Davis spent most of the 2023 season on Arizona's practice squad. The Cardinals drafted a pair of wideouts in last week's NFL Draft, so Davis will look for work elsewhere.

1h agoFollowing the 2024 NFL Draft, Stidham is joined in the Broncos' QB room by newcomer Zach Wilson, along with No. 12 overall pick Bo Nix, Nick Kosmider of The Athletic reports.
After the Broncos released Russell Wilson last month, it was inevitable that they would add QB depth to join Stidham, who started Denver's final two contests last season. While Nix is no doubt being groomed as the team's future starter, it remains to be seen if he'll step into that role immediately. Until then, Stidham and Wilson will presumably both have an opportunity to compete with the rookie for depth chart slotting, but neither veteran signal-caller profiles as a high-percentage fantasy option in either re-draft or dynasty formats.

1h agoRookie third-round pick Trey Benson is unlikely to take Conner's starting job but cmay eventually force a platoon, according to KC Joyner of The Athletic.
It's a bit like the situation in Los Angeles with Kyren Williams and Blake Corum, i.e., the returning starter played too well last season to lose his Week 1 starting job, but the addition of a relatively early draft pick nonetheless increases the odds of a decline in snaps/touches. In Conner's case, there's the added factor that he's missed multiple games in each of his seven NFL seasons, though never more than six in any one year. His 2023 included career highs for rushing yards (1,040) and yards per carry (5.0), with the downside being his fewest targets (33) and catches (27, 2.1 per game) since he was a barely-used rookie in 2017. The lack of receiving volume was partially a product of Emari Demercado getting playing time in passing situations, and it's worth noting that the Cardinals have two other backs (Michael Carter, DeeJay Dallas) with track records as passing-down specialists. That said, Conner still figures to be the starter and lead runner, with Benson being the main threat to poach carries and TDs even if other guys are in the mix for passing downs.

2h agoThe Packers drafted MarShawn Lloyd in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft to join Jacobs and AJ Dillon in their remade backfield, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic report.
The decision to release Aaron Jones and sign Jacobs as a replacement likely had a lot to do with the latter being younger, larger and more capable of handling big workloads. It's nonetheless a bit difficult to project Jacobs' touch/snap counts for the upcoming season, as coach Matt LaFleur has almost always used a two-back approach when he's had his top two RBs healthy. On the other hand, there were a bunch of instances when LaFleur leaned heavily on Jones or Dillon (or Jamaal Williams before that) when the other guy wasn't available (rather than giving the third-stringer a large role). The extent of Jacobs' usage may thus depend on LaFleur's confidence in Dillon and/or Lloyd more so than Jacobs' perceived ability to take on huge workloads. Dillon plodded through 2023 and has seen his YPC drop with each passing season in the NFL, while Lloyd looks faster and more explosive but comes with glaring ball-security issues after fumbling at least eight times on 325 touches during his college career.

2h agoDillon is expected to face competition from third-round rookie MarShawn Lloyd for the Packers' No. 2 running back job behind Josh Jacobs, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
Dillon re-signed with the Packers on a four-year qualifying offer and isn't even considered a lock to make the Packers' 53-man roster, per Schneidman. Dillon averaged a career-worst 3.4 yards per carry in 2023, scoring just two touchdowns. He also was inactive for both of the team's playoff games due to a neck stinger. Green Bay likely hopes Lloyd shows enough to pass Dillon on the depth chart.

Selected 31st overall in the 2021 NFL Draft, Oweh has 13 sacks across 45 appearances through his first three seasons. He's yet to top five sacks in a single season and hasn't developed into a full-time edge rusher, seeing his snap rate decrease each season, bottoming out at 50 percent in 2023. Still, the Ravens have high hopes for the 25-year-old. Owen underwent thumb surgery following the playoff loss to the Chiefs.

14m agoClevinger is making a rehab start with Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
The right-hander threw 60 pitches over 3.1 innings during his first rehab outing Thursday and is expected to build up to around 75 pitches Tuesday. Assuming everything goes well, Clevinger could join the White Sox for his season debut early next week.

The left-hander hopes to spend close to the 15-day minimum on the injured list, though he seems likely to be sidelined a bit longer. A specific timeline for Snell's return could come into focus as he ramps up his throwing program.

Kiviranta did make the trip with the team to Winnipeg, so he appears to be getting close to returning. Even once given the all-clear, Kiviranta is far from a lock for the lineup but should be in the mix for a bottom-six role.

Bear logged 24 games for Washington this season in which he registered one goal and three assists while averaging a career-low 14:54 of ice time. With one year remaining on his contract, Bear should be back with Washington next season, though he may be hard-pressed to force his way into the lineup on a nightly basis.
