2h agoJackson said Wednesday that he dropped weight over the offseason in an effort to be more agile in 2024, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
Jackson was listed at 215 pounds last season and 225 during the 2022 season. Earlier this month, Jackson indicated he was closer to 205 pounds, but it's unclear if that's his intended playing weight. An even more elusive Jackson would be dangerous to opposing defenses, and adding Derrick Henry and getting Mark Andrews back to full health after his season was derailed by a broken ankle could make the Baltimore offense even more lethal in 2024.

2h agoNwosu (pectoral) participated in OTAs Wednesday, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.
Nwosu suffered a torn pec in Week 7 and missed the remainder of the season. He's already stated he expects to be a full participant for the start of training camp, and the veteran appears to be on track in his recovery. Nwosu tallied a career-best 9.5 sacks in 2022 and inked a three-year, $45 million extension last summer. He'll be counted on to help key Seattle's pass rush in his third season with the team in 2024.

2h agoBaker (wrist) won't participate in OTAs this week, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.
Baker injured his right wrist in the Dolphins' Week 18 regular-season finale against the Bills and is still recovering after undergoing surgery. The 27-year-old linebacker inked a one-year deal with Seattle earlier in the offseason and will help replace the losses of Jordyn Brooks and Bobby Wagner in the middle of the defense.

2h agoClark (knee) is participating fully in OTAs this week, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
The veteran safety tore his ACL last summer and missed the entire 2023 campaign after he was acquired from the Ravens last March. Clark re-signed with New York on a one-year deal this offseason and should have a chance to win a starting job in the Jets secondary.

Bachman hasn't appeared in a regular-season game since playing in three contests for the Giants in 2021. The wideout turns 29 next week and has become more of a camp body in the NFL.

3h agoThe Falcons waived Fisk (undisclosed) with an injury designation Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Fisk appeared in six games for the Falcons last season, seeing action on 72 offensive snaps and catching his only target for nine yards. The 25-year-old will land on injured reserve if he clears waivers, and there's a chance he's later cut with an injury settlement.

Ryan Walker SF RPGiants' Ryan Walker: Picks up fourth win
8m agoWalker (4-2) pitched a perfect inning and struck out one, earning the extra-inning win over the Pirates on Wednesday.
Walker kept the game tied in the ninth inning, and the Giants' offense exploded in the 10th to make him the pitcher of record. The right-hander has stumbled a little recently, allowing two runs over his last five innings, but he also has a 7:0 K:BB and three holds in that span. Walker is getting the job done with a 2.42 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 36:4 K:BB over 26 innings this season. He's added seven holds and one blown save while not seeing a lot of late-inning work, but his elite strikeout numbers make him an interesting option in all NL-only formats and some deeper mixed leagues as well.

Nelson Velazquez KC DHRoyals' Nelson Velazquez: Knocks homer
13m agoVelazquez went 1-for-2 with a solo home run, two walks and two total runs scored in Wednesday's 8-3 win over the Tigers.
Velazquez had sat out the previous two games, suggesting he could be losing some playing time versus right-handed pitchers. He looked solid against Tigers lefty ace Tarik Skubal, taking him deep in the fourth inning. Velazquez is barring a meager .224 (11-for-49) in May, but he's hit two homers and driven in five runs over his last five games. The outfielder is slashing .226/.295/.368 with four homers, 13 RBI, 20 runs scored, one stolen base and seven doubles over 146 plate appearances this season. He's struggled to consistently tap into power as he did with 17 homers over 53 games a year ago, so it's possible Velazquez could continue to lose playing time to Adam Frazier or Freddy Fermin if he can't turn things around.

19m agoScott earned the save Wednesday against Milwaukee, allowing one hit and no walks across a scoreless inning with one strikeout.
Scott is now 6-for-7 on save chances this season and has added four tallies in the win column. The 29-year-old has been charged with at least one earned run in just two of his 21 appearances, owning a 1.71 ERA with a 22:18 K:BB across 21.0 innings.

Cole Irvin BAL SPOrioles' Cole Irvin: Stuck with loss Wednesday
20m agoIrvin (4-2) allowed five runs (three earned) on six hits and struck out two without walking a batter over 3.1 innings to take the loss Wednesday versus the Cardinals.
Irvin was called upon for a long-relief outing after John Means (elbow) exited following a rain delay. The severity of Means' injury is unknown at this time, but if it requires a stint on the injured list, Irvin has a clear path back to the rotation after making his last two appearances out of the bullpen. Irvin has pitched well this season with a 3.15 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 30:8 K:B over 45.2 innings through nine appearances (seven starts). Means' spot in the rotation is slated for a home start versus the Red Sox next week, and Irvin's appearance Wednesday would put him on schedule to step into that spot if necessary.

Johnathan Rodriguez CLE RFGuardians' Johnathan Rodriguez: Drives in go-ahead run
24m agoRodriguez went 1-for-3 with a walk and one RBI in Wednesday's 6-3 win over the Mets.
Rodriguez went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in his major-league debut Tuesday. He was in the lineup again Wednesday and delivered his first hit, an RBI single, in the seventh inning to put the Guardians ahead 4-3. The outfield prospect slashed .276/.389/.449 with seven homers and 28 RBI over 43 games at Triple-A Columbus prior to his call-up. Rodriguez has started the last two games in right field, pushing Estevan Florial and Will Brennan to left field. The Guardians' outfield remains crowded, but Rodriguez at least has a chance to make an impression before Steven Kwan (hamstring) returns.

Jesus Luzardo MIA SPMarlins' Jesus Luzardo: Career day against Milwaukee
26m agoLuzardo (2-3) picked up the win Wednesday, allowing three hits and no walks with four strikeouts across eight scoreless innings against the Brewers.
Luzardo completed eight innings for the first time in his career, blanking Milwaukee in dominant fashion. All three hits allowed were singles and he didn't issue a walk for a second straight start. The southpaw retired 17 consecutive batters during the start, spanning the second to the eighth inning. He's been excellent in three starts since coming off the IL, owning a 0.92 ERA and a 19:1 K:BB over 19.2 innings. He'll look to keep the ball rolling Tuesday against the Padres.

4h agoConley (Achilles) is part of the starting lineup for Wednesday's Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals against Dallas.
Conley will play through a strained right soleus for a third straight game and will slot into his usual starting point guard role. In four regular-season games against the Mavericks this season, Conley averaged 10.8 points, 4.8 assists and 2.3 rebounds.

5h agoDoncic (knee/ankle) will play in Wednesday's Game 1 against the Timberwolves.
Doncic has been a regular on the injury report as he deals with lingering soreness in his left ankle and a sprained right knee. Even though he's banged up, Doncic played at least 40 minutes in all six games against OKC in the Western Conference Semifinals and closed out the series with three straight triple-doubles.

7h agoTillman (personal) is questionable for Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Pacers on Thursday, Taylor Snow of the Celtics' official site reports.
Tillman missed the Celtics' 133-128 overtime win in Game 1 due to the personal matter. While he could rejoin the Celtics in advance of Thursday's contest, his presence -- or lack thereof -- shouldn't have a major impact on head coach Joe Mazzulla's rotation. Tillman has appeared in just three games all postseason -- all in blowouts -- as Al Horford and Luke Kornet have covered most of the minutes at center while Kristaps Porzingis (calf) has been sidelined for each of the Celtics' last seven contests.

13h agoPritchard logged eight points (3-4 FG, 2-3 3Pt) and two assists over 23 minutes during Tuesday's 133-128 overtime win over the Pacers in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
The Celtics are using a very tight eight-man rotation right now, but Pritchard is pretty clearly the sixth man for the foreseeable future. He's been excellent through 11 playoff appearances, averaging 7.8 points, 2.5 assists and 2.3 rebounds while hitting 47.0 percent from the field and 44.7 percent from beyond the arc.

13h agoBrown contributed 26 points (10-20 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 5-8 FT), seven rebounds, five assists, one block and three steals across 44 minutes during Tuesday's 133-128 overtime victory over the Pacers in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
This was a great response from Brown after he was held to 11 points in the final game of the previous series against the Cavaliers. He's been terrific for most of the playoffs, to be fair, as he's hitting 54.8 percent from the field while averaging 23.4 points, 6.6 rebounds and 2.7 assists.

13h agoTatum amassed 36 points (12-26 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 10-12 FT), 12 rebounds, four assists and three steals in 46 minutes during Tuesday's 133-128 overtime win over Indiana in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
Everyone knows what Tatum can do offensively, and he's now scored at least 33 points in three of his last four games. However, it was his defense on Tyrese Haliburton that was ultimately the difference in this game. Tatum was clutch in overtime, and Boston will now head into Game 2 with a ton of momentum.

Stuart Skinner EDM GOilers' Stuart Skinner: Between pipes for Game 1
12h agoSkinner will tend the twine on the road in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals against the Stars on Thursday, Jason Gregor of Sports 1440 Edmonton reports.
Skinner has faced less than 20 shots in each of his last four appearances, posting a 3-1 record to go with a 2.66 GAA and .848 save percentage over that stretch. Despite being benched for Games 4 and 5 of the Oilers' second-round series versus Vancouver, the 25-year-old backstop was able to reclaim the starting role from Calvin Pickard for the final two games of the best-of-seven series. Skinner will likely remain the preferred choice in net for Edmonton during the Western Conference Finals.

13h agoBobrovsky will get the starting nod on the road against the Rangers in Game 1 on Wednesday.
Bobrovsky is sporting a 2.37 GAA and .902 save percentage in 11 postseason contests. The netminder is certainly getting plenty of offensive support, as the Panthers are scoring 3.55 goals per game in the postseason, the most of any team remaining in the playoffs. It figures to be a clash of backstops, as Bobrovsky will be squaring off with Igor Shesterkin on the other side.

13h agoShesterkin is expected to guard the home goal against Florida in Game 1 on Wednesday.
Shesterkin has led the Rangers to the Eastern Conference Finals by posting an 8-2 record, 2.40 GAA and .923 save percentage in 10 playoff appearances this year. However, the 28-year-old goaltender has allowed at least three goals in each of his past three starts. Florida has excelled offensively in the postseason, averaging 3.55 goals per contest, so the Panthers are expected to be a challenging adversary for Shesterkin.

Ryan Lindgren NYR DRangers' Ryan Lindgren: Set to play in Game 1
13h agoLindgren (undisclosed) is good to play in Game 1 against Florida on Wednesday, per Vince Z. Mercogliano of USA Today.
Lindgren's availability was put into question Tuesday because he stayed off the ice for a third straight day for maintenance reasons. It's possible the 26-year-old is playing through something, but it seems whatever that might be isn't enough to keep him out of the lineup. Lindgren has one assist, four PIM, 13 hits and 12 blocks in 10 playoff contests this year while averaging 20:36 of ice time.

Martin Pospisil CGY CFlames' Martin Pospisil: Will miss rest of Worlds
13h agoPospisil (upper body) will miss the remainder of the 2024 IIHF World Championship, per Wes Gilbertson of the Calgary Sun.
Pospisil was doing phenomenal at the tournament, providing three goals and seven points in seven games with Team Slovakia, but he sustained the injury during Monday's contest versus Sweden. The severity of his injury isn't known yet, so it's not clear if Pospisil's offseason training or availability for the start of the 2024-25 campaign will be impacted. The 24-year-old recorded eight goals, 24 points, 107 PIM and 238 hits in 63 contests with Calgary as a rookie in 2023-24.

Filip Kral TOR DPenguins' Filip Kral: Signs one-year contract
1d agoKral inked a one-year, two-way deal with Pittsburgh on Tuesday.
The Maple Leafs originally drafted Kral under now-Penguins general manager Kyle Dubas, so his addition to the organization shouldn't be a complete surprise. The 24-year-old defenseman had five goals and 37 points in 46 contests with the Pelicans in Finland's top league. He struggled to show that level of offensive upside in previous AHL stints, so fantasy players probably don't need to jump on Kral even in dynasty formats.
