Michael Gallup DAL WR
Raiders' Michael Gallup: Lands in Las Vegas
4h agoGallup agreed to terms on a one-year, $3 million contract with the Raiders on Monday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
After a six-year stint in Dallas to start his career, Gallup will get a fresh start in Las Vegas. His second year with the Cowboys generated plenty of optimism, as he tallied 1,107 yards receiving to go along with six touchdowns. However, he has failed to replicate those types of numbers since. With Davante Adams and Jakobi Meyers locked in as the team's top pass catchers, Gallup will compete with the likes of Tre Tucker and DJ Turner, among others, for the No. 3 pass catching role.

Curtis Samuel BUF WR
Bills' Curtis Samuel: Get competition via draft
4h agoSamuel has a new teammate in the receiving room after the Bills took Keon Coleman out of Florida State with the first pick of the second round Friday.
Samuel, signed as a free agent in March, was never going to be a No. 1 or even a No. 2 in Buffalo, but now we at least know who's been brought in ahead of him on the depth chart. It's a mild surprise the Bills chose only one receiver with their 10 draft picks, so for now the versatile Samuel likely sits No. 3 in the pecking order behind Khalil Shakir and Coleman. That said, this is a perfect offense for Samuel's skill set and he'll be a weapon of some sort once things get going, just not the primary receiving option.

Saints' Shane Lemieux: Joining up with Saints
5h agoNew Orleans signed Lemieux on Monday, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.
The Giants opted not to hold on to Lemieux after the termination of his rookie contract, but he's now found another chance with the Saints. He's set to compete for a roster spot among an offensive line that underwhelmed in 2023.

5h agoArizona waived Hembrough on Monday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
In a corresponding move, Arizona signed rookie free agent long snapper Joe Shimko. Hembrough will now have to look for his next opportunity with a new team after spending his entire rookie season on the injured reserve list.

Kyle Pitts ATL TE
Falcons' Kyle Pitts: Has 2025 option exercised
5h agoThe Falcons exercised Pitts' 2025 fifth-year option, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
It's a no-brainer move for the Falcons, even if Pitts, the No. 8 overall pick of the 2021 Draft, is coming off back-to-back disappointing seasons after going over 1,000 yards as a rookie. The hope in Atlanta is that the acquisition of Kirk Cousins coupled with the new coaching staff can help maximize Pitts' abilities. Pitts' figures to be a popular 2024 rebound candidate in both real life and fantasy football.

Jazz Chisholm MIA CF
Marlins' Jazz Chisholm: Belts fourth homer
20m agoChisholm went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Monday's 7-2 loss to the Nationals.
He spoiled Jake Irvin's attempt at a shutout by launching a fastball over the fence in center field in the sixth inning. Chisholm has gone yard in back-to-back games on the heels of a 17-game homer drought, and the 26-year-old could be catching fire. On the season, he's slashing .245/.339/.406 with four homers, five steals, 13 runs and 17 RBI in 29 contests.
-
Trevor Rogers MIA SP
Marlins' Trevor Rogers: Remains winless
23m agoRogers (0-4) took the loss Monday, giving up three runs on four hits and three walks over five innings as the Marlins fell 7-2 to the Nationals. He struck out three.
The southpaw threw 55 of 89 pitches for strikes before exiting, and all three of the free passes he issued came in the fifth inning -- including one to Jesse Winker with the bases loaded. Rogers has gone at least five innings in all six of his starts so far this season but has yet to complete six frames, and he'll take a 4.31 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 27:12 K:BB through 31.1 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come on the road this weekend in Oakland.
-
Ryan Pepiot TB SP
Rays' Ryan Pepiot: Turns in scoreless outing
26m agoPepiot (3-2) yielded two hits over six shutout frames Monday, striking out seven and earning a win over the Brewers.
Pepiot was nearly untouchable Monday, allowing just one Brewer to reach scoring position. At one point, he retired 14 consecutive batters. He's produced three straight quality starts and four in his six appearances this year. Over his last outings, Pepiot has given up just two runs with an 18:5 K:BB through 18 innings. He'll carry a 3.12 ERA into his next start, which is projected to be at home against the Mets this weekend.
-
Jacob Young WAS CF
Nationals' Jacob Young: Runs wild again Monday
28m agoYoung went 1-for-4 with two runs scored and two stolen bases in Monday's 7-2 win over the Marlins.
Both pilfers came in the fifth inning, as Young stole second then teamed up with CJ Abrams on a double steal after the shortstop drew a walk. Young's 12 stolen bases on the season are third in the majors behind Elly De La Cruz (18) and Brice Turang (13), and he's slashing .328/.368/.391 through 21 games. Victor Robles (hamstring) is set to begin a rehab assignment this week as he nears his return from the IL, but Young seems to have a firm hold on the starting job in center field for the Nationals.

Jaime Jaquez Jr. MIA SF
Heat's Jaime Jaquez: Picks up hip injury in Game 4
35m agoJaquez suffered a hip injury during Monday's Game 4 against the Celtics, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports. He finished with nine points (4-10 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-1 FT), two rebounds, two assists, one steal and one blocks in 22 minutes.
Jaquez went to the locker room during the first half to be evaluated and quickly returned to the game, but he was ultimately held out of the fourth quarter due to tightness. "Just my right hip. Felt something give at the beginning of the second quarter going up for a rebound," said Jaquez after the game, per Wes Goldberg of the Locked On Podcast Network. The team expects to identify the extent of his injury Tuesday morning.

Lakers' LeBron James: Available for Game 5
2h agoJames (ankle) has been cleared to play in Monday's Game 5 against Denver, Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet reports.
