Ro Torrence 2005 CB
Seahawks' Ro Torrence: Lands with Seahawks
5h agoSeattle signed Torrence to a contract Friday, Howard Balzer of GoPHNX.com reports.
Torrence wasn't selected in the NFL Draft in late April but will get a shot to make his case for a roster or practice-squad spot after signing with the Seahawks. The 6-foot-3 defensive back played the final two seasons of college with Arizona State and totaled 37 tackles (including 2.0 sacks) along with an interception in 2023. Torrence allowed just 20 receptions in coverage last season, the lowest total among Pac-12 cornerbacks with at least 300 snaps played in coverage during the regular season.

Kitan Oladapo GB SAF
Packers' Kitan Oladapo: Undergoes toe surgery
6h agoOladapo (toe) has undergone surgery and is not expected to be ready for OTAs, Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Although he will miss OTAs, the team remains optimistic that Clark will be ready for training camp. He suffered a stress fracture doing drills on the turf at the NFL combine. The rookie was the third safety selected by the Packers in the 2024 NFL Draft, following Xavier McKinney and Anthony Johnson. The Oregon State product will need to get his health back to bar in order to make an impression during training camp.

Le'Raven Clark PHI OT
Eagles' Le'Raven Clark: Placed on IR
6h agoThe Eagles placed Clark on injured reserve Friday.
It is unclear what Clark's injury is or how he sustained it, but he is a rare offseason addition to IR. This will allow the Eagles' some roster flexibility going forward. The journeyman failed to make a roster or practice squad during the 2023 season, but will look to bounce back once his health is back up to par.

Tyler Harrell 2005 WR
Jets' Tyler Harrell: Joins Jets
6h agoThe Jets signed Harrell on Friday, Ethan Greenberg and John Pullano of the team's official site report.
Harrell totaled four receptions for 45 yards as a sixth-year senior at Miami in 2023. The Jets are thin at wide receiver going into 2024, so he could be in the competition for the last few spots on their final depth chart.
-
Shi Smith KC WR
Shi Smith: Done in Kansas City
7h agoThe Chiefs waived Smith on Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Smith did not appear in a regular-season game in 2023, and now Kansas City has decided to let him go ahead of 2024. He'll have to look for his next opportunity with a different squad.
-
Anthony Miller KC WR
Anthony Miller: Let go by Chiefs
7h agoKansas City released Miller on Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Miller initially signed with the Chiefs back in January, but after using both free agency and the draft to add depth at wide receiver, Kansas City has now chosen to part ways with him. He hasn't appeared in a regular-season game since 2021.

Andy Pages LAD RF
Dodgers' Andy Pages: Tallies four hits
10m agoPages went 4-for-5 with one RBI in Friday's win over Atlanta.
Pages set a new career best Friday night with four hits, all singles. The Dodgers rookie drove in the game-winning run, singling home Will Smith for the walk-off victory in the 11th inning. Pages has enjoyed a productive start to his big league career, slashing .333/.354/.567 with three home runs, 11 RBI and 12 runs scored over 65 plate appearances.
-
Gavin Stone LAD SP
Dodgers' Gavin Stone: Strikes out five in no-decision
12m agoStone did not factor into the decision Friday against Atlanta, allowing one run on five hits one walk over six innings. He struck out five.
Stone looked solid Friday night against a tough Atlanta lineup, generating 14 whiffs and five punchouts. His only blemish on the evening was a 449-foot solo shot allowed to Austin Riley in the first inning. Stone has made four straight starts allowing two or fewer runs, tossing a 2.35 ERA in 23 innings over that span. The Dodgers right-hander is slated to make his next start against the Marlins at home.
-
Raisel Iglesias ATL RP
Braves' Raisel Iglesias: Blows save in extras
14m agoIglesias blew the save Friday against the Dodgers. He allowed one unearned run on one hit and no walks with no strikeouts over one inning.
Iglesias entered the bottom of the tenth inning tasked with retiring the top of the Dodgers order to earn a save. He promptly retired Mookie Betts on two pitches before yielding a game-tying RBI single to Shohei Ohtani. However, since the automatic runner scored, the Atlanta closer escaped Friday night without a hit to his ERA, which now stands at 2.03 over 13.1 innings.
-
Charlie Morton ATL SP
Braves' Charlie Morton: Effective in no-decision
15m agoMorton did not factor into the decision Friday against the Dodgers, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out five.
Morton held the vaunted Dodgers lineup in check Friday night, pitching well enough to earn his third straight quality start. Over those three starts, the 40-year-old has thrown 19 innings to the tune of a 1.89 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 15:5 K:BB. Morton is slated to face the Mets on the road in his next start.
-
Jake Cronenworth SD 1B
Padres' Jake Cronenworth: Goes yard again
35m agoCronenworth went 3-for-5 with a solo homer in Friday's win over Arizona.
Cronenworth smacked a 398-foot home run off Slade Cecconi in the fourth inning to give him his third homer in five games. The Padres first baseman also extended his hit streak to seven games, batting .370 (10-for-27) during that time. Cronenworth has started the season on a tear, slashing .279/.353/.516 with six home runs, 25 RBI and 18 runs scored over 142 plate appearances.
-
Fernando Tatis SD RF
Padres' Fernando Tatis: Homers among three hits
37m agoTatis went 3-for-5 with a home run, three RBI and two runs scored in Friday's victory over the Diamondbacks.
Tatis opened the game's scoring in the fourth inning with a two-run home run off Slade Cecconi. The Padres right fielder added an additional RBI the next inning with a single. His performance Friday night was a welcome sight as Tatis entered slumping a bit, having not homered since April 19, hitting .130 (6-for-46) over that span.

Franz Wagner ORL PF
Magic's Franz Wagner: Perfect from line in victory
2h agoWagner amassed 26 points (7-16 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 11-11 FT), five rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal in 42 minutes during Friday's 103-96 win over the Cavaliers in Game 6 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Wagner went a perfect 11-of-11 from the line, helping the Magic to an impressive Game 6 victory. It was another strong performance by Wagner, who continues to develop into a key piece for Orlando. Game 7 will take place Sunday, with both teams vying for a second-round berth against the high-flying Celtics.
-
Cole Anthony ORL PG
Magic's Cole Anthony: Closes game Friday
3h agoAnthony accumulated nine points (4-10 FG, 1-3 3Pt), three rebounds, one assist and one steal across 19 minutes during Friday's 103-96 win over the Cavaliers in Game 6 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Anthony closed the game Friday, providing the Magic with some much-needed floor spacing. With Gary Harris (hamstring) unavailable, Anthony slid into a larger role. That could stick for Game 7 should Harris remain sidelined.
-
Joe Ingles ORL SG
Magic's Joe Ingles: Limited in Game 6 victory
3h agoIngles accumulated two assists over eight minutes during Friday's 103-96 win over the Cavaliers in Game 6 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Ingles played just eight minutes in the win, serving as more of a cheerleader than a player. Now in the twilight of his career, Ingles provides the team with a much-needed veteran presence.
-
Marcus Morris CLE PF
Cavaliers' Marcus Morris: Quiet in start
3h agoMorris registered two points (1-7 FG, 0-4 3Pt), eight rebounds and two assists across 27 minutes during Friday's 103-96 loss to Orlando in Game 6 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Morris played 27 minutes as the starting power forward in the Game 6 loss. The Cavaliers will be hoping Jarrett Allen can overcome his rib injury and get back on the floor for a must-win Game 7 on Sunday.
-
Tristan Thompson CLE C
Cavaliers' Tristan Thompson: Logs 12 minutes Friday
3h agoThompson posted two points (1-3 FG), two rebounds and one block across 12 minutes during Friday's 103-96 loss to the Magic in Game 6 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Thompson played as the primary backup behind Evan Mobley, something that Cleveland fans may be hoping will not happen again. Other than providing additional size, Thompson rarely has much of an impact on the court in the late stages of his career. Jarrett Allen (ribs) will almost certainly be doing everything possible to make it back for Game 7.
-
Donovan Mitchell CLE SG
Cavaliers' Donovan Mitchell: Plays lone hand in loss
3h agoMitchell finished Friday's 103-96 loss to the Magic in Game 6 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs with 50 points (22-36 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 3-6 FT), four rebounds, four assists and one block in 42 minutes.
Mitchell outscored the rest of the Cavaliers roster, dropping 50 points in the loss. He scored all of Cleveland's points in the final quarter. He is going to need more help on the offensive end should the Cavaliers hope to advance to the second round, where the Celtics await.
-
Adin Hill LV G
Golden Knights' Adin Hill: Shuts out Stars in Game 6
2m agoHill posted a 23-save shutout in Friday's 2-0 win over the Stars in Game 6.
Hill stepped up in a must-win scenario to force Game 7 on Sunday. He was strong throughout the game, which was a goalie duel between him and Jake Oettinger until Noah Hanifin put the Golden Knights ahead midway through the third period. Hill was on the bench for the first four games of the season, but it's tough to imagine head coach Bruce Cassidy turning away from the 27-year-old after this shutout.
-
Jake Oettinger DAL G
Stars' Jake Oettinger: Strong in loss
5m agoOettinger stopped 28 of 29 shots in Friday's 2-0 loss to the Golden Knights in Game 6. The second goal was an empty-netter.
Oettinger was sharp and occasionally spectacular in this contest, but his teammates couldn't solve Adin Hill at the other end of the ice. Oettinger gave up four goals in Game 1, but he's surrendered just nine tallies over the last five contests to give the Stars a solid chance against the defending champions. The 25-year-old is a near guarantee to start in Sunday's Game 7 at home, but he'll need more goal support if the Stars are to keep their playoff run alive.
-
Elias Pettersson VAN C
Canucks' Elias Pettersson: Snags assist Friday
8m agoPettersson logged an assist in Friday's 1-0 win over the Predators in Game 6.
Pettersson failed to score a goal in the first round, and he's now gone nine contests without a tally. He showed some life with an assist in three of the last four games, but the Canucks will need a lot more from one of their top players entering a more difficult second-round matchup with the Oilers. In addition to the three assists, Pettersson had eight shots on net, nine hits, seven blocked shots and a minus-2 rating over six appearances in the first round.
-
Brock Boeser VAN RW
Canucks' Brock Boeser: Earns helper in Game 6 win
12m agoBoeser logged an assist, three shots on goal and four PIM in Friday's 1-0 win over the Predators in Game 6.
Boeser was productive in the first round, picking up four goals, two assists, 16 shots on net and a plus-3 rating over six contests, highlighted by his hat trick in Game 4. The winger set up Pius Suter for the lone tally in Game 6 as well. Boeser will continue to be a key part of the Canucks' offense heading into a second-round matchup with the Oilers that could lead to high-scoring clashes.
-
Pius Suter VAN C
Canucks' Pius Suter: Scores in Friday's win
18m agoSuter scored a goal on five shots in Friday's 1-0 win over the Predators in Game 6.
Suter's goal with 1:39 left in the third period was the only goal in the contest. That was also the series-clinching tally, setting up the Canucks for a second-round matchup with the Oilers. Suter scored twice on 14 shots and added six hits over six first-round appearances while filling a middle-six role. The 27-year-old is well-regarded as a defensive forward, and he may be deployed in that nature frequently in the next round against a high-powered offense.
-
Arturs Silovs VAN G
Canucks' Arturs Silovs: Clinches series with shutout
32m agoSilovs posted a 28-save shutout in Friday's 1-0 win over the Predators in Game 6.
Silovs was dialed in from the start, earning his first NHL shutout -- regular season or playoffs -- to secure a 4-2 series win for the Canucks. The 23-year-old has allowed just five goals on 80 shots over three appearances since taking over for Casey DeSmith in goal beginning with Game 4. If Silovs continues to operate as the starter in the second round, he'll find a much more challenging task ahead versus the Oilers.
