2h agoThe Jaguars released Slye on Tuesday.
Slye inked with Jacksonville as a free agent back in March, but he's now lost his spot on the roster to rookie sixth-round pick Cam Little. Meanwhile, Riley Patterson remains with the Jaguars as potential offseason competition for Little. Slye converted 19 of 24 field-goal tries and 32 of 35 extra-point attempts across 17 games with Washington last season.

2h agoThe Jaguars released Jones on Tuesday.
Jones' release comes shortly following Jacksonville's selection of rookie Brian Thomas in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. The 29-year-old missed all but nine games last season due to a PCL injury, and despite now being healthy, his release saves the Jaguars a notable $4.2 million in cap space. In addition to Thomas, Christian Kirk and Gabe Davis round out Trevor Lawrence's clear top three wideouts, while Jones will work to find a landing spot elsewhere in the league.

4h agoPearsall may not see the field often as a rookie after being drafted by the 49ers, who have all three starting wideouts returning for the 2024 campaign, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports.
San Francisco's selection of Pearsall at the tail end of the first round of the draft came as a bit of a surprise, both from a draft slot and roster build standpoint. The 49ers currently have all three of its starting wide receivers under contract for the 2024 season, so the team's first selection may not receive enough playing time to make a significant fantasy impact as a rookie. Perhaps the front office drafted the Florida product with an eye on next offseason, when current starters Brandon Aiyuk and Jauan Jennings are expected to hit free agency. Pearsall is an explosive talent who projects to put up fantasy numbers at some point during his career, it just may not happen right off the bat on a loaded 49ers offense.

Michael Gallup DAL WRRaiders' Michael Gallup: Lands in Las Vegas
17h agoGallup agreed to terms on a one-year, $3 million contract with the Raiders on Monday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
After a six-year stint in Dallas to start his career, Gallup will get a fresh start in Las Vegas. His second year with the Cowboys generated plenty of optimism, as he tallied 1,107 yards receiving to go along with six touchdowns. However, he has failed to replicate those types of numbers since. With Davante Adams and Jakobi Meyers locked in as the Raiders' top pass catchers, Gallup will compete with the likes of Tre Tucker and DJ Turner, among others, for the No. 3 pass-catching role.

17h agoSamuel has a new teammate in the receiving room after the Bills took Keon Coleman out of Florida State with the first pick of the second round Friday.
Samuel, signed as a free agent in March, was never going to be a No. 1 or even a No. 2 in Buffalo, but now we at least know who's been brought in ahead of him on the depth chart. It's a mild surprise the Bills chose only one receiver with their 10 draft picks, so for now the versatile Samuel likely sits No. 3 in the pecking order behind Khalil Shakir and Coleman. That said, this is a perfect offense for Samuel's skill set, and he'll be a weapon of some sort once things get going, just not the primary receiving option.

The Giants opted not to hold on to Lemieux after the termination of his rookie contract, but he's now found another chance with the Saints. He's set to compete for a roster spot among an offensive line that underwhelmed in 2023.

5m agoAdell went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Monday in a 6-5 win against the Phillies.
Adell batted out of the No. 2 spot for the first time this season and immediately made his presence felt with a solo homer in the first inning. The long ball was his second in three games, and he's knocked in five runs over that stretch. Adell has been swinging a hot bat since mid-April -- he's reached base safely in 10 straight contests and is slashing .407/.484/.815 with three home runs, eight RBI, five runs and a stolen base during that span.

12m agoThe Cardinals transferred Rom (biceps) to the 60-day injured list Tuesday, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.
Rom has had trouble getting over the hump with his left biceps injury and is scheduled to be examined by Dr. Keith Meister in Dallas on Tuesday. He now cannot be activated until late May.

Matt Manning DET SPTigers' Matt Manning: Confirmed for Tuesday's start
1h agoTigers manager A.J. Hinch confirmed on MLB Network Radio that Manning will start the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader versus the Cardinals, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.
Manning had been on turn at Triple-A Toledo but instead will start Tuesday with the big club since they have a need. Jack Flaherty is getting the ball in the first game. Manning has looked good in his two previous starts with Detroit this season, yielding four runs while putting up a 10:6 K:BB over 12.1 innings. He will be the 27th man for Tuesday's doubleheader and is likely to be sent back down after the start.

1h agoWinder (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment with Low-A Fort Myers on Tuesday, team broadcaster John Vittas reports.
Winder is on the Twins' 60-day injured list due to a scapular stress fracture in his right shoulder which he suffered late last season. He will be eligible for activation in late May but would not appear to be a given to be added to the major-league roster once he's deemed ready.

There's been no change to his status for Tuesday's Game 5 versus the Knicks, so Embiid remains questionable to play due to his left knee soreness. Despite the questionable tag, it would be a major surprise if Embiid was held out with Philadelphia's season on the line.

Love logged just six minutes, failing to have any sort of real impact against an impressive Celtics squad. At this point in his career, Love doesn't have enough in the tank to provide Miami with meaningful production. As has been the case for the last years, Love will not be a viable fantasy option next season.

10h agoRobinson finished Monday's 102-88 loss to Boston in Game 4 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs with zero points (0-1 FG, 0-1 3Pt) and one assist over three minutes.
Robinson hit rock bottom in the loss, failing to score in just three minutes of playing time. It's a far cry from what he was doing during the regular season and highlights just how unimpactful he can be. The Heat will now head back to Boston where they will attempt to extend the series beyond five games.

Mills played a few extra minutes in the loss as the Heat fell to the Celtics in Game 4. Although they managed to win away from home in Game 2, there is a decent chance this series will come to an end Wednesday. Beyond this season, it's hard to see Mills having any sustainable fantasy value.

Horford was forced into an increased role Monday, thanks to a calf injury to Kristaps Porzingis. While initial reports indicate that Porzingis has avoided anything serious, there is certainly a chance he will miss at least the next game. Should that be the case, Horford would likely slide into the starting lineup.

21m agoWoll will guard the road net Tuesday in Game 5 against Boston, according to Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports.
Woll will make his first start this postseason after Ilya Samsonov went 1-3 with a 3.31 GAA and an .883 save percentage in the opening four contests of the series. The 25-year-old Woll stopped all five shots he faced during Saturday's relief appearance in Game 4. He posted a mark of 0-2-1 versus the Bruins during the 2023-24 regular season, surrendering 12 goals on 89 shots. The Maple Leafs need a win in Game 5 to force Game 6 back in Toronto on Thursday.

Matthews didn't stay on the ice long during the team's game-day skate, raising doubts regarding his availability. Still, if the 26-year-old California native can get the all-clear from the team doctors, he should immediately reclaim both his top-line and No. 1 power-play roles. By Matthews' standards, he has struggled offensively of late with just one goal in his last six outings.

Crozier played in three of the four playoff games for Tampa Bay against the Panthers, recording four shots on goal and five hits. The 24-year-old played in 13 regular season games, logging two assists and 13 shots on goal. He will look to propel AHL Syracuse to a potential Calder Cup Championship.

Lilleberg will join up with the Crunch, who are tied 1-1 in a best-of-five series against AHL Rochester. At the NHL level this season, the 23-year-old blueliner played in 37 games in which he tallied five helpers, 105 hits and 31 shots, though he is still looking for his first NHL goal.
