Ro Torrence 2005 CB
Seahawks' Ro Torrence: Lands with Seahawks
2h agoSeattle signed Torrence to a contract Friday, Howard Balzer of GoPHNX.com reports.
Torrence wasn't selected in the NFL Draft in late April but will get a shot to make his case for a roster or practice-squad spot after signing with the Seahawks. The 6-foot-3 defensive back played the final two seasons of college with Arizona State and totaled 37 tackles (including 2.0 sacks) along with an interception in 2023. Torrence allowed just 20 receptions in coverage last season, the lowest total among Pac-12 cornerbacks with at least 300 snaps played in coverage during the regular season.

Packers' Kitan Oladapo: Undergoes toe surgery
3h agoOladapo (toe) has undergone surgery and is not expected to be ready for OTAs, Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Although he will miss OTAs, the team remains optimistic that Clark will be ready for training camp. He suffered a stress fracture doing drills on the turf at the NFL combine. The rookie was the third safety selected by the Packers in the 2024 NFL Draft, following Xavier McKinney and Anthony Johnson. The Oregon State product will need to get his health back to bar in order to make an impression during training camp.

Eagles' Le'Raven Clark: Placed on IR
3h agoThe Eagles placed Clark on injured reserve Friday.
It is unclear what Clark's injury is or how he sustained it, but he is a rare offseason addition to IR. This will allow the Eagles' some roster flexibility going forward. The journeyman failed to make a roster or practice squad during the 2023 season, but will look to bounce back once his health is back up to par.

Jets' Tyler Harrell: Joins Jets
4h agoThe Jets signed Harrell on Friday, Ethan Greenberg and John Pullano of the team's official site report.
Harrell totaled four receptions for 45 yards as a sixth-year senior at Miami in 2023. The Jets are thin at wide receiver going into 2024, so he could be in the competition for the last few spots on their final depth chart.

He carved up the Washington lineup en route to his fourth quality start of the season, generating 34 called or swinging strikes among his 100 pitches, and Kikuchi left the mound with Toronto ahead 3-1. Unfortunately, Erik Swanson immediately coughed up the lead in the seventh inning, denying Kikuchi his third win. The southpaw will take a 2.72 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 43:9 K:BB through 39.2 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come at home next weekend against the Twins.

Oneil Cruz PIT SS
Pirates' Oneil Cruz: Ends homer drought Friday
11m agoCruz went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's 3-2 loss to the Rockies.
The 25-year-old shortstop had gone 17 straight games without a homer coming into Friday and nearly made it 18. but he got hold of a Jalen Beeks changeup in the ninth inning to make things close for the Pirates. It was Cruz's fourth long ball of the season and his first off a southpaw, and the RBI were his first since April 22. While the performance was encouraging, he still sports a disappointing .240/.287/.364 slash line through 33 contests with three steals, nine runs and 10 RBI.
-

12m agoHicks (2-1) took the loss Friday against the Phillies, allowing four runs (two earned) on four hits and four walks over four innings. He struck out three.
The Phillies scored three times off Hicks in the third inning before tacking on another run in the fourth, handing the right-hander his first loss of the year. While the four runs against Hicks were a season high, he's still yet to allow more than two earned runs through seven starts. 18m agoPerez (1-2) took the loss Friday, giving up three runs on eight hits over 5.1 innings as the Pirates fell 3-2 to the Rockies. He struck out four without walking a batter.

He exited after 88 pitches (61 strikes), coming up two outs short of his fourth quality start of the season. Perez will take a 3.15 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 31:13 K:BB through 40 innings into his next outing, which is scheduled to come at home next week against the Angels.

Ryan McMahon COL 3B
Rockies' Ryan McMahon: Launches fifth homer
21m agoMcMahon went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Friday's 3-2 win over the Pirates.
The 29-year-old led off the sixth inning by hammering a Martin Perez changeup out of PNC Park completely and into the Allegheny River, becoming only the second Colorado player in history to accomplish the feat after Todd Helton back in 2001. Three of McMahon's five homers this year have come in the last eight games, and the power surge has boosted his slash line on the season to .319/.407/.513 with 13 runs and 19 RBI in 32 contests.

Woo-Suk Go SD RP
Marlins' Woo-suk Go: Sent to Miami in Arraez deal
23m agoThe Padres traded Go, Dillon Head, Nathan Martorella and Jakob Marsee to the Marlins on Friday in exchange for Luis Arraez, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.
The Padres signed Go to a two-year deal in January with the expectation that he would serve as a high-leverage option out of the bullpen. However, a poor performance during spring training caused the 25-year-old reliever to be optioned to Triple-A and later demoted again to Double-A San Antonio, where he has posted a 4.38 ERA and 1.49 WHIP alongside a 15:4 K:BB through 12.1 innings. The Marlins may be willing to give Go a chance in the majors given their depleted pitching staff and relatively weak bullpen, but his Double-A stats don't spark much optimism.
