Gerrid Doaks HOU RB
Gerrid Doaks: Cut by Houston
4h agoThe Texans waived Doaks on Friday.
Doaks spent most of the past two seasons with Houston's practice squad and had signed a reserve/future contract with the club in January. However, he was cut Friday after the Texans reshaped their running back room in the offseason by trading for Joe Mixon, adding Jawhar Jordan in the draft and signing British Brooks as an undrafted free agent. Doaks has yet to play a snap in the NFL.

Je'Quan Burton 2005 WR
Dolphins' Je'Quan Burton: Headed to Miami
5h agoThe Dolphins signed Burton on Friday.
As a senior at Florida Atlantic, Burton hauled in 24 passes for 277 yards and two touchdowns. Miami's wide receiver depth chart will be tough to crack for any undrafted rookie ahead of 2024.
-
Jalen Camp CAR WR
Jalen Camp: Gets waived by Carolina
5h agoThe Panthers waived Camp on Friday, Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer reports.
Camp did not see the field in 2023, and after Carolina added talent at wide receiver in the draft, it opted to cut him. He'll now have to search for another chance with a different franchise.
-
Chris Pierce Jr. CAR TE
Chris Pierce: Done with Panthers
5h agoCarolina waived Pierce on Friday, Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer reports.
Pierce agreed to a reserve/future contract with the Panthers back in January, but they decided to let him go after adding talent at tight end in the draft. He'll now look for another chance with a new team.
-
Spencer Brown CAR RB
Spencer Brown: Leaving Carolina
5h agoThe Panthers waived Brown (undisclosed) with an injury designation Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Brown didn't see the field in 2023, and after Carolina added talent at running back in the draft, it has now decided to cut him loose. He'll revert to injured reserve assuming he clears waivers.
-
Deon Jackson NYG RB
Giants' Deon Jackson: Done with Giants
6h agoThe Giants waived Jackson (undisclosed) with an injury designation Friday, Dan Salomone of the team's official site reports.
Jackson suited up for both Cleveland and Indianapolis in 2023, but he demonstrated a tendency to fumble the ball away and thus spent most of last season on the bench. If he clears waivers, he'll reverted to injured reserve.
-
Austin Slater SF RF
Giants' Austin Slater: Exits with apparent injury
5m agoSlater was removed from Friday's game against the Reds with an apparent arm injury, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Slater crashed hard into the outfield wall during the first inning and was later pinch hit for by Michael Conforto. The Giants' training staff will take a closer look at Slater in the clubhouse and should offer an update on his status in the near future.
-
Matt Olson ATL 1B
Braves' Matt Olson: Finally snaps slump
6m agoOlson went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in Friday's win over the Mets.
Olson hit Atlanta's third and final homer during the third inning and it proved to be the game-winning blast. It was his first long ball since April 7, snapping an uncharacteristic 26-game skid. During that extended drought, he posted a .508 OPS with 30 strikeouts. On the year, Olson is now slashing .202/.311/.372 with 13 extra-base hits and 18 RBI through 35 contests.
-
Josh Hader HOU RP
Astros' Josh Hader: Notches fifth save
9m agoHader earned the save in Friday's 5-2 win over the Tigers, working around a walk while striking out two in a scoreless inning.
Hader's allowed just one earned run in his last 7.1 innings while improving to 5-for-6 in save chances. After a shaky start to the year, the left-hander's lowered his ERA to 5.29 with a 1.35 WHIP and 27:8 K:BB across 17 innings.
-
Trevor Rogers MIA SP
Marlins' Trevor Rogers: Chased early again
9m agoRogers (0-6) yielded five runs (four earned) on nine hits and two walks over 3.1 innings Friday, striking out three and taking a loss against the Phillies.
Rogers got through three frames with only two runs allowed before the Phillies piled on three runs in the fourth inning. He's been blasted for 12 earned runs in just 5.2 innings over his last two outings, boosting his ERA from 4.31 to 6.57 in the process. Rogers has yet to complete six innings in any start this year and owns a lackluster 31:17 K:BB through 37 frames. His next outing is currently projected to be in Detroit next week.
-

Phillies' Johan Rojas: Goes deep, swipes bag
15m agoRojas went 3-for-5 with a home run, a run scored, two RBI and a stolen base in Friday's win over the Marlins.
Rojas knocked an RBI single in the second inning and later swiped second base in the fifth inning. He then went deep with his second homer of the year in the seventh frame. Both homers have come in his last seven appearances after starting the year in a 25-game drought. Rojas is now slashing .234/.281/.336 with eight steals, 10 RBI and six extra-base hits through 115 plate appearances.

Casey Mize DET SP
Tigers' Casey Mize: Logs quality start
22m agoMize did not factor into the decision Friday against the Astros, allowing one run on five hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out two.
Mize shut out Houston through five innings Friday, eventually allowing one run on a Kyle Tucker solo homer to lead off the sixth. While the Tigers' bullpen couldn't hang on to the lead, it was an impressive outing from Mize after he allowed five runs in a loss to the Yankees in his last start. Overall, the 27-year-old right-hander is 1-1 with a 3.58 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 26:9 K:BB across 37.2 innings this season. Mize is currently lined up for a home matchup with the Marlins in his next start.
-
Kyle Anderson MIN SF
Timberwolves' Kyle Anderson: Back to bench
2h agoAnderson will return to a reserve role in Friday's Game 3 against the Nuggets.
No surprise here, as Rudy Gobert (personal) is back with the team. As a result, Anderson should take on his usual role providing depth at forward.
-
Reggie Jackson DEN PG
Nuggets' Reggie Jackson: Good to go
2h agoJackson (ankle) is available for Friday's Game 3 against the Timberwolves.
Jackson will be available to provide depth at point guard. Starter Jamal Murray (calf), who was also questionable, is going to play through it. Thus, Jackson figures to take on his usual depth role.
-
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope DEN SG
Nuggets' Kentavious Caldwell-Pope: Good to go Friday
2h agoCaldwell-Pope (abdomen) is good to go for Friday's Game 3 against Minnesota.
Caldwell-Pope walked away from Game 2 with a mild abdomen injury, but he'll power through it in Game 3 with no word of any restrictions. Jamal Murray (calf) and Reggie Jackson (calf) will also play through their questionable tags.
-
Jamal Murray DEN PG
Nuggets' Jamal Murray: Available for Game 3
2h agoMurray (calf) is available for Friday's Game 3 against Minnesota.

-

Knicks' Precious Achiuwa: Gets starting nod
4h agoAchiuwa is in the starting lineup for Friday's Game 3 against the Pacers, Steve Popper of Newsday reports.

Jalen Brunson NY PG
Knicks' Jalen Brunson: Good to go for Game 3
4h agoBrunson (foot) is available and in the starting lineup for Friday's Game 3 against the Pacers, Steve Popper of Newsday reports.

-
Jeremy Swayman BOS G
Bruins' Jeremy Swayman: Loss in Game 3
11m agoSwayman made 27 saves on 32 shots in Friday's 6-2 home loss to the Panthers.
It was a tough outing for Swayman in Game 3, as the Bruins were heavily outplayed by the Panthers. There wasn't much help in front of the Bruins netminder, as Florida almost doubled up Boston in shots on goal. Swayman has now allowed nine goals in his last two outings combined, so it's possible the Bruins turn to Linus Ullmark in net for Game 4. Overall this postseason, Swayman is 5-4 with a 2.19 GAA and a .931 save percentage.
-
Sergei Bobrovsky FLA G
Panthers' Sergei Bobrovsky: Light workload in win
25m agoBobrovsky turned aside 14 of 16 shots on goal in Friday's 6-2 victory over the Bruins.
It was a relatively quiet night in net for Bobrovsky, as the Bruins only had eight shots on net early in the third period. Florida also had a 3-0 lead after the second period, so Boston was pressing hard in the third. Bobrovsky made a number of key saves to keep the lead at two before the Panthers added a couple of insurance goals. Game 4 of this series is Sunday in Boston, where Bobrovsky will presumably be between the pipes again.
-
Stuart Skinner EDM G
Oilers' Stuart Skinner: Tending twine Friday
1h agoSkinner will get the starting nod for Game 2 in Vancouver, Oilers play-by-by announcer Jack Michaels reports.
Skinner has been shaky this postseason and was rocked for five goals on just 24 shots in the Game 1 loss Wednesday. Through six playoff games, he's registered an .893 save percentage and a 3.01 GAA. On the bright side, Skinner hasn't taken consecutive losses since Feb. 21 and 24.
-
Adam Henrique EDM C
Oilers' Adam Henrique: Back in action
1h agoHenrique (lower body) is in Friday's lineup for Game 2 against Vancouver, Oilers play-by-by announcer Jack Michaels reports.
Henrique will return to the lineup after missing Game 1 with a lower-body issue. He tallied two points in Game 1 against the Kings last round but hasn't scored a point in four games since. Henrique is expected to skate in a top-six role Friday.
-
Leon Draisaitl EDM C
Oilers' Leon Draisaitl: Expected to play Friday
1h agoDraisaitl (undisclosed) is warming up and is expected to suit up against the Canucks on Friday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Draisaitl missed a morning skate after dealing with cramping issues during Wednesday's Game 1 loss. Fortunately for Edmonton, he shouldn't miss any additional time. The star forward has five goals and 12 points through six games this postseason. Draisaitl tallied two assists in Game 1 against Vancouver.
-
Brad Marchand BOS LW
Bruins' Brad Marchand: Exits Friday's contest
2h agoMarchand (upper body) was injured Friday against Florida and is not expected to return.
Marchand racked up five hits through 10:51 of ice time prior to suffering the injury but he failed to record a shot or a point. The veteran winger tallied an assist in each of the first two games this series but is currently stuck in a six-game goalless drought, assuming he doesn't return Friday. An update on his status should be available before Game 4 on Sunday.
