Lucas Patrick CHI OG
Saints' Lucas Patrick: Headed to Big Easy
6h agoThe Saints signed Patrick (calf) to a one-year contract Sunday, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.
Patrick appeared in 23 games with 20 starts over the past two seasons with Chicago. The 30-year-old was the team's starting center for almost the entire 2023 campaign, but he ended the year on IR due to an unspecified calf injury. Whe the nature of this issue was never revealed, Patrick now appears to be healthy again. He should now provide depth along the interior of New Orleans' offensive line.

Ramon Jefferson 2005 RB
Buccaneers' Ramon Jefferson: Inks deal with Tampa
6h agoThe Buccaneers signed Jefferson on Sunday, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports.
Jefferson was one of 26 players brought in on a tryout basis during Tampa Bay's rookie minicamp Friday and Saturday. The 5-foot-10 running back played at four different schools during his collegiate career, beginning at Maine in 2017. He spent his final two seasons with Kentucky after a standout stint at FCS Sam Houston, where he logged 1,907 yards on 299 carries across two years. However, he finished with just 28 rushes for 184 yards across 11 games with the Wildcats in 2023.

Kaden Davis ARI WR
Lions' Kaden Davis: Joining Detroit
10h agoThe Lions are signing Davis to a contract after he attended rookie camp on a tryout basis, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Davis was waived by the Cardinals in late April after spending most of last year on the team's practice squad. He was active for one contest during the campaign but didn't see any snaps. The 25-year-old will get a shot to compete for a roster spot among a wide-receiver corps that is headed by Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams.

Olumuyiwa Fashanu NYJ OT
Jets' Olumuyiwa Fashanu: Recovering from quad injury
10h agoFashanu strained his quadriceps while running the 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine and could miss some or all of OTAs due to the injury, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports.
Rosenblatt described the injury as minor, so Fashanu should be recovered well before the start of the regular season, but the 11th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft may not be ready to join his new teammates at the start of offseason workouts. The offensive tackle out of Penn State has been working off to the side with trainers during the Jets' rookie minicamp.
-
Bud Dupree ATL OLB
Chargers' Bud Dupree: Set to join Chargers
1d agoDupree will sign a two-year contract with the Chargers, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Dupree reportedly met with both the Falcons and Steelers recently in addition to the Chargers, and it appears that he'll end up with Los Angeles. The veteran edge rusher enjoyed a solid bounce-back campaign with Atlanta last season, recording 39 tackles (his most since 2019), including 6.5 sacks (his most since 2020). Dupree will add to an already formidable Chargers pass rush that also includes Joey Bosa (foot), Khalil Mack and Tuli Tuipulotu.

AJ Parker CAR CB
AJ Parker: Waived with non-football injury
1d agoThe Panthers waived Parker with an undisclosed non-football injury Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
The details and severity of Parker's injury are unknown, other than the fact that it did not occur on the football field. The cornerback will now be available to be claimed off waivers should any other teams show interest.

James McArthur KC RP
Royals' James McArthur: Allows run in ninth save
1m agoMcArthur allowed a run on one hit and did not walk or strike out a batter over one inning to earn the save in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Angels.
McArthur was tagged for a solo home run by Willie Calhoun in the ninth inning, but the Royals' lead was never in real danger. Over 4.2 innings in May, McArthur has yielded six runs (five earned), with three of the eight hits he's allowed in that span leaving the year. He's 9-for-12 in save opportunities while adding a hold, a 4.42 ERA and a 1.36 WHIP over 18.1 innings this season. The right-hander's shaky pitching of late hasn't cost him the closer job, but John Schreiber has been an excellent setup man and could take over if McArthur doesn't start locking things down.
-
Seth Lugo KC SP
Royals' Seth Lugo: Dominant in win
4m agoLugo (6-1) allowed one run on five hits while striking out 12 and walking none over eight innings to earn the win over the Angels on Sunday.
Quality of opponent aside, Lugo was excellent Sunday. He landed 77 of his 112 pitches for strikes and recorded double-digit strikeouts for the first time this season. It was also his first start without issuing a walk. The right-hander is now at a 1.66 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 48:12 K:BB through 59.2 innings over nine starts. Lugo's had good moments both as a starter and a reliever in his career, but his start to 2024 is a completely new level for the 34-year-old. He's projected to make his next start at home versus the Athletics.

Santiago Espinal CIN 3B
Reds' Santiago Espinal: Picks up fifth steal
9m agoEspinal went 2-for-5 with a stolen base in Sunday's 6-5 extra-inning loss to the Giants.
Espinal was one of two Reds with multiple hits in the game, and it was his first such performance since April 24. The infielder hit a poor .121 (4-for-33) over 11 contests in between multi-hit efforts. He's slashing .186/.245/.244 with one home run, 12 RBI, six runs scored and five steals over 30 games this season. Espinal has sat out the last four games where the Reds have faced a right-handed pitcher, though he's still been in the lineup against the last three southpaws they've faced.
-
Jonathan India CIN 2B
Reds' Jonathan India: Three hits, steal in loss
13m agoIndia went 3-for-5 with a stolen base in Sunday's 6-5 extra-inning loss to the Giants.
India posted his second multi-hit effort of May, but he's still hitting a modest .216 (8-for-37) for the month. All three of his hits Sunday were singles. The second baseman is up to .225/.331/.310 slash line with two home runs, four steals, 11 RBI, 12 runs scored, three doubles and a triple over 35 contests this season. Despite his lackluster hitting, India's fourth on the team in batting average and sixth in OPS, so it's unlikely he'll lose a starting role any time soon.
-
Zac Gallen ARI SP
Diamondbacks' Zac Gallen: Produces quality start
17m agoGallen (5-2) picked up the win Sunday against Baltimore, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks across six innings. He struck out four.
Gallen notched a second straight quality start, following up a one-hit gem against the Reds with Sunday's two-run showing against the O's. Three of the four hits against Gallen went for extra bases, allowing doubles to Anthony Santander and Jordan Westburg while Adley Rutschman slugged a solo homer in the sixth. Gallen owns a 2.86 ERA and a 1.11 WHIP across 44.0 innings in 2024. He's lined up for a home start against the Tigers next weekend.
-
Mike Ford CIN DH
Reds' Mike Ford: Goes deep in loss
18m agoFord went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Sunday's 6-5 extra-inning loss to the Giants.
Ford's homer tied the game at 5-5 in the eighth inning. The 31-year-old has gone 2-for-15 with a walk and two strikeouts over five games since he re-signed with the Reds on May 8 following his release from the organization May 4. Ford slashed .228/.323/.475 with 16 homers and 34 RBI over 84 contests with the Mariners last season, so he may have some power upside if he can claim a regular role.
-
Jamal Murray DEN PG
Nuggets' Jamal Murray: Available for Game 4
3h agoMurray (calf) will play in Sunday's Game 4 against Minnesota.
Murray has been dealing with a calf injury throughout the series and is yet to miss a game, so it isn't surprising to see him shed another questionable tag. After struggling in the first two games of the series, Murray bounced back in Game 3 with a 24-point outing on solid efficiency, and he will look to carry that momentum over to Sunday's matchup.
-
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope DEN SG
Nuggets' Kentavious Caldwell-Pope: Available Sunday
3h agoCaldwell-Pope (abdomen) will play in Sunday's Game 4 against the Timberwolves.
Caldwell-Pope was deemed questionable ahead of gametime due to a right abdominal contusion, but he will suit up for Sunday's matchup. Battling through the same injury in Game 3, Caldwell-Pope logged 37 minutes, so he should be in for a full workload Sunday.
-
Reggie Jackson DEN PG
Nuggets' Reggie Jackson: Good to go
4h agoJackson (calf) is available for Sunday's Game 4 against Minnesota.
Jackson will overcome a second consecutive questionable tag to suit up for Sunday's matchup. Jackson has had a limited presence this series as he has battled injury, averaging just 4.7 points and 2.7 rebounds in 10.7 minutes through three games.
-
Olivier-Maxence Prosper DAL SF
Mavericks' Olivier-Maxence Prosper: Won't play Monday
5h agoProsper (ankle) has been ruled out for Monday's Game 4 against the Thunder.
Prosper has missed nine straight games with a sprained left ankle. His next chance to play will come Wednesday.
-
Craig Porter Jr. CLE PG
Cavaliers' Craig Porter: Sidelined for Game 4
5h agoPorter (ankle) won't play in Monday's Game 4 against the Celtics.
Porter has missed 11 consecutive contests due to a sprained left ankle. Even if healthy, Porter likely wouldn't factor into the rotation.
-
Ty Jerome CLE SG
Cavaliers' Ty Jerome: Still out
5h agoJerome (ankle) won't play in Monday's Game 4 against Boston.
Jerome hasn't suited up since October due to a right ankle injury that required surgery. Even if he were to return at some point during the playoffs, he likely wouldn't be part of the Cavs' rotation.
-
Anton Lundell FLA C
Panthers' Anton Lundell: Two points in win
2m agoLundell scored a goal and supplied an assist in Sunday's 3-2 Game 4 win over Boston.
Lundell opened the scoring for the Panthers to cut the Bruins lead to one in the second period. He then set up Sam Bennett on the power play to tie the game at two early in the third period. Lundell has been a solid source of offense for Florida as a depth player -- the third-line center has one goal and six assists in nine contests so far this postseason. Lundell and the Panthers will attempt to close out the series Tuesday in Florida.
-
Jeremy Swayman BOS G
Bruins' Jeremy Swayman: Solid outing in loss
13m agoSwayman made 38 saves on 41 shots in Sunday's 3-2 Game 4 loss to the Panthers.
Swayman was stellar Sunday night but it wasn't enough as Boston was heavily outplayed by Florida in the loss. The 25-year-old netminder was provided with a two-goal lead in the first period before the Panthers scored three unanswered goals over the final two frames. Swayman and the Bruins find themselves on the brink of elimination heading back to Florida for Game 5 on Tuesday. Overall this postseason, the Boston goaltender has a 5-5 record with a 2.28 GAA and a .931 save percentage.
-
Sergei Bobrovsky FLA G
Panthers' Sergei Bobrovsky: Three straight wins
1h agoBobrovsky made 16 saves on 18 shots in Sunday's 3-2 Game 4 win over Boston.
It was another light workload in net for the Russian netminder -- this was the third consecutive matchup that Boston has failed to top 18 shots on goal. Bobrovsky was beaten twice in the first period but kept the door shut over the final 40 minutes of the contest. It's also the third straight game that the 35-year-old goaltender has allowed two goals or less. Overall this postseason, Bobrovsky is 7-2 with a 2.55 GAA and an .892 save percentage. Game 5 of this series is Tuesday in Florida.
-
Phillip Di Giuseppe VAN LW
Canucks' Phil Di Giuseppe: Unavailable Sunday
2h agoDi Giuseppe (personal) will not play Sunday against Edmonton, Thomas Drance of The Athletic reports.
Di Giuseppe missed Sunday's practice and will now be absent for at least one game, though the team hasn't provided much information on when he's expected to return. He has one assist in eight playoff games and has been held scoreless over his last six contests. Linus Karlsson will dress in his absence Sunday.
-
Stuart Skinner EDM G
Oilers' Stuart Skinner: Guarding cage Sunday
2h agoSkinner will get the starting nod at home against Vancouver on Sunday, Thomas Drance of The Athletic reports.
Skinner helped tie the series at 1-1 by stopping 16 shots in Friday's Game 2 victory. He's struggled so far against the Canucks, yielding eight goals on 43 shots in two contests. Skinner has won five of his seven postseason starts despite registering a lackluster .888 save percentage in the process.
-
Jeremy Swayman BOS G
Bruins' Jeremy Swayman: Guarding cage Sunday
5h agoSwayman will get the starting nod at home against the Panthers for Game 4 on Sunday, Michael Russo of The Athletic reports.
Swayman has been plastered with nine goals on 55 shots over the last two games but it hasn't been enough for Boston to flip back to Linus Ullmark. This will mark nine straight starts for Swayman dating back to the first round against Toronto. During his last eight games, he's posted a .925 save percentage while picking up four wins.
