of losing out on an everyday role once either Jonathan Aranda (finger) or Brandon Lowe (oblique) return from the 10-day injured list. In addition to Aranda and Lowe, Junior Caminero is back to full health at Triple-A Durham and has been sizzling at the plate of late, potentially making him a candidate to join the big club if the Rays want to swap out one infield prospect for another.

Damian Lillard MIL PG
Bucks' Damian Lillard: Status in doubt for Game 5
23m agoLillard's (Achilles) status for Game 5 against the Pacers on Tuesday is in doubt, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
Lillard has been playing through right Achilles soreness but aggravated the issue during Game 3 and was ruled out for Game 4 after being diagnosed with a strained tendon. Charania also said Giannis Antetokounmpo (calf) isn't close to returning, so the Bucks may be without their top two weapons for a second straight game. Malik Beasley and Bobby Portis would likely remain in the starting lineup if Lillard and Antetokounmpo are out again, but Andre Jackson could also be a candidate for more minutes. Lillard's official status for the potential elimination game should be released Monday night.
-
Giannis Antetokounmpo MIL PF
Bucks' Giannis Antetokounmpo: Status in doubt for Game 5
25m agoThere is doubt that Antetokounmpo (calf) will be able to suit up for Tuesday's Game 5 against the Pacers, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
Coach Doc Rivers provided an encouraging update regarding Antetokounmpo on Sunday morning, saying that there was a chance the forward plays in the first-round series after working out by shooting and running with no resistance, per Jamal Collier of ESPN.com. However, Antetokounmpo's status is very much in question for Tuesday's matchup as the Bucks return home and hope to avoid elimination.
-
Jericho Sims NY C
Knicks' Jericho Sims: Likely to play in Game 5
1h agoSims is probable for Tuesday's Game 5 against the 76ers due to right shoulder inflammation.
Sims hasn't appeared in the first four games of the Knicks' first-round series, but he's dealing with a shoulder issue ahead of Game 5. While he'll likely be able to suit up, Sims is unlikely to see much playing time, even if Mitchell Robinson (ankle) misses another contest.
-
Craig Porter Jr. CLE PG
Cavaliers' Craig Porter: Still out
1h agoPorter (ankle) has been ruled out for Tuesday's Game 5 against the Magic.
Porter has yet to suit up during the postseason due to a left ankle sprain. Even when he's healthy, the undrafted rookie isn't guaranteed minutes.
-
Mitchell Robinson NY C
Knicks' Mitchell Robinson: Iffy for Game 5
1h agoRobinson (ankle) is questionable for Tuesday's Game 5 against the 76ers.
Robinson sprained his surgically repaired left ankle during New York's Game 3 loss last Thursday and was sidelined for Sunday's win. If Robinson is ruled out again, Precious Achiuwa would likely see increased minutes, but coach Tom Thibodeau also deployed OG Anunoby as the small-ball center to guard Joel Embiid for long stretches in Game 4.
-
Jalen Brunson NY PG
Knicks' Jalen Brunson: Probable for Game 5
1h agoBrunson is probable for Tuesday's Game 5 against the 76ers due to a right knee contusion.
Brunson briefly exited Sunday's Game 4 win over the 76ers, and it seems unlikely the issue will force him to miss Game 5. Over the first four matchups of the series, he's averaged 33.0 points, 9.0 assists and 5.3 rebounds in 42.0 minutes per game.
-
Sam Poulin PIT LW
Penguins' Samuel Poulin: Inks two-year extension
12m agoPoulin signed a two-year, two-way deal with the Penguins on Monday.
Poulin racked up 16 goals and 31 points in 41 games with AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton this season. Over the last two years, he's totaled one assist in six NHL appearances. He'll head into next season's training camp looking to win a bottom-six spot in Pittsburgh.
-
Mitchell Gibson WAS G
Capitals' Mitchell Gibson: Assigned to minors
42m agoGibson was loaned to AHL Hershey on Monday.
Gibson spent most of the 2023-24 regular season with ECHL South Carolina, posting a 22-14-6 record with a 2.56 GAA and an .899 save percentage in 42 appearances. He also went 2-0-0 in two AHL outings, surrendering four goals on 47 shots. Gibson will probably serve as a depth option during Hershey's AHL playoff run.
-
Dylan McIlrath WAS D
Capitals' Dylan McIlrath: Heads back to minors
1h agoMcIlrath was returned to AHL Hershey on Monday.
McIlrath suited up in all four games of Washington's first-round series defeat against the Rangers, posting four blocked shots, seven hits and 10 PIM. He will get to play for the Bears in the AHL playoffs after contributing nine points and 100 PIM in 58 minor-league appearances during the 2023-24 regular season.
-
Lucas Johansen WAS D
Capitals' Lucas Johansen: Back in AHL
1h agoJohansen was assigned to AHL Hershey on Monday.
Johansen will get an opportunity to play for the Bears in the AHL postseason after suiting up in two playoff contests during Washington's first-round exit versus the Rangers. The 26-year-old blueliner had two goals and 12 points in 22 AHL outings during the 2023-24 regular season.
-
Vincent Iorio WAS D
Capitals' Vincent Iorio: Dropped to AHL
1h agoIorio (upper body) was loaned to AHL Hershey on Monday.
Iorio sat out three straight contests to conclude Washington's first-round series loss to the Rangers. Assuming he's healthy, which his demotion suggests, he should get a chance to play for the Bears in the AHL playoffs. The 21-year-old defender had four goals and 14 points in 60 minor-league appearances during the 2023-24 regular season.
-
Ivan Miroshnichenko WAS LW
Capitals' Ivan Miroshnichenko: Sent down to minors
1h agoMiroshnichenko was reassigned to AHL Hershey on Monday.
Miroshnichenko will get to play for the Bears in the AHL playoffs following Washington's first-round elimination at the hands of the Rangers on Sunday. The 20-year-old forward had nine goals and 25 points in 47 minor-league outings during the 2023-24 regular season.
