Matt Hennessy PHI C
Eagles' Matt Hennessy: Active for OTAs
14h agoHennessy (knee) was an active participant at the Eagles' OTAs this past week, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Hennessy was unavailable for the entirety of the 2023 campaign with a knee injury, but he looks to be a full go ahead of 2024. The 26-year-old will likely operate as a depth option behind Landon Dickerson and Tyler Steen at offensive guard this season.
-
Jake Hanson NYJ C
Jets' Jake Hanson: Active at OTAs
18h agoHanson (concussion) is participating at the Jets' organized training activities, Zach Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports.
Hanson was placed on New York's injured reserve prior to last season's final week. It seems as though he has since cleared all the league's concussion protocols, given his presence at OTAs. He is projected to compete for a depth role on the team's offensive line in the upcoming season.
-
Tyrone Wheatley Jr. NE OT
Patriots' Tyrone Wheatley: Participating in OTAs
20h agoWheatley (knee) is participating in the Patriots' organized team activities, Greg A. Bedard of the Boston Sports Journal reports.
Wheatley went on New England's injured reserve in October of last season due to a knee injury. His participation at OTAs indicates his health is back up to par at this point. Barring any setbacks, he will continue competing for a depth offensive line role heading into the season.
-
Daniel Ekuale NE DT
Patriots' Daniel Ekuale: Active at OTAs
22h agoEkuale (biceps) is participating in the Patriots' organized team activities, Steven Senne of the Idaho State Journal reports.
Ekuale's season ended in September of last year after the Patriots placed him on injured reserve with a torn biceps. His participation at OTAs indicates his health is back up to par. The veteran defensive tackle is projected to provide depth on New England's interior defensive line this season.

Brian O'Neill MIN OT
Vikings' Brian O'Neill: Practicing during OTAs
1d agoO'Neill (foot) took part in practice Friday, Craig Peters of the team's official site reports.
O'Neill played in only one of Minnesota's final four games last season with what was eventually disclosed as a small fracture in his left foot. He appears to be back to full health and is slated to work as the Vikings' starting right tackle for the 2024 campaign.
-
Thayer Munford LV OT
Raiders' Thayer Munford: Participating in OTAs
2d agoMunford (knee) has been taking part in offseason practices, Mike Moraitis of The Sporting News reports.
Munford missed the Raiders' final game last season due to a knee injury but now appears to be back to full health. He's slated to start at right tackle for Las Vegas in the coming campaign.
-
Blaze Alexander ARI SS
Diamondbacks' Blaze Alexander: Contributes to win
1m agoAlexander started at second base and went 2-for-5 with a stolen base, an RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's 10-5 win over the Mets.
Alexander made his first start in five days and had a hand in both Arizona runs in the sixth inning. After singling home a run, he stole second base, advanced to third on a wild pitch then scored on a throwing error by the catcher. Alexander's playing time dwindled during May -- a month in which he batted .184 with just 38 at-bats -- and he could be in danger of losing a roster spot once Geraldo Perdomo (knee) returns.
-
Enmanuel Valdez BOS 2B
Red Sox's Enmanuel Valdez: Huge day against Detroit
29m agoValdez went 3-for-4 with a double, two home runs, three runs scored and three RBI in Saturday's 6-3 win over the Tigers.
Getting the start at DH and batting fifth, Valdez tormented Matt Olson and took him deep in the second and sixth innings, adding a two-bagger in between for good measure. It was the 25-year-old infielder's first start since being called back up from Triple-A Worcester on Wednesday, but with Vaughn Grissom (hamstring) headed back to the IL after leaving Saturday's game early, the path is clear for Valdez to see regular action at second base for at least the next couple weeks, perhaps on the strong side of a platoon with Romy Gonzalez. Valdez is batting just .179 (17-for-95) in the majors this year, but he's having a breakout season in the power department, slugging four homers in 31 games for Boston and adding six in 20 games for Worcester.
-
Cooper Criswell BOS SP
Red Sox's Cooper Criswell: Sharp in third win
36m agoCriswell (3-2) picked up the win Saturday, allowing one run on four hits and a walk over five-plus innings. He struck out five.
He gave up a leadoff double to Matt Vierling and watched him come around to score, then had Vierling rip another two-bagger off him to begin the fifth inning, but Criswell shut down the Detroit offense in between. It was a strong rebound from the right-hander after he got tagged for seven runs in his next outing, and Criswell will take a 3.92 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 41:10 K:BB through 43.2 innings into his next start, which lines up to come on the road next weekend against the White Sox.
-
Gio Urshela DET 3B
Tigers' Gio Urshela: Pops second homer
40m agoUrshela went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 6-3 loss to the Red Sox.
The third baseman made the final score a little more respectable by taking Brad Keller deep in the ninth inning. Urshela has only two homers on the season, but both have come during the current series in Boston, and he seems to have shaken off the rust following an IL stint due to a hamstring strain that cost him 21 games -- over the last seven contests, he's batting .348 (8-for-23).
-
Reese Olson DET SP
Tigers' Reese Olson: Stuck with sixth loss
45m agoOlson (1-6) took the loss Saturday as the Tigers fell 6-3 to the Red Sox, giving up five runs on six hits and a walk over 5.1 innings. He struck out two.
He was able to handle most of Boston's lineup, but Enmanuel Valdez proved to be his kryptonite, smacking a double and two homers off Olson. The right-hander had gone eight straight outings without allowing more than two earned runs heading into Saturday, and despite the stumble Olson will take a 2.48 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 52:20 K:BB through 61.2 innings into his next start, which lines up to come at home next weekend against the Brewers.
-
Ryan Mountcastle BAL 1B
Orioles' Ryan Mountcastle: Powers offense with two homers
1h agoMountcastle went 2-for-3 with a walk, two home runs, four RBI and a third run scored in Saturday's 9-5 win over the Rays.
The O's launched four homers in total off Taj Bradley, and Mountcastle bookended the barrage with long balls in the first and fourth innings. The power display snapped a 17-game homer drought for the 27-year-old, but Mountcastle hasn't been slumping -- over his last 10 games he's batting .459 (17-for-37) with five doubles and five multi-hit performances. That surge has boosted his slash line on the season to .293/.333/.505 with eight home runs and 24 RBI in 51 contests.

Giannis Antetokounmpo MIL PF
Bucks' Giannis Antetokounmpo: Will play for Greece
17h agoAntetokounmpo (calf) will play for Greece in the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament, Evan Sidery of Forbes Sports reports.
Antetokounmpo missed the final three games of the Bucks' regular season, followed by their six playoff games prior to being eliminated by the Pacers. The superstar forward revealed following Game 6 that he was "not close" to returning to the Bucks lineup due to his calf strain. There will be roughly a two-month gap between Milwaukee's final contest and Greece's first qualifying game, and it appears the 29-year-old will be back to full health. Barring any setbacks, he should be at full strength for the start of the 2024-25 season. The two-time MVP averaged 30.4 points, 11.5 rebounds and a career-high 6.5 assists to go along with 1.2 steals, 1.1 blocks and 0.5 triples across 35.2 minutes in 73 regular-season games last season.
-
Nickeil Alexander-Walker MIN SF
Timberwolves' Nickeil Alexander-Walker: Minimal impact in loss
2d agoAlexander-Walker recorded zero points (0-2 FG, 0-1 3Pt), one assist and two steals in 14 minutes during Thursday's 124-103 loss to the Mavericks in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals.
Alexander-Walker averaged just 3.4 points, 1.6 assists and 1.2 rebounds in 15.4 minutes across the Western Conference. He also struggled mightily with his efficiency, shooting 28.6 percent from the field and 18.8 percent from three across the five contests. However, the 25-year-old guard converted 39.1 percent of his 4.1 three-point attempts per game during the regular season and will head into the 2024-25 campaign under the last year of his two-year, $9 million contract.
-
Kyle Anderson MIN SF
Timberwolves' Kyle Anderson: Struggles with efficiency
2d agoAnderson provided seven points (3-9 FG, 1-4 3Pt), three rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal over 33 minutes during Thursday's 124-103 loss to the Mavericks in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals.
Anderson's 33 minutes played in Game 5 were his highest of the series, largely due to his role in guarding Luka Doncic. Anderson will end the Western Conference Finals averaging 7.4 points, 3.4 assists and 2.8 rebounds in 22.4 minutes across the five contests. The 30-year-old forward will head into the offseason as an unrestricted free agent. Anderson's future in Minnesota is uncertain as he went from averaging 28.4 minutes across 69 appearances, including 46 starts in 2022-23, to 22.6 minutes across 79 appearances, just 10 of which were starts, in 2023-24.
-
Rudy Gobert MIN C
Timberwolves' Rudy Gobert: Plays reduced minutes in Game 5
2d agoGobert provided nine points (4-8 FG, 1-2 FT), five rebounds, one assist and one steal in 26 minutes during Thursday's 124-103 loss to the Mavericks in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals.
Gobert's 26 minutes were his lowest of the series despite recording just one foul. The 2023-24 Defensive Player of the Year was often forced to play away from the rim and come out to meet Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving on the perimeter in the pick-and-roll. Gobert averaged 11.8 points, 7.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 34.0 minutes across the five games against Dallas.
-
Karl-Anthony Towns MIN PF
Timberwolves' Karl-Anthony Towns: Goes down swinging
2d agoTowns ended Thursday's 124-103 loss to the Mavericks in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals with 28 points (9-20 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 9-10 FT), 12 rebounds, two assists and one steal across 38 minutes.
Despite putting up his best game of the series Thursday, Towns' efforts weren't enough to avoid defeat. The 28-year-old big man tied Anthony Edwards for a team-high 28 points and led Minnesota in rebounding. Towns will finish the Western Conference Finals averaging 19.6 points, 8.4 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 33.2 minutes. He also struggled mightily with his efficiency, shooting just 37.9 percent from the field and 24.2 percent from three across the five games.
-
Anthony Edwards MIN SG
Timberwolves' Anthony Edwards: Efficient in Game 5 loss
2d agoEdwards logged 28 points (10-18 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 4-6 FT), nine rebounds, six assists, one block and one steal over 43 minutes during Thursday's 124-103 loss to the Mavericks in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals.
Edwards recorded his second-highest scoring output of the Western Conference Finals in Game 5 but wasn't able to avoid elimination. After struggling with his efficiency to begin the series, the star guard managed to post 43.0/40.6/75.0 shooting splits over the five games. Against Dallas, Edwards averaged 24.6 points, 8.8 rebounds, 7.8 assists and 1.0 steals in 41.4 minutes.

Adam Fox NYR D
Rangers' Adam Fox: Adds late helper
5h agoFox recorded his eighth assist of the playoffs in Saturday's 2-1 season-ending loss against Florida in Game 6.
Fox had the secondary assist on Artemi Panarin's goal late in the third period, but New York couldn't pull off the comeback. Fox added one shot, three hits, two blocks and a plus-1 rating in 24:11 of ice time. The 26-year-old led New York's blueliners in points this postseason with eight. That is not surprising, but he did not score a goal in 16 contests. There's speculation that the star defenseman could've been battling an injury, but there should be clarification on that front in the coming days.
-
Vincent Trocheck NYR C
Rangers' Vincent Trocheck: Records 20th point of playoffs
6h agoTrocheck supplied a helper in Saturday's 2-1 loss to the Panthers in Game 6.
Trocheck had the primary assist on Artemi Panarin's marker late in the third period, which cut Florida's lead to one. Trocheck did not record a shot on goal Saturday, but he did have a whopping 10 hits and a plus-1 rating in 23:59 of ice time, the most of any Rangers forward. The 30-year-old center had a fantastic postseason, finishing with eight goals and 20 points in 16 appearances. Trocheck doubled up on his previous career high in the playoffs -- he recorded 10 points during the 2021-22 season with Carolina.
-
Artemi Panarin NYR LW
Rangers' Artemi Panarin: Gives Rangers life in final minutes
8h agoPanarin scored his fifth goal of the postseason in Saturday's 2-1 season-ending loss to Florida in Game 6.
Panarin hadn't scored in eight consecutive contests prior to Saturday before cutting Florida's lead to one in the final minutes of Game 6. It was only his fourth point of the series after he produced 11 points in 10 outings across the first two rounds. The 32-year-old concludes the postseason with 15 points (five goals) and a minus-2 rating in 16 appearances. Panarin has two years remaining on his contract with the Rangers heading into the offseason.
-
Igor Shesterkin NYR G
Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Stellar run comes to end
8h agoShesterkin made 32 saves on 34 shots in Saturday's 2-1 loss to the Panthers in Game 6.
Shesterkin was peppered again Saturday night, it marked the fourth consecutive outing that the netminder faced at least 34 shots on goal. The Rangers were just two wins away from reaching the Stanley Cup Finals, but they were out-shot in 13 of 16 postseason contests. New York also allowed 524 shots on goal in those 16 games, which highlights just how important Shesterkin was to the team's success. The 28-year-old concludes the 2023-24 postseason at 10-6 with a 2.34 GAA and a .927 save percentage.
-
Vladimir Tarasenko FLA RW
Panthers' Vladimir Tarasenko: Scores first of series
8h agoTarasenko scored a goal that stood as the game-winner in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Rangers in Game 6.
Tarasenko registered his first point of the series when he gave Florida a 2-0 lead just before the midway point of the third period. The 32-year-old has faced his share of struggles during the postseason -- he was recently demoted to the third line after serving mostly in a top-six role since he was traded from Ottawa. He did have a crucial marker against his former club in Game 6, so perhaps this game serves as a confidence booster for Tarasenko ahead of the Stanley Cup Finals. The Russian native has three goals and three assists and a plus-4 rating in 17 postseason contests.
-
Evan Rodrigues FLA C
Panthers' Evan Rodrigues: Assists on opening goal
8h agoRodrigues registered a primary helper in Saturday's 2-1 series-clinching win over the Rangers in Game 6.
Rodrigues was back on the board in Saturday's win after being held off the scoresheet since Game 3. He added three shots on net in 15:14 of ice time. Rodrigues isn't relied upon much for offensive production, but he's currently slotted on Florida's second line with Matthew Tkachuk and Sam Bennett. Rodrigues is up to three goals and five assists with an even plus-minus rating in 17 playoff contests.
