Tyler Shatley JAC OG
Jaguars' Tyler Shatley: Staying in Jacksonville
10h agoThe Jaguars re-signed Shatley on Friday.
Not all of the details of the deal are known at this point, but Shatley is now poised to spend at least next season in Jacksonville - his 11th straight year with the team. The Jaguars will likely seek to add talent at offensive line during the upcoming draft, but Shatley figures to at least provide veteran depth to the interior of the unit in 2024.

Andrew Ogletree IND TE
Colts' Drew Ogletree: Back with team
13h agoGM Chris Ballard noted Friday that Ogletree is off the NFL's Commissioner Exempt List, Stephen Holder of ESPN.com reports.
Per the report, Ogletree -- whose charges stemming from his arrest in December were dismissed last month -- is back with the Colts during offseason workouts. Prior to being placed on the Commissioner Exempt List on Dec. 30, Ogletree caught nine of his 21 targets for 147 yards and two TDs in 12 regular-season games with Indianapolis.

J.K. Dobbins LAC RB
Chargers' J.K. Dobbins: Should be ready for training camp
14h agoDobbins (Achilles), who agreed to terms with the Chargers on Thursday, "should be" ready for training camp according to GM Joe Hortiz, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
Tom Pelissero of NFL Network relayed last month that Dobbins -- who suffered a torn Achilles in Baltimore's regular-season opener in 2023 -- has been cleared for football activities, with previous reports having noted that the running back had resumed running this offseason. Based on the assessment of Hortiz on Thursday, Dobbins is still working his way back from his injury; however, if the 2020 second-rounder is able to return to form, he and Gus Edwards (who also came over from the Ravens in free agency) have a chance to provide an effective 1-2 punch in the Chargers' backfield in 2024 under the guidance of offensive coordinator Greg Roman, who both players worked with in Baltimore.

Kerby Joseph DET DB
Lions' Kerby Joseph: Should be 100 percent for camp
15h agoJoseph (hip) -- who won't take part in practices this spring -- expects to be fully healthy by the start of training camp, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Joseph underwent an offseason procedure to address a hip injury that originally occurred in Week 2 of the 2023 campaign. Though he returned to play after missing two contests en route to logging 82 tackles and four picks in 15 regular-season outings overall, the issue evidently lingered to the point that it required attention following the postseason. Once he's back to 100 percent, Joseph will reprise his starting free safety role with the Lions.

D.J. Chark CAR WR
DJ Chark: Visits with Chargers
16h agoChark visited the Chargers on Thursday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Few teams are more in need of wide receivers, with the Chargers having released Mike Williams and traded Keenan Allen earlier this offseason. Chark has never come close to matching his 1,008-yard, eight-TD performance in 2019 for Jacksonville, but he did top 500 yards both of the past two seasons in Detroit and Carolina, starting 21 of 26 games along the way. Chark will turn 28 in September and doesn't figure to command a large contract.

Courtland Sutton DEN WR
Broncos' Courtland Sutton: No concern about OTA absence
17h agoBroncos GM George Paton suggested Thursday that he isn't worried about Sutton's absence from voluntary offseason workouts, Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com reports. "It's 100 percent voluntary," Paton said. "It's the first week of the offseason program. I've talked to Courtland. He's in a good place, and I'll just leave it at that."
Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reported Tuesday that Sutton's absence from voluntary OTAs is related to wanting a new contract. The wideout has two years and approximately $27.6 million remaining on his current deal, with only $2 million of that guaranteed. It's not the type of situation with especially high risk for a holdout, and Sutton looks to be especially important for Denver's offense after the team traded WR Jerry Jeudy to Cleveland in the offseason. It's not yet clear who will start across from Sutton at wide receiver, nor is it clear who will get the nod under center Week 1. The Broncos still have a lot to work out this spring and summer, with the upcoming NFL Draft presumably being a piece of that puzzle.

Joshua Lowe TB RF
Rays' Josh Lowe: Plays nine innings in rehab game
10m agoLowe (oblique) played nine innings in center field and went 0-for-3 with a walk during a rehab assignment with Triple-A Durham on Friday.
Lowe was originally set to begin his rehab assignment Thursday, but the game was rained out. Perhaps most notable about his initial appearance was his defensive position, as he's primarily played in right field in the majors. However, with Jose Siri struggling early, the team could opt to replace him with Lowe and rely on a combination of Richie Palacios and Amed Rosario in right field.

Francisco Alvarez NYM C
Mets' Francisco Alvarez: Undergoing MRI on thumb
14m agoAlvarez is getting an MRI on his left thumb after leaving Friday's game against the Dodgers, Tim Healey of Newsday reports. "I'm pretty concerned. I'm not going to lie," manager Carlos Mendoza said.
Alvarez injured his thumb in the second inning as he planted his left hand into the ground, after stumbling on his turn to second base. Anthony DiComo of MLB.com notes that Alvarez's left thumb "has taken a beating lately," and it sounds like Mendoza is resigned to being without his starting backstop for a stretch given how much pain Alvarez was in. Omar Narvaez is the only other catcher currently on the Mets' 40-man roster.

Ketel Marte ARI 2B
Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Posts four hits
23m agoMarte went 4-for-6 with a double, one RBI and one run scored in Friday's win over the Giants.
Marte led the Diamondbacks offense to a monster night with his four-hit performance as the team scored 17 runs. This is the second baseman's first four-hit effort since Sept. 19, 2023, which also came against San Francisco. Marte has been scorching hot to start the season, slashing .345/.392/.598 with five home runs, 12 RBI and 21 runs scored over 97 plate appearances.
-
Blaze Alexander ARI SS
Diamondbacks' Blaze Alexander: Smacks first grand slam
25m agoAlexander went 3-for-5 with a home run, five RBI and two runs scored in Friday's win over the Giants.
Alexander enjoyed the best game of his young career Friday night, driving in five RBI and hitting his first grand slam in the eighth inning. The 24-year-old rookie has filled in admirably since Geraldo Perdomo (knee) was placed on the injured list April 4. Alexander is slashing .340/.404/.596 with three home runs and 12 RBI over his first 52 plate appearances.

Jordan Montgomery ARI SP
Diamondbacks' Jordan Montgomery: Victorious in Arizona debut
27m agoMontgomery (1-0) earned the win Friday, allowing one run, four hits and no walks over six innings against the Giants. He struck out three.
Montgomery looked sharp in his season debut, stifling the Giants all night and allowing just four baserunners. The left-hander wasn't even at his peak as his fastball velocity averaged 93.3 mph, down 1.7 mph from last year's average. However, given that Montgomery signed with Arizona on March 29, he still has some work to get into midseason form. His next start is scheduled to be at home against his former team, the Cardinals.
-
Blake Snell SF SP
Giants' Blake Snell: Lit up for five runs
28m agoSnell (0-3) took the loss Friday against Arizona, allowing five runs on nine hits and one walk over 4.2 innings. He struck out three.
Snell continued to look rusty in his outing Friday, allowing nine hits, a mark he hasn't reached since a June 16, 2021 start against in Colorado. The 31-year-old lefty has struggled tremendously out of the gate, generating an 11.57 ERA, 1.97 WHIP and 12:5 K:BB in 11.2 innings. Snell looks to get back on track in his next start, slated to be against the Mets at home.

Keegan Murray SAC PF
Kings' Keegan Murray: Cleared to return
3h agoMurray (hip) has returned to Friday's Play-In Game against New Orleans, Anthony Slater of The Athletic reports.
Murray went to the locker room at the end of the first half with left hip soreness, but he's been cleared to return. He'll be asked to play a big role down the stretch with the Kings facing a nine-point deficit to begin the third quarter.

Keegan Murray SAC PF
Kings' Keegan Murray: Heads to locker room
4h agoMurray went to the locker room after suffering a left hip injury during the second quarter of Friday's Play-In Game against the Pelicans, Will Guillory of The Athletic reports.
Murray appeared to slip on a wet spot on the court, and he was reportedly favoring his hip on the way to the locker room, per Sean Cunningham of Fox 40 Sacramento. Trey Lyles and Colby Jones would likely be asked to step up if Murray can't return.

Nikola Vucevic CHI C
Bulls' Nikola Vucevic: Leads team with 14 boards
4h agoVucevic notched 16 points (7-17 FG, 2-5 3Pt), 14 rebounds, five assists, one block and two steals over 35 minutes during Friday's 112-91 Play-In Game loss to the Heat.
Vucevic turned in a valiant effort in Friday's elimination game, but the Heat cruised to a big victory with the help of Tyler Herro and Jamie Jaquez. Vucevic was held in check offensively along with the rest of the Chicago squad, as the Bulls were held to 91 points on 38.0 percent shooting from the field. The 33-year-old closed the season with four consecutive double-doubles.
-
Javonte Green CHI SG
Bulls' Javonte Green: Adds 12 points off bench
4h agoGreen closed Friday's 112-91 Play-In Game loss to the Heat with 12 points (5-6 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, three assists and two steals over 17 minutes.
Green led Chicago's bench with 12 points, but his effort wasn't enough to help his team advance to the opening round of the postseason. He finished the 2023-24 campaign on a high note by putting up 10 or more points in seven of eight appearances over his final month of action.
-
DeMar DeRozan CHI SF
Bulls' DeMar DeRozan: Solid showing in season-ending loss
4h agoDeRozan ended Friday's 112-91 Play-In Game loss to the Heat with 22 points (8-16 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 3-4 FT), three rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal across 41 minutes.
DeRozan did his part as his squad looked to advance to the opening round of the postseason, knocking down 50.0 percent of his tries from the field while contributing on the defensive end. He went on an impressive run to end the 2023-24 campaign, averaging 29.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 1.5 steals over his last six appearances.
-
Bam Adebayo MIA C
Heat's Bam Adebayo: Slow yet efficient night
4h agoAdebayo finished Friday's 112-91 Play-In Game win over the Bulls with 13 points (5-8 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-4 FT), four rebounds, four assists and two blocks over 32 minutes.
Adebayo didn't have the type of performance one would expect in a big-time game, but he was calculated in his chances and enjoyed the show as Tyler Herro led the Heat to victory with a massive showing. Friday marked Adebayo's lowest rebounding total since April 10, so he'll need to get back on track on the glass during Miami's upcoming series against Boston to have a chance.

Kris Letang PIT D
Penguins' Kris Letang: May need surgery
8m agoLetang will get a second opinion to determine whether he'll need surgery to address his undisclosed injuries, Seth Rorabaugh of Tribune-Review Sports reports.
Although Letang was evidently banged up down the stretch, he appeared in all 82 games for Pittsburgh this season, racking up 10 goals and 51 points. Another update on the veteran blueliner's status should surface if it's determined he'll require surgery.

4h agoNamestnikov (rest) is available for Game 1 against Colorado on Sunday, Tracey Myers of NHL.com reports.
Namestnikov missed Thursday's season finale due to rest and will be back in his middle-six role Sunday. The veteran forward finished his season with 11 goals and 37 points through 78 appearances.
-
Brenden Dillon WPG D
Jets' Brenden Dillon: Ready to play
4h agoDillon (rest) will play in Sunday's postseason tilt against Colorado, Tracey Myers of NHL.com reports.
Dillon missed Thursday's matchup with the Canucks due to rest and will be fine to assume his usual top-four role. He finished the regular season with eight goals and 20 points through 77 contests.
-
Kyle Connor WPG LW
Jets' Kyle Connor: Set to play Sunday
4h agoConnor (rest) will suit up for Game 1 against the Avalanche on Sunday, Tracey Myers of NHL.com reports.
As expected, Connor missed Thursday's game against the Canucks as a rest day rather than an injury. He racked up 12 points over his final eight games of the year, giving him 61 across 65 contests. The 27-year-old will be in his usual top-line role Sunday.
-
Mark Scheifele WPG C
Jets' Mark Scheifele: Ready for postseason
4h agoScheifele (rest) will be available for Game 1 against Colorado on Sunday, Tracey Myers of NHL.com reports.
Scheifele missed Thursday's season finale due to rest rather than injury. The star center tallied 25 goals and 72 points through 74 games during the regular season. He's hit the 70-point mark five times in his NHL career, including four of the last five full seasons.

Jakub Skarek NYI G
Islanders' Jakub Skarek: Promoted from AHL
4h agoSkarek was recalled from AHL Bridgeport on Friday, per CapFriendly.
Skarek posted a lackluster 3.23 GAA and .888 save percentage in 36 AHL contests. The 24-year-old has yet to make his NHL debut.
