10h agoHollins, who was signed as a free agent by the Bills in March, has seen the receiver room fill out in the time since, with the Bills drafting Keon Coleman in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft while also adding veterans Curtis Samuel, Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Chase Claypool.
For a very brief period, Hollins was a starter on the otherwise lethal Buffalo offensive depth chart, but things have changed and it now looks as if the Bills will let several journeymen duke it out for slotting. With Buffalo being likely to feature running back James Cook and tight end Dalton Kincaid heavily in the passing game, it's difficult to envision Hollins having anything more than a depth role as a receiver that offers good size in the red zone, though we'll also note he's never caught more than four touchdowns in an NFL season.

Dell is recovering from what has been described as a "clean flesh wound" to his left leg sustained as an innocent bystander in a shooting in Florida in late April. The wideout's workout Saturday suggests that he's progressing well and confirms previous reports that the wound was minor. Given his activity Saturday, there appears to be a chance that Dell will participate in the Texans' OTAs, which begin Monday.

2d agoGodrick and teammate Wanya Morris were arrested on misdemeanor marijuana possession charges Thursday and released on bond Friday, according to Johnson County (Kansas) Sheriff reports, Grant Gordon of NFL.com reports.
Godrick and Morris were arrested Thursday night and released on a $2,500 bond Friday. Possession of marijuana is illegal in the state of Kansas. Godrick is expected to compete for a roster spot in 2024 after spending his rookie year on Kansas City's practice squad in 2023. It's unclear whether Godrick will face supplemental discipline from the NFL or the Chiefs as a result of this arrest.

2d agoPerine was waived by the Chiefs on Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Kansas City is parting ways with Perine after he rushed for 77 yards on 22 carries while adding three catches for 33 yards in 2023. The 2020 fourth-round draft pick of the Jets spent his first two seasons in New York. Perine will look to latch on with another team prior to training camp.

T.J. Hockenson MIN TEVikings' T.J. Hockenson: No timetable for return
2d agoHockenson (knee) said "they haven't really put a timeline on it" when asked Wednesday about a potential date for his in-season return to action, Grant Gordon of NFL.com reports.
Hockenson was specifically asked on the NFL Schedule Release '24 show whether he expects to be playing Week 5 versus the Jets in London. The standout tight end said of his recovery from a right ACL and MCL tear he's "kinda taking it day by day, week by week," and that "the progression has been incredible" even though a specific return timetable remains uncertain. Hockenson underwent surgery late January and doesn't seem likely to be ready for Week 1, but Week 5 could be within the realm of possibility. The Vikings have a Week 6 bye, however, so it's possible that a more realistic target for Hockenson's debut could be Week 7 and beyond.

2m agoTurang went 3-for-5 with a double, two RBI, a run scored and a steal in Sunday's loss to Houston.
Turang doubled, swiped third base and scored in the first inning. He later knocked a two-run single in the seventh. He's been swinging a hot bat all season and is officially entering breakout territory. After registering a brutal .585 OPS through 448 plate appearances in 2023, Turang owns a .314/.369/.431 slash line through 43 games this season. He's perfect in 18 stolen base attempts and has produced 15 multi-hit games.

Jameson Taillon CHC SPCubs' Jameson Taillon: Loses to former team
2m agoTaillon (3-2) allowed three runs on six hits and two walks while striking out four over 4.2 innings to take the loss Sunday versus the Pirates.
Taillon was a bit inefficient, throwing 55 of 92 pitches for strikes. This was the second start in a row where he failed to complete five innings, and it's the third time in a row he's walked multiple batters. The right-hander is now at a 2.20 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 22:10 K:BB through 32.2 innings over six starts, though his strong April has given way to a shakier May following a bout with back stiffness. Taillon is tentatively projected to make his next start on the road in St. Louis.

Oswald Peraza NYY 3BYankees' Oswald Peraza: Reinstated, optioned to Triple-A
4m agoPeraza (shoulder) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list and optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Sunday.
Peraza has been on the injured list since suffering a shoulder injury in February, but he began a rehab assignment May 7. Most recently, he went 0-for-4 with a strikeout in his only contest with Triple-A, where he will now remain for the time being. The organization will likely allow the 23-year-old to find his footing with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre before ultimately elevating him to the major-league roster down the road.

Kyle Tucker HOU RFAstros' Kyle Tucker: Leaves yard twice
8m agoTucker went 2-for-5 with two homers and four RBI in Sunday's win over the Brewers.
After striking out in his first three at-bats, Tucker belted a solo homer in the sixth inning and a three-run shot in the seventh. He's gone deep 10 times in his last 20 games after snapping a six-game drought Sunday. It was also his third multi-homer game and first since April 12. Tucker owns a 1.040 OPS with 33 RBI and 15 home runs, tying Gunnar Henderson for the MLB lead.

19m agoGarcia went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, two runs scored and a steal in Sunday's win over Oakland.
Garcia doubled and scored in the first inning and knocked an RBI double in the fifth. He's gone 12-for-40 (.300) with six extra-base hits and eight RBI over his last nine games. On the year, Garcia's slash line is up to .249/.294/.402 with 11 stolen bases, 18 extra-base hits and 30 RBI through 46 games.

26m agoRooker went 2-for-5 with a three-run homer and two runs scored in Sunday's loss to Kansas City.
Rooker belted a three-run shot in the ninth inning but it wasn't enough to mount a late comeback. It was his first homer since May 12 and six of his 11 long balls this year have come in May. Rooker is following up his 30-homer breakout season nicely, posting a .281/.358/.578 slash line with 18 extra-base hits and 32 RBI through 151 plate appearances.

4h agoConley (Achilles) will start Sunday's Game 7 against the Timberwolves.
Conley will shed a second consecutive questionable tag after missing Game 5 with an Achilles injury. The veteran guard put together a solid performance in Game 6 and was able to record 31 minutes, so he likely won't face any limitations during Sunday's win-or-go-home scenario.

Murray has been dealing with a left calf strain throughout the entire series, but he will shed another questionable tag and suit up Sunday. Murray has struggled to produce against Minnesota's stellar defense, but he will likely be called upon early and often in this win-or-go-home scenario.

Haliburton once again led the way for Indiana offensively in a winner-take-all victory, leading all Pacers in scoring and threes made while handing out a half-dozen assists to help the Pacers advance to the Eastern Conference Finals. Haliburton ended the series by scoring 20 or more points in four of the seven contests, adding at least five assists in every game against New York.

Nembhard provided Indiana with a boost offensively both scoring and distributing, ending as one of three players with 20 or more points while handing out a half-dozen assists and adding a handful of rebounds in a balanced Game 7 outing. Nembhard put forth his best game of the postseason to help the Pacers advance to the Eastern Conference Finals, surpassing the 20-point mark for the second time of the playoffs and for the first time in the series against New York.

McConnell provided a spark off the bench for Indiana in a winner-take-all contest, handing out a team-high assist total while ending as one of six players with a double-digit point total to help the Pacers advance to the Eastern Conference Finals. McConnell stepped up his level of play in the series against New York, recording at least 10 points and seven assists in three outings. The guard has surpassed the double-digit scoring mark in seven postseason contests, doing so in five of the seven games against the Knicks.

5h agoHart finished with 10 points (3-9 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 4-4 FT), eight rebounds, five assists and two steals over 37 minutes in Sunday's 130-109 loss to Indiana in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Hart once again gave all he had for New York in a winner-take-all battle, putting forth an all-around showing that included reaching double figures in scoring, ending two rebounds shy of the double-digit mark and adding a handful of assists as well as a team-high-tying pair of steals. Despite dealing with some injuries throughout the series against Indiana, Hart recorded at least 10 points and eight rebounds in five of the seven games in the series.

3h agoHenrique (ankle) will not suit up for Game 7 against Vancouver on Monday, Ryan Rishaug of TSN reports.
Henrique will miss his fifth straight contest Monday, and he dressed in just one game this series. The veteran forward scored two points in Game 1 against the Kings during the first round but has not scored a point in five straight appearances. His status for the next round -- if Edmonton wins Game 7 against the Canucks -- is unclear at this time.

Brock Boeser VAN RWCanucks' Brock Boeser: Out for Game 7
4h agoBoeser is dealing with a blood clotting issue and will not play in Monday's Game 7 against Edmonton, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Boeser's status moving forward is unclear, which would be a huge factor in the Western Conference Finals against Dallas if Vancouver wins Game 7. Fortunately, his condition is not considered to be life-threatening. He's scored seven goals and 12 points through 12 games this postseason, including a hat trick in Game 4 of the first round against Nashville. If Ilya Mikheyev (undisclosed) misses Game 7 as well, Sam Lafferty seems to be the most likely candidate to step in for Boeser.

Jesper Fast CAR RWHurricanes' Jesper Fast: Still in neck brace
11h agoFast (neck) was still wearing a neck brace Saturday while he continues to undergo tests to determine the severity of the injury, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports.
Fast was unavailable during the playoffs after suffering the injury in Carolina's regular-season finale April 16. The 32-year-old winger tallied six goals and 19 points in 73 regular-season games in a bottom-six role. Once the severity of his injury is diagnosed, Fast will focus on getting back to full health ahead of the 2024-25 season.

Hronek has been a non-factor on offense this postseason, posting one helper, a minus-4 rating and 11 shots on net through 12 appearances. He's added 23 hits and 15 blocked shots while maintaining a top-pairing role.

23h agoPettersson recorded an assist and two shots on goal in Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Oilers in Game 6.
Pettersson has earned two helpers in the last two games but still hasn't been living up to expectations offensively during the playoffs. He's at six points, 20 shots, 23 hits, 11 blocked shots and a minus-1 rating over 12 appearances. However, he's looked slightly better since moving to the wing alongside Elias Lindholm.

Nils Hoglander VAN LWCanucks' Nils Hoglander: Nets lone goal in loss
1d agoHoglander scored a goal on two shots in Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Oilers in Game 6.
Hoglander offered a quick response to Dylan Holloway's opening tally in the first period, but the Canucks' offense stalled out after that. The goal was Hoglander's first this postseason, and he's added just one assist with eight shots on net, 13 hits and a minus-2 rating over 10 appearances. The winger has been listed on the second line recently, but he's played a limited role with no power-play time, so there's little reason to think he'll soon turn a corner on offense.
