3h agoO'Neill (foot) took part in practice Friday, Craig Peters of the team's official site reports.
O'Neill played in only one of Minnesota's final four games last season with what was eventually disclosed as a small fracture in his left foot. He appears to be back to full health and is slated to work as the Vikings' starting right tackle for the 2024 campaign.

Miller was hurt in the Jaguars' final preseason contest last August and missed the entire campaign. The 2023 fourth-round pick will look to make his NFL debut in 2024 and could work his way up to prominent role among the team's linebacker corps.

3h agoBootle (knee) participated in offseason practice Wednesday, per a video shared by Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site.
Bootle landed on injured reserve with a knee injury last November and didn't return for the remainder of the campaign. He began the year on the Panthers' practice squad but had started two straight games prior to getting hurt. Now that he's back to being healthy, Bootle will compete for a depth role in Carolina's secondary for the coming campaign.

Hamm was on injured reserve all of last season, though he was designated to return in early December. He now appears to be back to full health and will be able to compete for a depth role on Baltimore's defense during training camp.

4h agoThe Jets waived Stepp (undisclosed) from IR with an injury settlement Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Stepp reverted to IR with an undisclosed issue Thursday and reached an injury settlement one day later. He'll thus be eligible to join a new organization upon returning to health. The 24-year-old initially latched on with the Jets as an undrafted free agent May 13.

1m agoArenado went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 4-2 loss to the Phillies.
Arenado has homered in each of his last two games. The third baseman's power numbers are still way down -- he's at five homers and a .379 slugging percentage through 53 contests -- but this could be a sign of him heating up. On the year, he's batting .257 with 26 RBI, 22 runs scored, 10 doubles and no stolen bases over 226 plate appearances.

2m agoSears (4-4) allowed four runs on six hits and two walks over seven innings Friday, striking out five and taking a loss against Atlanta.
Sears allowed three runs through two innings but settled in to give Oakland a decent outing. It wasn't enough as the A's were limited to two runs in the loss. Sears has given up four runs in three of his last five starts, resulting in. 4.18 ERA during that span. He generated 14 whiffs Friday, his best total since recording a season-high 16 on April 27. Sears now owns a 4.01 ERA and a 45:19 K:BB through 67.1 innings. His next start is projected to be at home against the Mariners.

Iglesias notched his 14th save of the year with a fascinating outing. He gave up a leadoff double to Zach Gelof before recording three outs on three consecutive pitches. Gelof would come in to score after two straight groundouts but Atlanta secured the 4-2 win. Iglesias has converted six straight save chances and owns a 2.53 ERA through 21.1 innings.

Varsho's absence Friday shielded him from facing left-hander Bailey Falter, but the Blue Jays have now revealed they held the 27-year-old out due to illness rather than an unfavorable matchup. Davis Schneider moved from second base to left field Friday to cover for Varsho, and he may continue to do so if Varsho's condition doesn't improve Saturday.

Lopez worked around some trouble throughout the contest and turned in one of his best starts of the year. He recorded a season-high eight strikeouts with 16 whiffs, including nine with his slider. It was the first time he recorded more than five punchouts in a start since April 30. Lopez has produced six quality starts in 10 appearances, resulting in a 1.73 ERA through 57.1 frames. His next start is projected to be in Washington.

Larnach drew his fourth consecutive start hitting leadoff, as he appears to have secured that role against right-handed starters for the Twins. The 27-year-old outfielder launched a 401-foot home run off Ronel Blanco in fifth inning, extending Minnesota's lead to 4-1. Overall, Larnach is slashing .268/.327/.443 in 107 plate appearances this season.

Alexander-Walker averaged just 3.4 points, 1.6 assists and 1.2 rebounds in 15.4 minutes across the Western Conference. He also struggled mightily with his efficiency, shooting 28.6 percent from the field and 18.8 percent from three across the five contests. However, the 25-year-old guard converted 39.1 percent of his 4.1 three-point attempts per game during the regular season and will head into the 2024-25 campaign under the last year of his two-year, $9 million contract.

Anderson's 33 minutes played in Game 5 were his highest of the series, largely due to his role in guarding Luka Doncic. Anderson will end the Western Conference Finals averaging 7.4 points, 3.4 assists and 2.8 rebounds in 22.4 minutes across the five contests. The 30-year-old forward will head into the offseason as an unrestricted free agent. Anderson's future in Minnesota is uncertain as he went from averaging 28.4 minutes across 69 appearances, including 46 starts in 2022-23, to 22.6 minutes across 79 appearances, just 10 of which were starts, in 2023-24.

The 2023-24 Defensive Player of the Year was often forced to play away from the rim and come out to meet Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving on the perimeter in the pick-and-roll. Gobert averaged 11.8 points, 7.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 34.0 minutes across the five games against Dallas.

Despite putting up his best game of the series Thursday, Towns' efforts weren't enough to avoid defeat. The 28-year-old big man tied Anthony Edwards for a team-high 28 points and led Minnesota in rebounding. Towns will finish the Western Conference Finals averaging 19.6 points, 8.4 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 33.2 minutes. He also struggled mightily with his efficiency, shooting just 37.9 percent from the field and 24.2 percent from three across the five games.

Edwards recorded his second-highest scoring output of the Western Conference Finals in Game 5 but wasn't able to avoid elimination. After struggling with his efficiency to begin the series, the star guard managed to post 43.0/40.6/75.0 shooting splits over the five games. Against Dallas, Edwards averaged 24.6 points, 8.8 rebounds, 7.8 assists and 1.0 steals in 41.4 minutes.

Lively averaged 9.5 points, 7.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 blocks in 22.0 minutes across his four appearances in the Western Conference Finals.

Stankoven has just two helpers over five contests in the Western Conference Finals after picking up four points in the second round. The 21-year-old forward is at eight points, 33 shots on net, 21 hits, 17 blocked shots and a plus-6 rating over 18 playoff outings. He'll likely continue to see middle-six minutes as the Stars look to keep their season alive in Game 6 on Sunday.

Oettinger took back-to-back losses for the first time since the first two games of the playoffs, and now the Stars are facing elimination in Edmonton on Sunday. The Oilers' power play did most of the damage Friday, with Ryan Nugent-Hopkins scoring twice in the contest after the Stars had killed off all their penalties in the first four games of the series. Oettinger's role as starter is not in doubt, so he should be back between the pipes for Game 6.
