Treylon Burks TEN WRTitans' Treylon Burks: Still has role in crowded WR room
6h agoCoach Brian Callahan said Thursday that Burks still has a role in Tennessee's wide receiver corps after the team's signing of veteran slot specialist Tyler Boyd, Nick Suss of the Nashville Tennessean reports.
Callahan said of Burks' offseason "the work that he's put in has been really impressive," per Turron Davenport of ESPN, but the 2022 first-round pick may nonetheless have slid to No. 4 on the depth chart following Boyd's arrival, with Calvin Ridley and DeAndre Hopkins entrenched as Will Levis' clear top targets. The 225-pound wideout could still certainly have untapped potential, as he's battled injuries throughout the first two years of his NFL career, but his path to consistent opportunities has grown murkier despite Tennessee most ignoring the WR position in April's draft. For fantasy purposes, at least, Burks' prospects for 2024 will look dim if he's not able to beat out Boyd for the No. 3 role in training camp. Callahan did, at least, say that Burks will earn opportunities to line up both inside and outside.

Evan Hull IND RBColts' Evan Hull: Healthy and vying for backup role
7h agoHull (knee) appears set to compete with Trey Sermon for the backup role behind starter Jonathan Taylor this offseason, James Boyd of The Athletic reports.
Hull is back to full health after a knee injury limited him to just one appearance as a rookie in 2023, per Paul Bretl of USA Today. After Zack Moss was able to thrive as the backup to Taylor in 2023, fantasy managers will want to keep an eye on which of Hull and Sermon managers to show out better in training camp and preseason action. Sermon could have a leg up to begin the competition, but as Boyd notes, he's totaled just 78 carries in his career and isn't significantly more established than Hull.

Ben Skowronek LAR WRTexans' Ben Skowronek: Houston swoops in for trade
8h agoThe Rams have agreed to trade Skowronek, who was slated to be waived Thursday, to the Texans, Dianna Russini of The Athletic reports.
Los Angeles informed Skowronek that he would hit waivers Thursday, but the Texans came calling before the transaction could become official. A 2021 seventh-round pick, Skowronek was mostly limited to special teams in 2023, but he racked up 376 receiving yards on 39 back in 2022, while demonstrating the versatility to line up across multiple formations. Now, Skowronek will face the challenge of competing with the likes of Robert Woods, John Metchie and Noah Brown (shoulder) for a depth role in Houston's crowded wide receiver corps.

Cedric Tillman CLE WRBrowns' Cedric Tillman: Could take step forward in Year 2
10h agoMary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain-Dealer and Zac Jackson of The Athletic suggest that Tillman (concussion) is a candidate to take a step forward in his second season as a pro.
Per Cabot, the Browns figure to frequently employ Amari Cooper, Jerry Jeudy and Elijah Moore in three-receiver sets, but Tillman nonetheless should see his share of opportunities as the season progresses, especially if injuries hit the aforementioned trio. As a rookie, the 2023 third-round pick recorded a 21-224-0 line on 44 targets in 14 regular-season games, but if he's able to carve out steadier playing time in 2024, the 6-foot-3, 215-pounder -- who missed Cleveland's wild-card loss to the Texans with a concussion -- could emerge as a solid complementary option alongside the team's top pass catchers. Also in the mix for snaps in the Browns' WR corps are 2022 third-rounder David Bell and 2024 fifth-rounder Jamari Thrash.

Ben Skowronek: Time up with Rams
10h agoThe Rams are slated to waive Skowronek, Dianna Russini of The Athletic reports.
Skowronek, a 2021 seventh-round pick, finished his third season with the Rams with a career-low 66 receiving yards across 17 appearances, while mostly contributing on special teams. The soon-to-be 27-year-old is versatile enough to line up in a variety of roles on offense, so it's a bit of a surprise to see him be cut before training camp. He figures to resurface in a depth role elsewhere in the league.

Allen Robinson PIT WRGiants' Allen Robinson: Seeking rebound with Big Blue
13h agoRobinson signed a contract with the Giants on Thursday, ESPN.com reports.
Robinson was cut by the Steelers earlier this offseason in a move to save salary cap space, and he now gets an opportunity to reignite his career in New York, where there's a need for a big-bodied target for Daniel Jones (knee) while Darren Waller's future remains in flux. Malik Nabers, taken sixth overall in April's draft, figures to dominate the Giants' wide receiver opportunities out of the gate, while Darius Slayton (thumb) and Wan'Dale Robinson seem likely to also start in three-wide sets. Robinson racked up just 34 catches for 280 yards on 49 targets with Pittsburgh last season, despite suiting up for all 17 games, so he's no lock to beat out Jalin Hyatt for the No. 4 role this offseason.

Kyren Paris LAA SSAngels' Kyren Paris: Promoted to majors
23m agoParis was recalled from Double-A Rocket City on Thursday.
With both Brandon Drury (hamstring) and Luis Rengifo (illness) sidelined, the Angels were shorthanded along the infield. Paris boasts enough defensive versatility to help the team in that regard, as he is capable of playing second base and shortstop as well as in the outfield. His ability to contribute as a hitter is far less clear, as he was striking out at a 39.1 percent clip across 92 plate appearances with Rocket City prior to his promotion.

Luis Rengifo LAA 2BAngels' Luis Rengifo: Sidelined by illness
29m agoRengifo (illness) was placed on the 10-day injured list Thursday.
Rengifo has been held out of the lineup for five straight games with the illness, so his stint on the injured list will be retroactive to May 6. Kyren Paris was recalled from Double-A Rocket City in the corresponding move and should take over in a utility role while Rengifo is sidelined.

32m agoDrury (hamstring) was placed on the 10-day injured list Thursday.
Drury exited Wednesday's game after dealing with tightness in his hamstring, an issue he first dealt with in mid-April. He'll be sidelined for at least the next 10 days, leaving Luis Guillorme as the Angels' projected starting second baseman in the short term.

1h agoMarinaccio was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes/Barre on Thursday.
Marinnacio made eight appearances in the majors since being recalled April 13 and posted a 1.42 ERA and 0.79 WHIP with an 10:5 K:BB across 12.2 innings. Despite being effective, he'll head back to the minors to make room for Nick Burdi (hip).

Hunter Greene CIN SPReds' Hunter Greene: Struggles with command vs. Arizona
3h agoGreene did not factor into the decision Thursday against the Diamondbacks, allowing three runs on four hits and five walks over five innings. He struck out six.
Greene's final line ultimately could've looked a lot worse after he issued a season-high five walks. The 24-year-old Greene has given up nine free passes over his last two starts (10.2 innings), though he's managed to hold opponents to just three runs in that span. Overall, he's 1-2 on the season with a 1.24 WHIP and 53:21 K:BB through eight starts (45.1 innings). Greene's currently slated for a rematch with the Diamondbacks on the road in his next outing.

1m agoBrown posted 19 points (7-17 FG, 0-6 3pt, 5-5 FT), four rebounds and one assist over 31 minutes in Thursday's 118-94 loss to the Cavaliers in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Brown struggled from deep in Thursday's contest, not connecting on a three but still ending second on the team in scoring in a near 20-point outing in a Game 2 defeat. Brown had a down game in comparison to Tuesday's 32-point showing in Game 1 and Boston will need the star guard to contribute more in order to steal a game on the road in Game 3 and break a series tie with Cleveland.

Payton Pritchard BOS PGCeltics' Payton Pritchard: Leads bench again in Game 2
1m agoPritchard notched 13 points (6-10 FG, 1-4 3Pt), four assists, two rebounds and one steal over 20 minutes in Thursday's 118-94 loss to the Cavaliers in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Pritchard once again provide a spark off the Celtics bench in Thursday's contest, leading all Boston bench players in scoring and assists while ending as one of five Celtics in double figures in scoring in a losing effort. Pritchard has had a strong semifinals series through two games, reaching double figures in both games while playing at least 20 minutes off the bench in both contests. It will be key for the Celtics to get contributions from Pritchard and the rest of the bench this series, and we will likely continue to see Pritchard earn a large chunk of minutes on the second unit.

Donovan Mitchell CLE SGCavaliers' Donovan Mitchell: Leads offensively in Game 2 victory
14m agoMitchell tallied 29 points (10-19 FG, 5-7 3Pt, 4-6 FT), eight assists and seven rebounds over 40 minutes in Thursday's 118-94 win over the Celtics in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Mitchell led Cleveland offensively in a bounce-back performance in Game 2 to even the series with Boston, leading all players in the contest in scoring, threes made and assists while ending one point shy of the 30-point mark in the road game. Mitchell has done it all for the Cavaliers through two games against the Celtics, averaging 31 points so far in the semifinals. Mitchell posted his first game of the postseason with at least seven rebounds and seven assists, also setting a playoff high in threes made in the victory.

Evan Mobley CLE PFCavaliers' Evan Mobley: Steps up with all-around Game 2
15m agoMobley recorded 21 points (9-15 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 10 rebounds, five assists, two blocks and one steal over 33 minutes in Thursday's 118-94 win over the Celtics in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Mobley stepped up as the starting center while Jarrett Allen (ribs) remained out in Game 2, leading all players in the contest in rebounds and blocks to go along with a handful of assists while ending as one of three Cavaliers with 20 or more points in a double-double performance. Mobley is off to a hot start in the series against Boston, posting a double-double in both games thus far. If Mobley is able to continue to play well for Cleveland, that will provide a much-needed lift for the Cavaliers against a dominant Celtics squad.

15m agoLeVert ended with 21 points (9-17 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 3-4 FT), six rebounds and three assists over 27 minutes in Thursday's 118-94 win over the Celtics in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
LeVert made the most of his time off the bench in Game 2, ending as one of three Cavaliers with 20 or more points while helping Cleveland claim a much-needed victory to even the series against Boston. LeVert didn't connect on a three but still ended tied for second on the team in scoring to go along with a half-dozen rebounds and a trio of assists. LeVert had a bounce-back game after recording just four points in Tuesday's Game 1, playing a big part in Cleveland being able to steal a game on the road as it now returns home to try and take a lead in the series.

2h agoProsper (ankle) will remain on the sidelines for Thursday's Game 2 matchup with the Thunder.
Prosper has been out ever since tweaking his ankle in Game 1 of Dallas' First Round series, and considering we haven't heard any positive updates, it's safe to assume he's still not close. For now, we would consider him doubtful for Game 3 on Saturday.

Kiviranta missed the previous three contests because of the injury. He has an assist in three playoff outings this year and finished the regular season with three goals and nine points in 56 appearances. Kiviranta is set to play on the third line alongside Miles Wood and Ross Colton in Game 2. Chris Wagner will be a healthy scratch due to Kiviranta's return.

4h agoChytil (head) has been activated off long-term injured reserve and is expected to play in Game 3 against Carolina on Thursday, per Vince Z. Mercogliano of USA Today.
Chytil had six assists in 10 regular-season contests, but he hasn't been in the lineup since Nov. 2 because of the injury. He's projected to serve on the third line alongside Alexander Wennberg and Kaapo Kakko Thursday. Matt Rempe is set to be a healthy scratch for the first time in the 2023-24 postseason.

Shesterkin is 6-0 with a 2.01 GAA and a .929 save percentage over six playoff contests. He earned a 28-save shutout win in his lone appearance in Carolina during the regular season, and he's gone 4-1-0 with 13 goals allowed over five total contests versus the Hurricanes in 2023-24.

Adam Henrique EDM COilers' Adam Henrique: Remains day-to-day
5h agoHenrique (lower body) is questionable for Game 2 against Vancouver on Friday, per Daniel Nugent-Bowman of The Athletic on Thursday.
Henrique was described as "day-to-day" by coach Kris Knoblauch. The 34-year-old missed Wednesday's 5-4 loss to Vancouver due to the injury. He has a goal and two points in five playoff outings this year. Leon Draisaitl's (undisclosed) status for Friday's contest is also in question, so if Henrique is available, but Draisaitl isn't, then Henrique might slide into the second-line center slot. Connor Brown will likely play if at least one of those two players is out, but he will probably be a healthy scratch if Henrique and Draisaitl are both able to play.
