Matt Hennessy PHI C
Eagles' Matt Hennessy: Active for OTAs
6h agoHennessy (knee) was an active participant at the Eagles' OTAs this past week, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Hennessy was unavailable for the entirety of the 2023 campaign with a knee injury, but he looks to be a full go ahead of 2024. The 26-year-old will likely operate as a depth option behind Landon Dickerson and Tyler Steen at offensive guard this season.
-
Jake Hanson NYJ C
Jets' Jake Hanson: Active at OTAs
9h agoHanson (concussion) is participating at the Jets' organized training activities, Zach Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports.
Hanson was placed on New York's injured reserve prior to last season's final week. It seems as though he has since cleared all the league's concussion protocols, given his presence at OTAs. He is projected to compete for a depth role on the team's offensive line in the upcoming season.
-
Tyrone Wheatley Jr. NE OT
Patriots' Tyrone Wheatley: Participating in OTAs
11h agoWheatley (knee) is participating in the Patriots' organized team activities, Greg A. Bedard of the Boston Sports Journal reports.
Wheatley went on New England's injured reserve in October of last season due to a knee injury. His participation at OTAs indicates his health is back up to par at this point. Barring any setbacks, he will continue competing for a depth offensive line role heading into the season.
-
Daniel Ekuale NE DT
Patriots' Daniel Ekuale: Active at OTAs
14h agoEkuale (biceps) is participating in the Patriots' organized team activities, Steven Senne of the Idaho State Journal reports.
Ekuale's season ended in September of last year after the Patriots placed him on injured reserve with a torn biceps. His participation at OTAs indicates his health is back up to par. The veteran defensive tackle is projected to provide depth on New England's interior defensive line this season.

Brian O'Neill MIN OT
Vikings' Brian O'Neill: Practicing during OTAs
1d agoO'Neill (foot) took part in practice Friday, Craig Peters of the team's official site reports.
O'Neill played in only one of Minnesota's final four games last season with what was eventually disclosed as a small fracture in his left foot. He appears to be back to full health and is slated to work as the Vikings' starting right tackle for the 2024 campaign.
-
Thayer Munford LV OT
Raiders' Thayer Munford: Participating in OTAs
1d agoMunford (knee) has been taking part in offseason practices, Mike Moraitis of The Sporting News reports.
Munford missed the Raiders' final game last season due to a knee injury but now appears to be back to full health. He's slated to start at right tackle for Las Vegas in the coming campaign.

Jeffrey Springs TB SP
Rays' Jeffrey Springs: Throws bullpen session
11m agoSprings (elbow/lat) threw a 20-pitch bullpen session Saturday, MLB.com reports.
Springs resumed throwing Thursday, but Saturday's activity marked his return to the mound. He threw primarily fastballs and changeups and will retake the mound Tuesday. If that goes well, the next step could be a rehab assignment. Unsurprisingly, the Rays are planning to be cautious with Springs, as he'll begin his rehab work by throwing only one inning while gradually building from there.
-
Colin Poche TB RP
Rays' Colin Poche: Set for rehab assignment
22m agoPoche (back) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Durham on Sunday, MLB.com reports.
Poche's last documented activity was May 22, when he threw a 15-pitch bullpen session. He'll likely only need a couple of appearances in Durham before being activated.

Will Smith KC RP
Royals' Will Smith: Handling low-leverage role well
28m agoSmith has allowed two runs over nine innings since the start of May.
Smith doesn't have the best control, having allowed six hits and three walks with just five strikeouts in that span. He's also picked up two of his four holds in that stretch, though manager Matt Quatraro has mostly kept Smith out of high-leverage situations since early April. The left-hander's season-long numbers remain poor (6.38 ERA, 1.58 WHIP, 12:8 K:BB), but he's been less volatile recently. With James McArthur, John Schreiber and Chris Stratton all pitching at a mediocre level in May, there could eventually be a path to high-leverage chances for Smith if he can keep performing well.
-
Dairon Blanco KC LF
Royals' Dairon Blanco: Picks up steal in loss
33m agoBlanco went 0-for-2 with a walk, a stolen base and one run scored in Saturday's 7-3 loss to the Padres.
Blanco briefly looked to be claiming a larger role in mid-May, but he's since returned to his usual status as a fourth outfielder. His steal Saturday was his first since May 13, giving him 12 thefts on the year. He's added a decent .255/.323/.364 slash line with one home run, four RBI, 15 runs scored and three doubles over 63 plate appearances. Blanco's last two starts have come against right-handed pitchers, but it appears that's more to give Kyle Isbel regular rest than it is a sign of Blanco earning a larger role.
-
Slade Cecconi ARI SP
Diamondbacks' Slade Cecconi: Solid in no-decision
36m agoCecconi did not factor into the decision in Saturday's win over the Mets, allowing one run on five hits and no walks with four strikeouts over 4.2 innings.
Cecconi was recalled from Triple-A Reno after Zac Gallen (hamstring) was placed on the injured list and looked sharp despite posting a 8.41 ERA and 1.38 WHIP in four May appearances. His only blemish was a solo home run by Mark Vientos to lead off the fifth inning, but he was pulled at 71 pitches and unable to qualify for the win. On the season, Ceconni now owns a 5.59 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 26:8 K:BB through 37 innings and should remain in the rotation as long as Zac Gallen is on the shelf.
-
Christian Walker ARI 1B
Diamondbacks' Christian Walker: Grand slam in win
37m agoWalker went 1-for-4 with a grand slam in a 10-5 win over the Mets on Saturday.
With the bases loaded and two outs in the third inning, Walker hit a grand slam off Sean Manaea to open the scoring. It was Walker's second night in a row with a homer, and he has now reached base in 10 straight games dating back to May 21. That stretch has included four home runs and eight RBI, and Walker is now up to 12 home runs and 38 RBI on the season.

Giannis Antetokounmpo MIL PF
Bucks' Giannis Antetokounmpo: Will play for Greece
8h agoAntetokounmpo (calf) will play for Greece in the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament, Evan Sidery of Forbes Sports reports.
Antetokounmpo missed the final three games of the Bucks' regular season, followed by their six playoff games prior to being eliminated by the Pacers. The superstar forward revealed following Game 6 that he was "not close" to returning to the Bucks lineup due to his calf strain. There will be roughly a two-month gap between Milwaukee's final contest and Greece's first qualifying game, and it appears the 29-year-old will be back to full health. Barring any setbacks, he should be at full strength for the start of the 2024-25 season. The two-time MVP averaged 30.4 points, 11.5 rebounds and a career-high 6.5 assists to go along with 1.2 steals, 1.1 blocks and 0.5 triples across 35.2 minutes in 73 regular-season games last season.

Nickeil Alexander-Walker MIN SF
Timberwolves' Nickeil Alexander-Walker: Minimal impact in loss
1d agoAlexander-Walker recorded zero points (0-2 FG, 0-1 3Pt), one assist and two steals in 14 minutes during Thursday's 124-103 loss to the Mavericks in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals.
Alexander-Walker averaged just 3.4 points, 1.6 assists and 1.2 rebounds in 15.4 minutes across the Western Conference. He also struggled mightily with his efficiency, shooting 28.6 percent from the field and 18.8 percent from three across the five contests. However, the 25-year-old guard converted 39.1 percent of his 4.1 three-point attempts per game during the regular season and will head into the 2024-25 campaign under the last year of his two-year, $9 million contract.
-
Kyle Anderson MIN SF
Timberwolves' Kyle Anderson: Struggles with efficiency
1d agoAnderson provided seven points (3-9 FG, 1-4 3Pt), three rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal over 33 minutes during Thursday's 124-103 loss to the Mavericks in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals.
Anderson's 33 minutes played in Game 5 were his highest of the series, largely due to his role in guarding Luka Doncic. Anderson will end the Western Conference Finals averaging 7.4 points, 3.4 assists and 2.8 rebounds in 22.4 minutes across the five contests. The 30-year-old forward will head into the offseason as an unrestricted free agent. Anderson's future in Minnesota is uncertain as he went from averaging 28.4 minutes across 69 appearances, including 46 starts in 2022-23, to 22.6 minutes across 79 appearances, just 10 of which were starts, in 2023-24.
-
Rudy Gobert MIN C
Timberwolves' Rudy Gobert: Plays reduced minutes in Game 5
1d agoGobert provided nine points (4-8 FG, 1-2 FT), five rebounds, one assist and one steal in 26 minutes during Thursday's 124-103 loss to the Mavericks in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals.
Gobert's 26 minutes were his lowest of the series despite recording just one foul. The 2023-24 Defensive Player of the Year was often forced to play away from the rim and come out to meet Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving on the perimeter in the pick-and-roll. Gobert averaged 11.8 points, 7.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 34.0 minutes across the five games against Dallas.
-
Karl-Anthony Towns MIN PF
Timberwolves' Karl-Anthony Towns: Goes down swinging
1d agoTowns ended Thursday's 124-103 loss to the Mavericks in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals with 28 points (9-20 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 9-10 FT), 12 rebounds, two assists and one steal across 38 minutes.
Despite putting up his best game of the series Thursday, Towns' efforts weren't enough to avoid defeat. The 28-year-old big man tied Anthony Edwards for a team-high 28 points and led Minnesota in rebounding. Towns will finish the Western Conference Finals averaging 19.6 points, 8.4 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 33.2 minutes. He also struggled mightily with his efficiency, shooting just 37.9 percent from the field and 24.2 percent from three across the five games.
-
Anthony Edwards MIN SG
Timberwolves' Anthony Edwards: Efficient in Game 5 loss
1d agoEdwards logged 28 points (10-18 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 4-6 FT), nine rebounds, six assists, one block and one steal over 43 minutes during Thursday's 124-103 loss to the Mavericks in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals.
Edwards recorded his second-highest scoring output of the Western Conference Finals in Game 5 but wasn't able to avoid elimination. After struggling with his efficiency to begin the series, the star guard managed to post 43.0/40.6/75.0 shooting splits over the five games. Against Dallas, Edwards averaged 24.6 points, 8.8 rebounds, 7.8 assists and 1.0 steals in 41.4 minutes.

Evan Rodrigues FLA C
Panthers' Evan Rodrigues: Assists on opening goal
1m agoRodrigues registered a primary assist in Saturday's 2-1 series-clinching win over the Rangers in Game 6.
Rodrigues was back on the board in Saturday's win after being held off the scoresheet since Game 3. He added three shots on goal in 15:14 of ice time. Rodrigues isn't relied upon much for offensive production, but he's currently playing on Florida's second line with Matthew Tkachuk and Sam Bennett. Rodrigues is up to three goals and five assists with an even plus-minus rating in 17 playoff contests.
-
Sam Bennett FLA C
Panthers' Sam Bennett: Extends goal streak in win
12m agoBennett potted his sixth goal of the postseason in Saturday's 2-1 series-clinching win over New York in Game 6.
Bennett opened the scoring in the first period after being set up by Evan Rodrigues. Bennett has elevated his game at a crucial point of the postseason -- he has goals in three straight contests and he finished this series with six points in as many games. The 27-year-old added four shots, three hits, one block and a plus-1 rating in 15:27 of ice time Saturday night. Bennett is up to six goals, four assists and a plus-3 rating through 12 playoff appearances.
-
Sergei Bobrovsky FLA G
Panthers' Sergei Bobrovsky: Helps eliminate Rangers
23m agoBobrovsky turned aside 23 of 24 shots on goal in Saturday's 2-1 series-clinching victory over New York in Game 6.
Bobrovsky faced less than 24 shots on net for the third time over the Panthers' last four contests. Florida's style of play has allowed the netminder not to be overworked en route to the team's second consecutive trip to the Stanley Cup Finals. The Panthers will face either Edmonton or Dallas in the final round of the postseason. Bob is 12-5 with a 2.20 GAA and a .908 save percentage in 17 playoff appearances this year.
-
Igor Shesterkin NYR G
Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Guarding goal in Game 6
4h agoShesterkin will protect the road goal versus the Panthers in Saturday's Game 6, Mollie Walker of the New York Post reports.
Shesterkin will get the nod with the Rangers facing elimination for the first time in these playoffs. After starting the postseason with nine straight wins, Shesterkin has gone 3-5 with a 2.67 GAA and a .915 save percentage over his last eight contests. He's actually been sharper versus the Panthers with a .928 save percentage, but he hasn't gotten enough goal support. If the Rangers win Saturday, Game 7 is Monday at Madison Square Garden.
-
Jani Hakanpaa DAL D
Stars' Jani Hakanpaa: Unavailable Sunday
7h agoHakanpaa (lower body) won't be an option for Game 6 against Edmonton on Sunday, per Stars radio host Owen Newkirk .
Hakanpaa will miss his 32nd straight contest, including his 19th consecutive playoff outing. It remains unclear when he will be ready to return to the lineup. Hakanpaa registered two goals, 12 points, 56 shots on net, 196 hits and 123 blocked shots in 64 regular-season outings during the 2023-24 campaign.
-
Jimmy Vesey NYR LW
Rangers' Jimmy Vesey: Practicing in non-contact jersey
12h agoVesey (upper body) is at practice Saturday in a non-contact jersey, Dan Rosen of NHL.com reports.
Vesey was injured eight days ago in Game 2 against Florida on May 24 and was deemed week-to-week. The 31-year-old winger has a goal and two assists through 12 appearances this postseason.
