41m agoHill is expected to be a part of the Bengals' cornerback room in 2024, Jay Morrison of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.
Hill spent his sophomore campaign operating as a starting safety for the Bengals, recording 110 tackles, including 1.5 sacks, while also intercepting two passes and deflecting 11 others over 17 contests. Head coach Zac Taylor said Sunday that Hill will "be in the cornerback room" this year, which could mean a position change is in store. The team signed former Raven Geno Stone this offseason and could replace Hill at safety in 2024.

Wiley wasn't selected during the 2024 NFL Draft but will have a chance to compete for a role with Washington during offseason activities. He sustained a thumb injury during the Senior Bowl in March, and it's unclear when he'll be back to full health.

Janke showed improvement over each of his four seasons at South Dakota State, and he tallied 57 receptions for 946 yards and 10 touchdowns while rushing twice for 11 yards and a touchdown in 2023. He'll attempt to make his mark during offseason activities with Houston.

2h agoBecton and the Eagles have agreed on a one-year, $5.5 million contract, pending a physical Monday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Becton appears to be set to join the Eagles after starting 16 games with the Jets in 2023. The offensive tackle has dealt with multiple significant lower-body injuries in his four-year NFL career, limiting his time on the field, and he'll look to carve out a consistent role with Philadelphia.

Steele began his collegiate career by playing two seasons at Ball State, but he joined UCLA for the 2023 campaign. His production declined with the Bruins, but he still rushed 167 times for 847 yards and six touchdowns while tallying 17 receptions for 163 yards and two touchdowns during his year at UCLA. He'll now spend time with Kansas City during offseason activities.

Carroll, who was dropped in the order Wednesday following a day off amid a slump, has hit seventh or eighth over the last four contests. It hasn't helped awake the bat. Carroll is 0-for-13 in those four games and is 1-for-25 with 11 strikeouts over the last seven. He's sitting at .189/.295/.236 with just five RBI over 27 games.

5m agoBlackburn did not factor into the decision during Sunday's 7-6 win over the Orioles, allowing six runs on seven hits and one walk over four innings. He struck out five.
Blackburn was lit up by the Orioles, allowing four extra-base hits including three home runs. He was on the hook for his second loss until the A's salvaged the come-from-behind win. Following a flawless start to the season that saw him allow no earned runs spanning 19.1 innings through his first three starts, Blackburn has progressively regressed over his next three starts, allowing 13 runs over that 15.2 inning stretch. He'll look to right the ship during his next start, tentatively slated to take place next weekend when the Miami Marlins come to Oakland for a three-game set.

Marte's two-out double in the eighth plated Kevin Newman with the winning run. It was the second consecutive game that Marte has hit out of the three-hole, as manager Torey Lovullo made recent changes to accommodate for Corbin Carroll's slow start. Marte had been the team's primary leadoff hitter.

Rogers' sixth-inning two-out blast spelled the end of the day for Kansas City starter Michael Wacha and provided the winning margin for the Tigers. It was just the second multi-hit game for Rogers, who raised his season average to .164 with two homers and three RBI.

Perez' first career dinger came in the first inning off Kansas City starter Michael Wacha and represented what turned out to be the game-winning blast for the Tigers. The rookie outfielder has started four of the past five games for the Tigers and has found himself consistently toward the top of the lineup, hitting in the three hole for the third consecutive start. Through 35 at-bats, Perez has 10 hits including one double, two triples and a home run with five RBI and four runs scored.

28m agoLoperfido is expected to be called up from Triple-A Sugar Land by the Astros ahead of their series with Cleveland beginning Tuesday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Loperfido has been on a tear at Triple-A, batting .287 with 13 home runs, 27 RBI, 31 runs scored and five stolen bases over 101 at-bats in 25 games so far this season. He's played both first base and outfield, giving him a better shot of sticking around the majors if he hits the ground running.

3m agoEmbiid provided 27 points (7-19 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 12-14 FT), 10 rebounds, six assists, two blocks and three steals across 44 minutes during Sunday's 97-92 loss to New York in Game 4 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Embiid led all Philadelphia players in scoring, rebounds, blocks and steals while handing out a half-dozen assists in an all-around performance in a losing effort against New York. Despite dealing with a lingering knee injury throughout the series, Embiid has played in all four games and has tallied at least 25 points, eight rebounds and five assists in three straight outings. Look for Embiid to put together another strong outing in Game 5 to help the 76ers avoid elimination in a win-or-go-home contest.

Anunoby put forth a well-rounded performance to help New York take a commanding 3-1 lead over Philadelphia, finishing second on the team in scoring and rebounds en route to a double-double performance. Anunoby, who also recorded a team-high-tying trio of blocks, recorded his first double-double of the postseason while posting his fourth consecutive game in double figures in scoring.

Hart dominated Game 4 on the glass, leading all players in the contest in rebounds to go along with a handful of assists despite not making a single shot from the field in a winning effort. Hart, who ended three boards shy of the 20-rebound mark, became the first player in NBA playoff history to have over 15 rebounds and five assists while not converting on a shot from the field. Hart has impressed on the glass this postseason, hauling in 13 or more boards in three straight outings.

Brunson put on a show Sunday to help New York take a commanding 3-1 lead against Philadelphia, leading all players in the contest in scoring and assists while setting a playoff career high in scoring and the most points scored by a Knicks players in a playoff game. Brunson has been on a tear as of late, becoming the first player in NBA playoff history with over 85 points and 20 assists in a two-game span.

Georgiev allowed a first period goal on the fifth shot of the game but then kicked aside the next 22 shots to keep the Jets off the scoreboard. After a poor performance in game one, Georgiev has only allowed five goals on 77 shots for a .935 save percentage in the last three games. The Avalanche will look to move on to round two when they visit Winnipeg on Tuesday.

Jets' Connor Hellebuyck: Three consecutive losses
1h agoHellebuyck gave up four goals on 30 shots in Sunday's 5-1 loss to the Avalanche. He was pulled after the second period.
Hellebuyck allowed all four goals in the first two periods, including two on the power play. He has now allowed 19 goals on 131 shots and has not topped a .900 save percentage in any game in the first round. Hellebuyck ended up being relieved of his duties after the second frame for backup Laurent Brossoit. In order for the Jets to make a comeback in the series, they need Hellebuyck to get back to his Vezina-calibre ways for the remaining games. Winnipeg will host Colorado on Tuesday.
