Bud Dupree ATL OLB
Chargers' Bud Dupree: Set to join Chargers
16h agoDupree will sign a two-year contract with the Chargers, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Dupree reportedly met with both the Falcons and Steelers recently in addition to the Chargers, and it appears that he'll end up with Los Angeles. The veteran edge rusher enjoyed a solid bounce-back campaign with Atlanta last season, recording 39 tackles (his most since 2019), including 6.5 sacks (his most since 2020). Dupree will add to an already formidable Chargers pass rush that also includes Joey Bosa (foot), Khalil Mack and Tuli Tuipulotu.

AJ Parker CAR CB
AJ Parker: Waived with non-football injury
22h agoThe Panthers waived Parker with an undisclosed non-football injury Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
The details and severity of Parker's injury are unknown, other than the fact that it did not occur on the football field. The cornerback will now be available to be claimed off waivers should any other teams show interest.

Raequan Williams CAR DT
Raequan Williams: Gets waived/injured
22h agoWilliams was waived/injured by the Panthers on Friday due to an undisclosed injury, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
No details have been released regarding more information on the severity of Williams' injury. He will presumably revert to Carolina's injured reserve assuming he clears waivers, which means his 2024 season will be done unless both parties can reach an injury settlement.
-
Ilm Manning CAR OT
Ilm Manning: Waived/injured by Carolina
22h agoManning was waived/injured by the Panthers on Friday with an undisclosed injury, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
There is no word on the severity of Manning's injury. Assuming he clears waivers, the guard will subsequently revert to Carolina's injured reserve. From there, he would need to reach an injury settlement with the team at some point lest his 2024 season comes to a premature end.

Bradlee Anae NYJ DE
Falcons' Bradlee Anae: Inks deal with Atlanta
1d agoAnae (undisclosed) has agreed to terms on a contract with the Falcons, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
This news comes less than 24 hours after Anae's tryout in Atlanta. His 2023 season came to an end early, as the Jets placed him on injured reserve nearly one year ago with an undisclosed injury presumably suffered during offseason workouts. The defensive end's addition to Atlanta's roster indicates his health is back up to par, so he will now compete for a role in the trenches.

Gerrid Doaks HOU RB
Gerrid Doaks: Cut by Houston
2d agoThe Texans waived Doaks on Friday.
Doaks spent most of the past two seasons with Houston's practice squad and had signed a reserve/future contract with the club in January. However, he was cut Friday after the Texans reshaped their running back room in the offseason by trading for Joe Mixon, adding Jawhar Jordan in the draft and signing British Brooks as an undrafted free agent. Doaks has yet to play a snap in the NFL.

Trey Lipscomb WAS 3B
Nationals' Trey Lipscomb: Taking seat Sunday
8m agoLipscomb is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox.
Lipscomb had started each of the Nationals' last seven games, but he recorded just three hits in 20 at-bats with five walks against four strikeouts over that stretch. Since his April 24 promotion from Triple-A Rochester, Lipscomb is getting on base at a .370 clip over 15 games, but he isn't hitting for much power (.283 slugging percentage). He still looks to be the Nationals' primary third baseman for now, but Lipscomb could be at risk of losing out on some playing time if Washington wants to open up regular work for Joey Gallo (shoulder) when he likely returns from the 10-day injured list during the upcoming week.
-
Oswaldo Cabrera NYY 3B
Yankees' Oswaldo Cabrera: Sitting in series finale
10m agoCabrera is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's series finale against Tampa Bay.
Cabrera went 0-for-2 in Saturday's 7-2 loss to the Rays, and he will begin Sunday's series finale in the dugout. Jon Berti will start at third base and bat seventh against Tampa Bay left-hander Tyler Alexander.
-
Keibert Ruiz WAS C
Nationals' Keibert Ruiz: Gets day off
12m agoRuiz is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox.
Ruiz will receive some routine maintenance for the day game after he started in each of the Nationals' last eight contests. Riley Adams will fill in for Ruiz behind the dish.
-
Alex Verdugo NYY LF
Yankees' Alex Verdugo: Sitting against southpaw
13m agoVerdugo is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's series finale against the Rays.
With southpaw Tyler Alexander taking the hill for the Rays on Sunday, the righty-hitting Jahmai Jones will start in left field and bat ninth. Verdugo is hitless over his last four games and is 0-for-8 with three strikeouts over his last two outings.
-
Jacob Young WAS CF
Nationals' Jacob Young: Getting Sunday off
13m agoYoung is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox.
Young will take a seat for the series finale after he went 2-for-17 with five walks, one double, one stolen base, three runs and one RBI while starting in each of Washington's last five games. Victor Robles will replace Young in center field while C.J. Abrams takes over as Washington's leadoff hitter.
-
Jose Altuve HOU 2B
Astros' Jose Altuve: Getting first day off of 2024
16m agoAltuve is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.
After being limited to playing in 90 games in 2023, Altuve is off to a healthy start to 2024. He's started in each of Houston's first 39 games, but he'll be on the bench Sunday in what looks to be a routine maintenance day. Mauricio Dubon will check in at second base for Altuve, who gets the day off while he's in the midst of a minor slump at the dish. Altuve has gone 3-for-21 with seven strikeouts over his last five starts.

Dean Wade CLE PF
Cavaliers' Dean Wade: Plays 17 minutes in return
4h agoWade (knee) finished Saturday's 106-93 loss to Boston in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference semifinal round with five points (2-6 FG, 1-4 3Pt), three rebounds, three assists and one block in 17 minutes.
Suiting up for the first time since March 8 after needing two months to heal up from a sprained knee, Wade captured a rotation spot and helped provide the Cavaliers with some much-needed depth in the frontcourt. Though he acquitted himself well during his time on the court, Wade is unlikely to see his role grow substantially as the series rolls along, especially once center Jarrett Allen (ribs) is back in action.
-
Max Strus CLE SG
Cavaliers' Max Strus: Struggles in Game 3 loss
4h agoStrus totaled six points (2-8 FG, 2-6 3Pt), five rebounds and two assists over 37 minutes during Saturday's 106-93 loss to the Celtics in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Strus continues to deliver nothing but mediocrity, scoring fewer than 15 points for the eighth time in the past nine games, all during the playoffs. If the Cavaliers have any chance of beating the Celtics, they are going to need Strus to rediscover his form from earlier in the season. Based on what we have seen during the postseason, that might be wishful thinking.
-
Sam Merrill CLE SG
Cavaliers' Sam Merrill: Fails to score in 11 minutes
4h agoMerrill notched zero points (0-1 FG) across 11 minutes during Saturday's 106-93 loss to the Celtics in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Merrill missed his only shot attempt, failing to have an impact once again. Although he did have a couple of bright spots throughout the season, Merrill has been a non-factor in the playoffs.
-
Oshae Brissett BOS SF
Celtics' Oshae Brissett: Rare appearance in win
4h agoBrissett closed Saturday's 106-93 victory over the Cavaliers in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals with no counting stats in one minute.
Brissett played one minute of garbage time as the Celtics held on for a relatively comfortable victory Saturday. Barring another sizeable margin, Brissett is unlikely to leave the bench on most nights, especially as we get deeper into the playoffs.
-
Sam Hauser BOS SF
Celtics' Sam Hauser: Limited in Game 3 win
4h agoHauser produced six points (2-3 FG, 2-3 3Pt) in 10 minutes during Saturday's 106-93 win over the Cavaliers in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Hauser connected on a pair of three-pointers, the highlight of what was another passive performance. Boston is generally running with a shallow rotation, with Payton Pritchard the only depth piece playing meaningful minutes. Having wrestled back home court advantage, Boston will be pushing for a 3-1 series lead when the two teams line up again Monday.
-
Jrue Holiday BOS PG
Celtics' Jrue Holiday: Strong offensive showing
4h agoHoliday logged 18 points (7-10 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), eight rebounds, five assists and one block in 38 minutes during Saturday's 106-93 win over the Cavaliers in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Holiday was aggressive from the get-go, looking to score from the opening tip. Although he ended with just 18 points, the bulk of those came in the first half, keeping the Celtics on the front foot. Now leading 2-1 in the series, Boston will look to repeat this performance Monday before heading home for Game 5.
-
Danton Heinen BOS C
Bruins' Danton Heinen: Ready to rock
42m agoHeinen (undisclosed) is available to play in Game 4 against the Panthers on Sunday, per Tom Gulitti of NHL.com.
Heinen is poised to occupy a middle-six role and see time on the second power-play unit after missing the past five contests. He has one assist, five shots on goal and nine hits in five appearances this postseason. Heinen will replace Brad Marchand (upper body) in the lineup.
-
Brad Marchand BOS LW
Bruins' Brad Marchand: Won't play Sunday
1h agoMarchand (upper body) won't be in the lineup for Game 4 versus Florida on Sunday, Michael Russo of The Athletic reports.
Marchand will miss at least one contest after being injured in Friday's 6-2 loss to the Panthers. He has racked up three goals and 10 points in 10 outings this postseason. Marchand could be replaced in the lineup by Danton Heinen (undisclosed), who has missed the past five games.
-
Sergei Bobrovsky FLA G
Panthers' Sergei Bobrovsky: Tending twine in Game 4
1h agoBobrovsky will defend the road net in Game 4 against Boston on Sunday, according to Jameson Olive of the Panthers' official site.
Bobrovsky has stopped 29 of 32 shots en route to winning his past two outings. He has posted a 6-2 record with a 2.62 GAA and an .892 save percentage through eight appearances this postseason. The Panthers can push the Bruins to the brink of elimination with a victory in Sunday's contest.
-
Devon Toews COL D
Avalanche's Devon Toews: Pockets assist in loss
9h agoToews posted an assist, five shots on goal and two hits in Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Stars in Game 3.
Toews helped out on a Mikko Rantanen tally in the second period. The helper was Toews' first point over three appearances in the second round. The defenseman is up to six points, 15 shots on net, 14 hits, eight blocked shots and a plus-4 rating through eight playoff contests. He continues to play on the top pairing, which gives him plenty of ice time with the Avalanche's top players.
-
Nathan MacKinnon COL C
Avalanche's Nathan MacKinnon: Lends helper in loss
9h agoMacKinnon supplied an assist, three shots on goal, two hits and a minus-2 rating in Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Stars in Game 3.
MacKinnon was silenced in Game 2, ending an eight-game point streak. The 28-year-old was able to contribute the primary assist on Mikko Rantanen's goal in Game 3, though the Avalanche did little else on offense. MacKinnon is up to 12 points, 34 shots on net and a plus-2 rating through eight playoff contests, with six of his points coming on the power play.
-
Mikko Rantanen COL RW
Avalanche's Mikko Rantanen: Scores lone goal in Game 3 loss
9h agoRantanen scored a goal on four shots in Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Stars in Game 3.
Rantanen tied the game at 1-1 in the second period, but the Avalanche couldn't build on his goal. The winger was held off the scoresheet for the first time in the playoffs in Game 2, but he bounced back well. He's produced three goals, nine assists, 21 shots on net, 14 hits, 11 blocked shots and a plus-4 rating over eight postseason appearances in a top-line role.
