Michael Wilson ARI WRCardinals' Michael Wilson: Outlook muddied after recent arrivals
8h agoWilson has more competition for targets from quarterback Kyler Murray after the team selected Marvin Harrison fourth overall in this year's draft and then signed seven-year pro Zay Jones last week, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
Wilson spent much of the offseason No. 2, at best, in the pecking order in the Cardinals passing game behind tight end Trey McBride, but the recent additions leave Wilson's potential volume in the upcoming campaign up in the air. As a rookie second-round pick last year, Wilson put together a 38-565-3 line on 58 targets in 13 contests, but he produced just 13 catches (on 25 targets) for 164 yards and one touchdown in five outings with Murray under center. The arrival of the dynamic Harrison likely leaves Wilson fending for looks with Jones, who has three years with at least 500 receiving yards on his resume.

9h agoElliss (shoulder) should be fully healed by training camp, Mike Klis of 9News reports.
Elliss underwent surgery to repair a torn shoulder labrum six months ago, but he still isn't quite 100 percent. However, the Broncos' 2024 third-round selection was able to take part in walkthroughs and individual portions of the team's recent rookie minicamp. The son of former NFL player, Luther Elliss, Jonah projects to be a pass-rush specialist after recording 12 sacks in just 10 games at Utah last season.

Lucas Havrisik CLE KLucas Havrisik: Loses spot
10h agoHavrisik was waived by the Browns on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Havrisik signed a reserve/future contract with Cleveland in January after the Rams waived him. He was expected to at least have the opportunity to compete with Dustin Hopkins (hamstring) and Cade York for the team's kicker job in 2024, but instead, he'll become a free agent once again.

Corey Luciano SF CCorey Luciano: Cut loose from team
10h agoLuciano was waived by the 49ers on Tuesday, David Lombardi of The Athletic reports.
Luciano was set to get a second opportunity with the 49ers after appearing in two games with the franchise last season. However, he'll now hit the open market again, to make room for swing tackle Chris Hubbard, and to keep San Francisco under the 90-man roster limit.

Jahmyr Gibbs DET RBLions' Jahmyr Gibbs: To see more touches in 2024
10h agoAppearing on The Rich Eisen Show on Monday, Lions GM Brad Holmes said he "definitely would expect" Gibbs to "see more of the load" out of the backfield in 2024.
Holmes added that he thinks Gibbs will also be even more involved in the passing game in his second season. Only seven running backs saw more targets than Gibbs' 71 in 2023, and his 52 catches were tied for the ninth-most at the position. Backfield mate David Montgomery out-carried Gibbs, 219-182, but Gibbs had a commanding edge in the pass game with 47 more targets than the veteran. There's reason to believe Gibbs' touches will rise in 2024, but Montgomery isn't going away. This backfield will remain a one-two punch, and Montgomery is the favorite for carries when the Lions are trying to kill the clock when they have a lead. Gibbs' fantasy ceiling remains extremely high due to the overall explosive nature of Detroit's offense.

10h agoBrown was waived by the 49ers on Tuesday, David Lombardi of The Athletic reports.
Brown headed to San Francisco in February after appearing in 12 games over two seasons with the Rams. The Northwestern product will depart the team, along with center Corey Luciano, to make room for recent additions, Chris Hubbard and Shakel Brown to keep the 49ers under the current 90-man roster limit.

2m agoMegill earned the save Tuesday against the Pirates, allowing a solo home run and no walks with two strikeouts across one inning.
Megill entered the contest with two runs of cushion and managed to secure his fifth save of the campaign despite allowing a solo homer to Connor Joe with two outs in the ninth. The 30-year-old is a perfect 5-for-5 in save chances and has only allowed two runs in 10.2 innings this season.

Quinn Priester PIT SPPirates' Quinn Priester: Dealt another loss
5m agoPriester (0-4) took the loss Tuesday against Milwaukee, allowing four runs on nine hits and two walks during six innings. He struck out five.
Priester endured a nightmare second inning in which he allowed a two-run homer to Sal Frelick as part of a four-run, six-hit frame. The Pirates were never able to recover from the early deficit, falling 4-3 to give Priester his fourth loss in five starts. Despite the lack of wins, Priester has shown signs of improvement in his second year in the bigs, with his ERA dropping from 7.74 to 4.33 this season in 27 innings. With Paul Skenes impressing in his MLB debut and very likely to stick around, Priester could be the odd man out in the Pirates rotation.

Joe Ross MIL SPBrewers' Joe Ross: Gets on track with win
11m agoRoss (2-4) picked up the win Tuesday against Pittsburgh, allowing two runs on two hits and one walk across five innings. He struck out six.
Ross got a tally in the win column for the first time since April 9, putting together a spotless day outside of a two-run homer by Nick Gonzalez in the fourth. Although the 31-year-old hasn't been outstanding in 2024, he's been a reliable arm for a Brewers rotation that has been plagued by injuries. He's lasted at least five innings in six of his eight starts and has surrendered three or fewer runs six times as well. Ross is set up to make his next start during a three-game road series against the Marlins early next week.

20m agoStanton went 2-for-5 with a solo home run during Tuesday's 5-1 win over the Twins.
Stanton launched a 427-foot homer in the third inning off Chris Paddack for his ninth long ball of 2024. The 34-year-old still owns a huge 34 percent strikeout rate, but he owns a .236 batting average and is slugging .471 -- both would be his best tallies since 2021. Stanton has hit safely in eight of his last nine games.

26m agoJeffers went 1-for-4 with a solo home run during Tuesday's 5-1 loss to the Yankees.
Jeffers gave Minnesota the lead with a solo homer as the team's first batter of the game. However, they wouldn't score another run following Jeffers' round-tripper and Jeffers himself struck out in his final three plate appearances. The catcher has hit double-digit homers in 2024 and is on pace to smash his career high of 14 long balls.

Carlos Rodon NYY SPYankees' Carlos Rodon: Generates quality start
29m agoRodon (4-2) picked up the win Tuesday against Minnesota, allowing one run on six hits and no walks during six innings. He struck out six.
Rodon turned in his fourth quality start of his last five appearances and didn't issue a four-ball walk for a third straight contest. The lone run charged against him came via a Ryan Jeffers homer in the bottom of the first. After posting a 6.85 ERA in his first season in New York, Rodon has bounced back with a 3.31 ERA through nine starts and is tied for the team lead in wins. Rodon is scheduled to close out a two-start week with a Sunday start against the White Sox -- the team he played his first seven seasons with.

3m agoAlexander-Walker amassed 14 points (5-12 FG, 4-8 3Pt), two rebounds, five assists and two blocks across 39 minutes during Tuesday's 112-97 loss to the Nuggets in Game 5 of the Western Conference Semifinals.
Alexander-Walker moved into the starting lineup Tuesday, replacing Mike Conley who was ruled out due to an Achilles issue. While he was far from spectacular, Alexander-Walker cobbled together a serviceable performance, contributing on both ends of the floor. Now trailing 3-2 in the series, Minnesota will be hoping Conley is cleared to return for Game 6. Should that not be the case, expect to see Alexander-Walker running with the starters once again.

Reid was a non-factor in the loss, continuing his recent struggles. Coming off a career-best season, Reid has been unable to produce at a consistent level during the postseason. He has scored fewer than 15 points in eight of the Timberwolves' nine playoff games. Now facing a must-win matchup, Reid will look to turn things around in front of his home fans.

Haliburton's five assists tied with T.J. McConnell for most on the Pacers in Game 5 on Tuesday. Haliburton failed to reach 20 points after doing so over the past three games, though he managed to contribute on the defensive end of the floor, recording two blocks for the first time this postseason. Haliburton is averaging 18.5 points on 48.1 percent shooting, 5.0 rebounds, 8.2 assists and 1.3 steals across 35.3 minutes per game in the playoffs.

3h agoSiakam notched 22 points (7-for-15 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 6-7 FT), eight rebounds, two assists and one steal over 33 minutes in Tuesday's 121-91 loss to the Knicks in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Siakam was the only Pacer to score 20-plus points in Game 5 on Tuesday, and he was the second-leading scorer for the game behind Jalen Brunson. Siakam managed to reach 20-plus points for the second time in three games, and he got some of those from the charity stripe after not attempting a single free throw in Game 4. Siakam is averaging 19.0 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

3h agoTurner contributed 16 points (6-12 FG, 4-7 3Pt), five rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks in Tuesday's 121-91 loss to the Knicks in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Turner was responsible for four of the Pacers' 12 three-point makes Tuesday, his most in the postseason since Game 4 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs against the Bucks. He extended his streak of two-plus blocks to three games, but he also committed a team-high four turnovers. Turner is averaging 17.6 points on 49.3 percent shooting (including 45.3 percent on 3.8 3PA/G), 6.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.5 blocks over 32.4 minutes per game in the postseason.

4h agoTowns left Tuesday's game versus the Nuggets with 2:14 remaining in the first quarter due to an apparent left knee injury but checked back in with 1:23 left in the first quarter.
Towns appeared to aggravate the left knee that he had surgically repaired in March after Kentavious Caldwell-Pope inadvertently tripped him, Vinny Benedetto of The Denver Gazette reports. However, Towns missed less than a minute of game action and should be available to finish Tuesday's contest.

Boeser has three goals and four assists during a five-game point streak. He was initially credited with the Canucks' second goal Tuesday, but it was later changed to an assist on Dakota Joshua's tally. Boeser is up to 12 points, 25 shots on net and a plus-4 rating over 10 playoff appearances. Boeser and J.T. Miller continue to form a strong partnership on the Canucks' top line.

Hughes has four assists over his last three games, though this one was his first at even strength in that span. The defenseman is up to nine helpers, 14 shots on net, 10 blocked shots and a plus-1 rating over 10 playoff appearances. Hughes is still providing solid offense and steady defense from a top-pairing role, so the lack of goals shouldn't be a concern for fantasy managers or Canucks fans.

Joshua scored late in the third period, but it wasn't late enough to prevent the Oilers from answering to get the win. The 27-year-old Joshua has eight points over 10 playoff outings, but six of them have come in a pair of three-point efforts, making him inconsistent with his contributions on offense. The winger has added seven shots on net, 54 hits and a plus-4 rating while playing on the third line.

Garland got the Canucks on the board in the third period. The winger has two goals and 11 shots on net over four games in the second round after he was held to two assists in six first-round appearances. The winger has added 19 shots, 10 hits, eight blocked shots and a plus-3 rating over 10 playoff outings while filling a middle-six role.

The Canucks battled their way back into the game in the third period, tying it at 2-2 on a Dakota Joshua goal. That lasted all of 1:02, as Evan Bouchard scored with 39 seconds left in regulation, sending Silovs to his third loss in seven playoff outings. He's now allowed three or more goals in five of his appearances. The Canucks return home with the series tied at two games apiece, though Silovs has played well enough that he'll likely get the start in Thursday's Game 5.
