Tank Dell HOU WR
Texans' Tank Dell: Engages in workout Saturday
4h agoDell (leg) ran and performed drills Saturday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Dell is recovering from what has been described as a "clean flesh wound" to his left leg sustained as an innocent bystander in a shooting in Florida in late April. The wideout's workout Saturday suggests that he's progressing well and confirms previous reports that the wound was minor. Given his activity Saturday, there appears to be a chance that Dell will participate in the Texans' OTAs, which begin Monday.

Chukwuebuka Godrick KC OT
Chiefs' Chukwuebuka Godrick: Arrested on misdemeanor charge
22h agoGodrick and teammate Wanya Morris were arrested on misdemeanor marijuana possession charges Thursday and released on bond Friday, according to Johnson County (Kansas) Sheriff reports, Grant Gordon of NFL.com reports.
Godrick and Morris were arrested Thursday night and released on a $2,500 bond Friday. Possession of marijuana is illegal in the state of Kansas. Godrick is expected to compete for a roster spot in 2024 after spending his rookie year on Kansas City's practice squad in 2023. It's unclear whether Godrick will face supplemental discipline from the NFL or the Chiefs as a result of this arrest.

Wanya Morris KC OT
Chiefs' Wanya Morris: Arrested for misdemeanor possession
22h agoMorris and teammate Chukwuebuka Godrick were arrested on misdemeanor marijuana possession charges Thursday and released on bond Friday, according to Johnson County (Kansas) Sheriff reports, Grant Gordon of NFL.com reports.
Morris and Godrick were arrested Thursday night and released on a $2,500 bond Friday. Possession of marijuana is illegal in the state of Kansas. Morris is expected to compete for the starting left tackle spot for the Chiefs in 2024. It's unclear whether Morris will face supplemental discipline from the NFL or the Chiefs as a result of this arrest.

Lamical Perine KC RB
La'Mical Perine: Waived by KC
1d agoPerine was waived by the Chiefs on Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Kansas City is parting ways with Perine after he rushed for 77 yards on 22 carries while adding three catches for 33 yards in 2023. The 2020 fourth-round draft pick of the Jets spent his first two seasons in New York. Perine will look to latch on with another team prior to training camp.

T.J. Hockenson MIN TE
Vikings' T.J. Hockenson: No timetable for return
1d agoHockenson (knee) said "they haven't really put a timeline on it" when asked Wednesday about a potential date for his in-season return to action, Grant Gordon of NFL.com reports.
Hockenson was specifically asked on the NFL Schedule Release '24 show whether he expects to be playing Week 5 versus the Jets in London. The standout tight end said of his recovery from a right ACL and MCL tear he's "kinda taking it day by day, week by week," and that "the progression has been incredible" even though a specific return timetable remains uncertain. Hockenson underwent surgery late January and doesn't seem likely to be ready for Week 1, but Week 5 could be within the realm of possibility. The Vikings have a Week 6 bye, however, so it's possible that a more realistic target for Hockenson's debut could be Week 7 and beyond.

Najee Harris PIT RB
Steelers' Najee Harris: Dropping weight for contract season
1d agoHarris' trainer said Friday the running back has dropped to around 235 pounds this offseason after playing at 242 during the 2023 season, and that he's increasingly motivated after the Steelers declined his fifth-year option, Kevin Patra of NFL.com reports.
Harris is heading into the final season of his rookie deal with Pittsburgh, so there's no doubt about his motivation to log a productive year and earn sizeable payday for 2025. Playing at a lower weight could help Harris' efficiency metrics, and there's also some reason to be optimistic that he now finds himself in a better scenario than 2023, when he set new career-high marks with eight rushing touchdowns and 4.1 YPC. Rookie first-round pick Troy Fautanu should represent an upgrade to the O-line, and while there are question marks surrounding Russell Wilson and Justin Fields, both have the potential to command a more effective offense than Kenny Pickett did. Harris is capable of handling 20-plus touches but also dependent on volume to produce, making the emergence of Jaylen Warren the biggest threat to his fantasy prospects.

Matt Chapman SF 3B
Giants' Matt Chapman: Four-hit game Saturday
4m agoChapman went 4-for-4 with a walk and four runs scored in Saturday's 14-4 win over the Rockies.
Chapman doubled and singled twice and also stole his fifth base of the season as he filled the stat sheet. The veteran third baseman had three hits and a steal in Friday's contest, as well, so perhaps he's finally starting to turn the corner. Chapman had been demoted to as low as seventh in the Giants' batting order earlier this month, but he's hit cleanup for the last two games.
-
Luis Matos SF CF
Giants' Luis Matos: Stays hot with six-RBI day
13m agoMatos went 3-for-5 with a home run and six RBI in Saturday's 14-4 victory over the Rockies.
Matos drove in a career-high five runs in Friday's series opener and then one-upped himself Saturday. He got the scoring going in this one with a two-out, three-run home run in the bottom of the first inning. The youngster then followed that with an RBI double in his next trip to the dish before capping off his night with a two-RBI single. Matos is just the fourth Giants player ever to notch consecutive five-RBI games, and he has tallied a whopping 17 RBI in seven contests since being recalled. While he had just a .661 OPS with the Giants last season and a .663 OPS this year at Triple-A Sacramento, keep in mind that Matos is a former top prospect who just turn 22 in January. At the very least, he's become a guy who needs to be rostered in five-outfielder leagues.

Landon Knack LAD SP
Dodgers' Landon Knack: Likely option to be called up
24m agoKnack is no longer listed as Triple-A Oklahoma City's starter Saturday, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.
Not coincidentally, the Dodgers don't have a starter listed for Sunday against the Reds, with manager Dave Roberts saying recalling Knack was one of the options they were considering. It would appear he's the guy they've settled on, whether it's as a traditionally starter or perhaps a bulk reliever.
-
Alex Cobb SF SP
Giants' Alex Cobb: Gets cortisone shot for shoulder
35m agoCobb was given another cortisone injection to combat his injured right shoulder, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Cobb began the season on the injured list while he continued to recover from hip surgery, but it's been elbow and shoulder issues since then that have plagued him. This is the second cortisone shot he's been given for his shoulder, and the hope is that it will be more effective than the first one. Cobb will be shut down for a bit and his timetable to return is open-ended.
-
Kyle Harrison SF SP
Giants' Kyle Harrison: Good enough for win
44m agoHarrison (4-1) picked up the win Saturday versus the Rockies, yielding three runs on five hits and two walks over five frames. He notched four strikeouts.
Harrison was originally supposed to start Friday but got pushed back a day, with the Giants indicating it was because they were keeping an eye on his workload. His velocity was down a bit Saturday and he had thrown only 79 pitches over his five frames before getting pulled. While not overly sharp, Harrison was still good enough against the Rockies to pick up his fourth victory of the season. While the left-hander's 3.60 ERA and 1.27 WHIP have been solid, he's been a bit of a disappointment from a strikeouts perspective with just 49 over 55 innings.
-
Ty Blach COL RP
Rockies' Ty Blach: Roughed up in San Fran
1h agoBlach (1-2) took the loss Saturday in San Francisco, allowing six runs on seven hits and one walk over three innings. He struck out three.
The Giants tallied 18 hits and 14 runs in this one, with Blach and reliever Nick Mears (six runs in two-thirds of an inning) absorbing the big blows. Blach was given another start after holding the Rangers to one run over five innings his last time out, but he might be headed back to long relief after this effort. If he does get another turn, it would likely come next week at home versus the Phillies.

Mike Conley MIN PG
Timberwolves' Mike Conley: Questionable for Sunday
1h agoConley (Achilles) is questionable for Sunday's Game 7 against Denver.
After missing Game 5 with this same injury, Conley played in Game 6 Thursday and finished with 13 points, five assists, four rebounds and one block in 31 minutes. With Minnesota's season on the line, Conley will likely attempt to power through the issue again.
-
Luka Doncic DAL PG
Mavericks' Luka Doncic: Available Saturday
2h agoDoncic (knee) is available for Saturday's Game 6 against the Thunder.
Doncic has been pushing through questionable and probable tags throughout the playoffs with various injuries, but he's yet to miss a single game. Look for him to see his usual workload Saturday.
-
Jamal Murray DEN PG
Nuggets' Jamal Murray: Questionable for Sunday
3h agoMurray is questionable to play in Sunday's Game 7 against the Timberwolves due to a left calf strain.
Murray has been listed as questionable throughout the entire series, but that's not surprising, as the star point guard has been dealing with a left calf strain since the end of Denver's first-round series against the Lakers. The Nuggets need Murray to be at his best if they want to win Sunday, as he's coming off a woeful showing in the Game 6 loss on Thursday, scoring 10 points while shooting 4-for-18 from the field.
-
OG Anunoby NY SF
Knicks' OG Anunoby: Upgraded to questionable
3h agoAnunoby (hamstring) has been upgraded to questionable for Sunday's Game 7 against the Pacers.
The questionable tag is all there is work with right now in terms of specifics, but New York fans will be thrilled that there's a chance Anunoby is able return for the first time since Game 2. There should be additional clarity on Anunoby's status following the Sunday morning shootaround.
-
Josh Hart NY SF
Knicks' Josh Hart: Iffy for Game 7 with abdominal strain
3h agoHart suffered an abdominal strain during Friday's Game 6 against Indiana, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. He's officially listed as questionable for Sunday's Game 7.
Hart exited Friday's Game 6 early with abdominal soreness but further testing indicated that Hart's dealing with a strained abdomen. Even if Hart gets the green light, it's unlikely that he'd be at 100 percent considering the recency of the issue. If the 28-year-old can't go, expect Miles McBride. Alec Burks and Precious Achiuwa to see more minutes.
-
Doug McDermott IND SF
Pacers' Doug McDermott: Cracks rotation in victory
13h agoMcDermott supplied zero points (0-1 FG) in three minutes during Friday's 116-103 victory over the Knicks in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
McDermott played three minutes to close the game Friday, at which point the Pacers had the game sealed up. Having played a total of just 19 minutes in the series, it's safe to say that McDermott is not going to play a role in determining the outcome of what has been a fantastic series between two bitter rivals.
-
Ilya Mikheyev VAN RW
Canucks' Ilya Mikheyev: Out Saturday
5h agoMikheyev (undisclosed) isn't expected to play Saturday against Edmonton in Game 6, per Thomas Drance of The Athletic.
Mikheyev also missed Thursday's 3-2 Game 5 victory over the Oilers. He has no points, a minus-4 rating, 11 shots, nine hits and three blocks in 10 playoff contests this year. Mikheyev's continued absence will likely result in Vasily Podkolzin remaining in the lineup for the second straight game.
-
Arturs Silovs VAN G
Canucks' Arturs Silovs: First off ahead of Game 6
7h agoSilovs was the first goalie off the ice at the morning skate, per Thomas Drance of The Athletic, indicating he will guard the road net Saturday in Game 6 against Edmonton.
Silovs is coming off a 21-save performance in Thursday's 3-2 victory over the Oilers in Game 5. He has posted a 2.62 GAA and a .907 save percentage through eight appearances this postseason en route to a 5-3 record. Edmonton ranks second in the 2024 playoffs with 3.80 goals per game.
-
Stuart Skinner EDM G
Oilers' Stuart Skinner: Back in net
8h agoSkinner will guard the home crease in Game 6 against Vancouver on Saturday, Gene Principe of Sportsnet reports.
Skinner ceded the crease to Calvin Pickard in Edmonton's last two contests after struggling to a .793 save percentage in the first three games of the series. With the Oilers now down 3-2, they'll turn back to Skinner as they look to force a Game 7. The 25-year-old netminder is 5-3-0 overall in the postseason with an .877 save percentage and 3.22 GAA.
-
Brett Pesce CAR D
Hurricanes' Brett Pesce: Diagnosed with fractured fibula
9h agoPesce (lower leg) has been dealing with a fractured fibula near his ankle, Chip Alexander of The Raleigh News & Observer reports.
Pesce missed the final nine games of Carolina's postseason run, including the entire second-round series against the Rangers, after suffering the injury in Game 2 of the opening round versus the Islanders. Pesce had three goals, 10 points and a plus-10 rating in 70 regular-season games this year. The 29-year-old blueliner is set to be an unrestricted free agent this offseason -- if healthy, Pesce should be one of the top names available.
-
Remi Poirier DAL G
Stars' Remi Poirier: Recalled from minors
9h agoPoirier was summoned from AHL Texas on Saturday.
The 22-year-old netminder was 17-16-4 with a 3.19 GAA and a .904 save percentage in 38 games during the regular season. Poirier has yet to play a game at the NHL level.
-
Fredrik Karlstrom DAL C
Stars' Fredrik Karlstrom: Joins big club
10h agoKarlstrom was recalled from AHL Texas on Saturday.
Karlstrom spent the entire 2023-24 campaign with Texas after playing in five games with Dallas during the 2022-23 campaign. He had 21 goals and 44 points in 72 appearances during the 2023-24 regular season. The 26-year-old forward was also productive in the postseason, picking up three goals and five assists in seven games.
