Ro Torrence 2005 CB
Seahawks' Ro Torrence: Lands with Seahawks
4h agoSeattle signed Torrence to a contract Friday, Howard Balzer of GoPHNX.com reports.
Torrence wasn't selected in the NFL Draft in late April but will get a shot to make his case for a roster or practice-squad spot after signing with the Seahawks. The 6-foot-3 defensive back played the final two seasons of college with Arizona State and totaled 37 tackles (including 2.0 sacks) along with an interception in 2023. Torrence allowed just 20 receptions in coverage last season, the lowest total among Pac-12 cornerbacks with at least 300 snaps played in coverage during the regular season.

Kitan Oladapo GB SAF
Packers' Kitan Oladapo: Undergoes toe surgery
5h agoOladapo (toe) has undergone surgery and is not expected to be ready for OTAs, Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Although he will miss OTAs, the team remains optimistic that Clark will be ready for training camp. He suffered a stress fracture doing drills on the turf at the NFL combine. The rookie was the third safety selected by the Packers in the 2024 NFL Draft, following Xavier McKinney and Anthony Johnson. The Oregon State product will need to get his health back to bar in order to make an impression during training camp.

Le'Raven Clark PHI OT
Eagles' Le'Raven Clark: Placed on IR
5h agoThe Eagles placed Clark on injured reserve Friday.
It is unclear what Clark's injury is or how he sustained it, but he is a rare offseason addition to IR. This will allow the Eagles' some roster flexibility going forward. The journeyman failed to make a roster or practice squad during the 2023 season, but will look to bounce back once his health is back up to par.
-
Tyler Harrell 2005 WR
Jets' Tyler Harrell: Joins Jets
5h agoThe Jets signed Harrell on Friday, Ethan Greenberg and John Pullano of the team's official site report.
Harrell totaled four receptions for 45 yards as a sixth-year senior at Miami in 2023. The Jets are thin at wide receiver going into 2024, so he could be in the competition for the last few spots on their final depth chart.
-
Shi Smith KC WR
Shi Smith: Done in Kansas City
6h agoThe Chiefs waived Smith on Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Smith did not appear in a regular-season game in 2023, and now Kansas City has decided to let him go ahead of 2024. He'll have to look for his next opportunity with a different squad.
-
Anthony Miller KC WR
Anthony Miller: Let go by Chiefs
6h agoKansas City released Miller on Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Miller initially signed with the Chiefs back in January, but after using both free agency and the draft to add depth at wide receiver, Kansas City has now chosen to part ways with him. He hasn't appeared in a regular-season game since 2021.
-
Ryan Helsley STL RP
Cardinals' Ryan Helsley: Collects easy save
2m agoHelsley tossed a perfect inning to earn a save over the White Sox on Friday.
Helsely retired the 2-3-4 hitters in the White Sox lineup with just eight pitches to secure the 3-0 win. Since blowing a save chance in his season debut, Helsley has converted 11 consecutive opportunities while allowing one earned run over 16 innings. He owns a 1.59 ERA with a terrific 19:2 K:BB this season.
-
Brent Rooker OAK LF
Athletics' Brent Rooker: Goes deep in win
3m agoRooker went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer in Friday's win over the Marlins.
Rooker opened the scoring Friday night, crushing a titanic 440-foot homer off Ryan Weathers in the fourth inning to give Oakland the lead. Despite sporting a .211 batting average, the Athletics designated hitter has provided plenty of power with six homers while slugging .507. Rooker may be heating up along with the spring weather as he's hit .269 (7-for-26) with two homers and eight RBI over his last eight games.
-
Brad Keller CHW RP
White Sox's Brad Keller: Handed loss Friday
5m agoKeller (0-1) allowed three runs on five hits and two walks over 4.2 innings Friday, striking out five and taking a loss against St. Louis.
Keller coughed up a pair of runs in the first inning but kept the Cardinals in check until he was charged with another run in the fifth. He forced 12 swinging strikes but needed 102 pitches to get through 4.2 frames. Keller registered a 4.50 ERA across three starts with Triple-A Charlotte before his promotion to the MLB level and it's unclear what role the White Sox plan on using him in moving forward.
-
Lucas Erceg OAK RP
Athletics' Lucas Erceg: Collects second save
5m agoErceg picked up the save Friday against Miami. He pitched a 1.1 innings with three strikeouts, allowing one run on two hits and no walks.
In a semi-surprising development, Oakland manager Mark Kotsay allowed Erceg to collect the save Friday night instead of Mason Miller. However, Miller pitched back-to-back nights on Tuesday and Wednesday and may have required additional rest. In earning his second save, Erceg has shown to be the next reliever in line for the Athletics closer role.
-
JP Sears OAK SP
Athletics' JP Sears: Strikes out six in victory
7m agoSears (2-2) earned the win Friday against the Marlins, allowing four hits and one walk over 6.1 shutout innings. He struck out six.
Sears took care of business Friday night against a weakened Marlins squad, scattering two singles, a double and a triple in his 95-pitch performance. The 28-year-old lefty also produced his third straight start of six or more strikeouts, lowering his season ERA to 3.89. Sears is scheduled to face the Rangers at home in his next start.
-
Sonny Gray STL SP
Cardinals' Sonny Gray: Cruises to win
10m agoGray (4-1) allowed three hits and a walk over seven scoreless innings Friday, striking out six and earning a win over the White Sox.
Gray allowed just one extra-base hit and retired the final eight batters he faced. He's been excellent since returning from a brief stint on the injured list to begin the year; Gray has given up just three earned runs through 30.1 innings while producing a 38:5 K:BB. He's turned in four straight quality starts after throwing five shutout frames in his 2024 debut. Gray's next start is lined up to be at home against the Mets.

Franz Wagner ORL PF
Magic's Franz Wagner: Perfect from line in victory
1h agoWagner amassed 26 points (7-16 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 11-11 FT), five rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal in 42 minutes during Friday's 103-96 win over the Cavaliers in Game 6 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Wagner went a perfect 11-of-11 from the line, helping the Magic to an impressive Game 6 victory. It was another impressive performance by Wagner, who continues to develop into a key piece for Orlando. Game 7 will take place Sunday, with both teams vying for a second-round berth against the high-flying Celtics.
-
Cole Anthony ORL PG
Magic's Cole Anthony: Closes game Friday
1h agoAnthony accumulated nine points (4-10 FG, 1-3 3Pt), three rebounds, one assist and one steal across 19 minutes during Friday's 103-96 win over the Cavaliers in Game 6 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Anthony closed the game Friday, providing the Magic with some much-needed floor spacing. With Gary Harris (hamstring), Anthony slid into a larger role, something that could stick for Game 7 should Harris remain sidelined.
-
Joe Ingles ORL SG
Magic's Joe Ingles: Limited in Game 6 victory
1h agoIngles accumulated two assists over eight minutes during Friday's 103-96 win over the Cavaliers in Game 6 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Ingles played just eight minutes in the win, serving more as a cheerleader than an actual player. Now in the twilight of his career, Ingles provides the team with a much-needed veteran presence. Win or lose, the Magic have managed to turn some heads this season and the future is certainly bright in Orlando.
-
Marcus Morris CLE PF
Cavaliers' Marcus Morris: Quiet in start
2h agoMorris registered two points (1-7 FG, 0-4 3Pt), eight rebounds and two assists across 27 minutes during Friday's 103-96 loss to Orlando in Game 6 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Morris played 27 minutes as the starting power forward in the Game 6 loss. The Cavaliers will be hoping Jarrett Allen can overcome his rib injury and get back on the floor for a must-win Game 7 on Sunday.
-
Tristan Thompson CLE C
Cavaliers' Tristan Thompson: Logs 12 minutes Friday
2h agoThompson posted two points (1-3 FG), two rebounds and one block across 12 minutes during Friday's 103-96 loss to the Magic in Game 6 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Thompson played as the primary backup behind Evan Mobley, something that Cleveland fans may be hoping will not happen again. Other than providing additional size, Thompson rarely has much of an impact on the court in the late stages of his career. Jarrett Allen (ribs) will almost certainly be doing everything possible to make it back for Game 7.
-
Donovan Mitchell CLE SG
Cavaliers' Donovan Mitchell: Plays lone hand in loss
2h agoMitchell finished Friday's 103-96 loss to the Magic in Game 6 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs with 50 points (22-36 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 3-6 FT), four rebounds, four assists and one block in 42 minutes.
Mitchell outscored the rest of the Cavaliers roster, dropping 50 points in the loss. He scored all of Cleveland's points in the final quarter. He is going to need more help on the offensive end should the Cavaliers hope to advance to the second round, where the Celtics await.
-
Jake Oettinger DAL G
Stars' Jake Oettinger: Starting Game 6
3h agoOettinger will get the starting nod for Game 6 in Vegas on Friday, Jesse Granger of The Athletic reports.
Oettinger has been dominant over the last three games, leading the Stars from a 2-0 deficit to a 3-2 lead. Over that span, he's coughed up just six goals on 95 shots. Through five appearances this series, Oetinger has posted a .911 save percentage and a 2.31 GAA.
-
Luke Schenn NSH D
Predators' Luke Schenn: Good to go Friday
6h agoSchenn (illness) will play Friday in Game 6 against Vancouver, Nick Kieser of 102.5 ESPN Nashville reports.

-
Cole Smith NSH LW
Predators' Cole Smith: Unavailable Friday
6h agoSmith (upper body) will not play Friday against the Canucks for Game 6.
Smith is considered day-to-day, indicating he could return Sunday for Game 7 if Nashville avoids elimination. The 28-year-old has 12 hits and no points in five games this series. Juuso Parssinen will dress in Smith's absence for Game 6.
-
Juuse Saros NSH G
Predators' Juuse Saros: Tending twine Friday
6h agoSaros will face the Canucks at home for Game 6 on Friday.
Saros turned away 19 of 20 shots in Tuesday's 2-1 Game 5 win to force Game 6. Through five games this series, he's allowed only 11 goals but it's come with a lackluster .879 save percentage. To avoid elimination, Saros will need to earn consecutive wins for the first time since April 4 and 7.
-
Michael DiPietro BOS G
Bruins' Michael DiPietro: Returns to minors
9h agoDiPietro was reassigned to AHL Providence on Friday, per Mark Divver of the New England Hockey Journal.
DiPietro was summoned Tuesday so the Bruins would have a third goaltender on their playoff roster. He might be recalled ahead of Game 7 on Saturday against Toronto to continue to serve that function. DiPietro hasn't played for Boston in the regular season or playoffs in 2023-24, but he did record a 2.51 GAA and a .918 save percentage in 30 regular-season outings with Providence.
-
Kaiden Guhle MON D
Canadiens' Kaiden Guhle: Good to play for Team Canada
9h agoGuhle, who missed the final seven games of the regular season due to a head injury, will join Team Canada for the upcoming IIHF World Championship.
Guhle finished the 2023-24 season with six goals, 22 points, 56 PIM, 116 hits and 178 blocks in 70 contests with Montreal. He served in a top-four capacity with the Canadiens, and the 22-year-old should act in a similar capacity for the franchise next campaign. In the meantime, Guhle will get in some extra high-level action during the international tournament before beginning his summer training.
