Bud Dupree ATL OLBChargers' Bud Dupree: Set to join Chargers
8h agoDupree will sign a two-year contract with the Chargers, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Dupree reportedly met with both the Falcons and Steelers recently in addition to the Chargers, and it appears that he'll end up with Los Angeles. The veteran edge rusher enjoyed a solid bounce-back campaign with Atlanta last season, recording 39 tackles (his most since 2019), including 6.5 sacks (his most since 2020). Dupree will add to an already formidable Chargers pass rush that also includes Joey Bosa (foot), Khalil Mack and Tuli Tuipulotu.

13h agoThe Panthers waived Parker with an undisclosed non-football injury Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
The details and severity of Parker's injury are unknown, other than the fact that it did not occur on the football field. The cornerback will now be available to be claimed off waivers should any other teams show interest.

13h agoWilliams was waived/injured by the Panthers on Friday due to an undisclosed injury, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
No details have been released regarding more information on the severity of Williams' injury. He will presumably revert to Carolina's injured reserve assuming he clears waivers, which means his 2024 season will be done unless both parties can reach an injury settlement.

There is no word on the severity of Manning's injury. Assuming he clears waivers, the guard will subsequently revert to Carolina's injured reserve. From there, he would need to reach an injury settlement with the team at some point lest his 2024 season comes to a premature end.

Bradlee Anae NYJ DEFalcons' Bradlee Anae: Inks deal with Atlanta
16h agoAnae (undisclosed) has agreed to terms on a contract with the Falcons, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
This news comes less than 24 hours after Anae's tryout in Atlanta. His 2023 season came to an end early, as the Jets placed him on injured reserve nearly one year ago with an undisclosed injury presumably suffered during offseason workouts. The defensive end's addition to Atlanta's roster indicates his health is back up to par, so he will now compete for a role in the trenches.

1d agoThe Texans waived Doaks on Friday.
Doaks spent most of the past two seasons with Houston's practice squad and had signed a reserve/future contract with the club in January. However, he was cut Friday after the Texans reshaped their running back room in the offseason by trading for Joe Mixon, adding Jawhar Jordan in the draft and signing British Brooks as an undrafted free agent. Doaks has yet to play a snap in the NFL.

1m agoHenderson went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Saturday's 5-4 extra-innings win over the Diamondbacks.
Henderson regained a share of the major-league lead with his 12th homer of the campaign, putting him in a tie with Atlanta's Marcell Ozuna and Houston's Kyle Tucker. While he's hit two homers over the last three games, Henderson has just three multi-hit efforts in May, a month that's seen him go 8-for-34 (.235) over nine contests. It's little to be concerned about considering how well he's played overall -- he has a .278/.355/.583 slash line with 27 RBI, 30 runs scored and six stolen bases over 38 games. Henderson's in little risk of losing his place as the Orioles' starting shortstop and leadoff hitter.

Stallings is known for his glove and is a reliable backup catcher, but he's been quite productive at the dish of late. Across his last six appearances, he's hit .350 with eight RBI and three runs scored. Stallings has seen a moderate uptick in playing time of late, as Saturday marked his third time in the lineup in the last seven games.

11m agoBregman went 1-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored Saturday against the Tigers.
Bregman delivered an RBI single in the fourth inning to extend his hitting streak to three games. While that's not particularly notable, he's collected a hit in three straight starts only two other times this season, with the most recent stretch ending April 15. The end result is that Bregman has just a .201 batting average across 154 plate appearances on the campaign, though he has improved his production of late by tallying six RBI across his last 13 contests.

Yasmani Grandal PIT CPirates' Yasmani Grandal: Clubs first homer of 2024
2h agoGrandal went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run and a second run scored in Saturday's 10-9 win over the Cubs.
The veteran catcher took Keegan Thompson deep in the bottom of the fifth inning to put the Pirates back on top for good after the Cubs had struck for seven runs in the top of the frame. It was Grandal's first homer and first RBI in five games since making his season debut May 4, and he's gone 4-for-17 over that stretch as he settles into the starting job for Pittsburgh.

2h agoBednar gave up a run on two hits in the ninth inning Saturday to record his seventh save of the season in a 10-9 win over the Cubs.
The right-hander made things interesting, giving up back-to-back hits to begin the ninth and allowing the tying run to get to third base with two outs, but Bednar escaped the jam. He's converted his last six save chances but has been very volatile while doing it, getting tagged for runs in five of 11 appearances over that stretch while posting an 8.38 ERA and 12:3 K:BB through 9.2 innings. Bednar still has a grip on the Pirates' closer role, but it may not be a firm one.

Paul Skenes PIT SPPirates' Paul Skenes: Fans seven in MLB debut
2h agoSkenes came away with a no-decision in Saturday's 10-9 win over the Cubs, giving up three runs on six hits and two walks over four-plus innings. He struck out seven.
The 21-year-old right-hander displayed some nerves in his big-league debut, throwing only 54 of 84 pitches for strikes, but he flashed his upside right out of the gate by hitting triple digits on the radar gun on his first two career pitches and reaching 100 mph on five fastballs in total against the first batter he faced, eventually striking out Chicago leadoff man Mike Tauchman on a 100.9 mph four-seamer. Skenes isn't heading back to the minors any time soon, and his next start should come on the road next week in a rematch with the Cubs.

5h agoHolmgren finished Saturday's 105-101 loss to Dallas in Game 3 of the Western Conference Semifinals with 13 points (5-9 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 3-5 FT), eight rebounds, three assists, four blocks and one steal in 35 minutes.
Holmgren has struggled a bit against Dallas' defensive front through three games after averaging 15.5 points, 8.8 rebounds and 2.8 blocked shots over four games against the Pelicans. The Mavericks have been able to stay fresh in the paint with Daniel Gafford and Dereck Lively platooning at the five, and Jaylin Williams hasn't offered the same kind of secondary support. Holmgren has also failed to keep Luka Doncic off the glass, and he'll need to improve in several areas to keep the Thunder in the series.

5h agoWilliams totaled 16 points (7-12 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), six rebounds, eight assists and one block across 38 minutes during Saturday's 105-101 loss to Dallas in Game 3 of the Western Conference Semifinals.
Although Williams headed to the locker room with an apparent ankle injury, he eventually returned to the court and finished as the team's second-highest scorer. Williams has been an invaluable piece of the Thunder's game plan on both sides of the ball, and his DFS salary has steadily risen throughout the playoffs. Josh Giddey's inconsistent play has forced Williams to produce with more frequency, and although Luguentz Dort has shown signs of life in the postseason, his defensive prowess doesn't always translate to favorable fantasy totals. Along with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Chet Holmgren, Williams will likely continue to be one of the team's best fantasy assets.

Gilgeous-Alexander continued his run of stellar production in the Game 3 loss. The All-Star averaged a stunning 28.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 6.2 assists over six playoff games heading into Saturday's contest, making him one of the league's most prolific postseason contributors. His most noticeable stat of the evening was a career-high five blocked shots. Prior to Saturday, the guard had recorded four swats three times in his pro career.

Washington enjoyed another splendid shooting night beyond the arc after draining seven shots from downtown in Game 2. The 23 shot attempts matched a season high for Washington, who is averaging 13.0 points, 6.1 rebounds, 1.5 steals, 1.3 assists and 1.0 blocks in the playoffs. He's also converting 52.9 percent of his shots during the postseason.

6h agoDoncic totaled 22 points (7-17 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 7-10 FT), 15 rebounds, five assists and two steals across 40 minutes during Saturday's 105-101 victory over the Thunder in Game 3 of the Western Conference Semifinals.
Doncic sealed the Game 3 win by winning a jump ball in the closing seconds and grabbing the loose ball before the buzzer. While Doncic's inspired play was a clear difference-maker in the victory, he left the court favoring his left ankle. His injury struggles were noticeable throughout the game, as his ankle and lingering knee issue limited his speed in transition. Still, Doncic played through the pain and delivered his best rebound total of the postseason. Although Doncic may find himself on the injury report for Monday evening's rematch, he'll carry a full load if his body can take the beating.

6h agoIrving notched 22 points (10-17 FG, 2-6 3Pt), five rebounds, seven assists, one block and one steal over 41 minutes during Saturday's 105-101 win over the Thunder in Game 3 of the Western Conference Semifinals.
After a season-low nine points in Game 2, Irving came back with a diverse stat line, helping the Mavericks go up in the series. Irving complemented teammate Luka Doncic with a series of key plays in the closing minutes, draining all four of his shots in the final stanza. Irving led the team with seven assists, which marked the fourth time the All-Star exceeded his season average in that category during the playoffs.

5m agoToews posted an assist, five shots on goal and two hits in Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Stars in Game 3.
Toews helped out on a Mikko Rantanen tally in the second period. The helper was Toews' first point over three appearances in the second round. The defenseman is up to six points, 15 shots on net, 14 hits, eight blocked shots and a plus-4 rating through eight playoff contests. He continues to play on the top pairing, which gives him plenty of ice time with the Avalanche's top players.

Nathan MacKinnon COL CAvalanche's Nathan MacKinnon: Lends helper in loss
7m agoMacKinnon supplied an assist, three shots on goal, two hits and a minus-2 rating in Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Stars in Game 3.
MacKinnon was silenced in Game 2, ending an eight-game point streak. The 28-year-old was able to contribute the primary assist on Mikko Rantanen's goal in Game 3, though the Avalanche did little else on offense. MacKinnon is up to 12 points, 34 shots on net and a plus-2 rating through eight playoff contests, with six of his points coming on the power play.

9m agoRantanen scored a goal on four shots in Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Stars in Game 3.
Rantanen tied the game at 1-1 in the second period, but the Avalanche couldn't build on his goal. The winger was held off the scoresheet for the first time in the playoffs in Game 2, but he bounced back well. He's produced three goals, nine assists, 21 shots on net, 14 hits, 11 blocked shots and a plus-4 rating over eight postseason appearances in a top-line role.

Alexandar Georgiev COL GAvalanche's Alexandar Georgiev: Takes another loss
10m agoGeorgiev surrendered two goals on 21 shots in Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Stars in Game 4. The last two goals were empty-netters.
Georgiev played better than the final score would indicate, but the Stars' overall game was too much for the Avalanche to handle. He's now lost consecutive contests for the first time this postseason. The 28-year-old is 5-3 with a 2.97 GAA and an .893 save percentage over eight playoff contests -- which is fairly similar to how he performed in the regular season. The Avalanche's offense is strong enough to avoid asking Georgiev to steal games, but he will need to be just a bit sharper in Monday's Game 4 to avoid putting his team on the brink of elimination.

Sam Steel DAL CStars' Sam Steel: Posts assist in Game 3 win
17m agoSteel logged an assist and two shots on goal in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Avalanche in Game 3.
Steel has just two assists to go with eight shots on net and 15 hits through 10 playoff outings. He's exceeded 14 minutes of ice time in four straight games despite being listed on the Stars' fourth line. Steel is far from a reliable scorer, but he appears to have the trust of head coach Pete DeBoer to handle a versatile depth role during the postseason.

Evgenii Dadonov DAL RWStars' Evgenii Dadonov: Contributes helper in win
19m agoDadonov recorded an assist in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Avalanche in Game 3.
Dadonov ended a four-game slump when he set up the first of Tyler Seguin's two goals in the game. With four points and nine shots on net over 10 playoff appearances, Dadonov is doing a decent job at providing depth scoring for the Stars. He remains in a bottom-six role and is unlikely to produce consistent offense.
