With Jacksonville, the 6-2, 189-pounder has plenty of competition for a roster spot, but Cephus could potentially land a depth role or practice squad slot with a strong training camp/offseason.

Vikings' Sam Darnold: Vikings won't rush to name starting QB
    17h ago

The Vikings could begin the season with Darnold as the team's starting quarterback despite taking J.J. McCarthy with the No. 10 overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft, ESPN reports. "We're not going to rush his development," said general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah. "We're just going to do what's best for the Vikings in the short and long term."

Darnold signed a one-year, $10 million contract with the Vikings as a short-term veteran starter or backup. It's hard to handicap when McCarthy may take over the starting job this soon after the draft, but it's notable the Vikings are trying to reduce expectations. Expect the quarterback battle for the Week 1 starting job to commence this summer. Still, odds are Darnold will only be the starter for a few weeks at most if McCarthy is healthy and making progress.

    39m ago

Langford went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Reds.

Langford entered Sunday homerless through his first 26 major-league contests, but that came to an end in quite the unique fashion. With one on and two out in the top of the first, the outfielder launched a high fly-ball to right center field, which ricocheted off the wall and rolled away from right fielder Jake Fraley, allowing Langford to round the bases for an inside-the-park home run. The homer was his first as a big leaguer and he's now batting .248 with 11 RBI, 13 runs and a stolen base over 101 at-bats in 27 games this season.

Pelicans' Jeremiah Robinson-Earl: Iffy for Monday
    28m ago

Robinson-Earl is questionable for Monday's Game 4 against the Thunder due to a left ankle sprain.

It's unclear when Robinson-Earl suffered the injury, as he's played only five minutes across the first three games of the opening-round series and didn't see any action during Saturday's Game 3 loss. If Robinson-Earl is ruled out, his absence shouldn't impact the Pelicans' rotation.

Pelicans' Zion Williamson: Remains out, but making progress
    32m ago

Williamson (hamstring) has been ruled out for Monday's Game 4 against the Thunder.

There was optimism that Williamson could return at some point in the postseason if New Orleans advanced, and that remains true as coach Willie Green said Sunday morning the superstar forward was cleared for stationary basketball drills, per Erin Summers of Bally Sports New Orleans. However, Williamson still isn't running and remains out while rehabbing a left hamstring strain he suffered during the team's first Play-In Tournament game against the Lakers. The Pelicans season will be on the line Monday, so the positive update on Williamson may be for naught.

However, he appears to have suffered a calf injury during the contest as well. While the Nuggets won the first three matchups of the series, the Lakers have led the majority of every game so far. Reggie Jackson (ankle) is probable for Game 5 and would presumably start at point guard if Murray is ruled out.
