AJ Parker: Waived with non-football injury
5h agoThe Panthers waived Parker with an undisclosed non-football injury Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
The details and severity of Parker's injury are unknown, other than the fact that it did not occur on the football field. The cornerback will now be available to be claimed off waivers should any other teams show interest.

Raequan Williams CAR DT
Raequan Williams: Gets waived/injured
5h agoWilliams was waived/injured by the Panthers on Friday due to an undisclosed injury, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
No details have been released regarding more information on the severity of Williams' injury. He will presumably revert to Carolina's injured reserve assuming he clears waivers, which means his 2024 season will be done unless both parties can reach an injury settlement.

Ilm Manning CAR OT
Ilm Manning: Waived/injured by Carolina
5h agoManning was waived/injured by the Panthers on Friday with an undisclosed injury, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
There is no word on the severity of Manning's injury. Assuming he clears waivers, the guard will subsequently revert to Carolina's injured reserve. From there, he would need to reach an injury settlement with the team at some point lest his 2024 season comes to a premature end.

Bradlee Anae NYJ DE
Falcons' Bradlee Anae: Inks deal with Atlanta
7h agoAnae (undisclosed) has agreed to terms on a contract with the Falcons, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
This news comes less than 24 hours after Anae's tryout in Atlanta. His 2023 season came to an end early, as the Jets placed him on injured reserve nearly one year ago with an undisclosed injury presumably suffered during offseason workouts. The defensive end's addition to Atlanta's roster indicates his health is back up to par, so he will now compete for a role in the trenches.

Gerrid Doaks HOU RB
Gerrid Doaks: Cut by Houston
23h agoThe Texans waived Doaks on Friday.
Doaks spent most of the past two seasons with Houston's practice squad and had signed a reserve/future contract with the club in January. However, he was cut Friday after the Texans reshaped their running back room in the offseason by trading for Joe Mixon, adding Jawhar Jordan in the draft and signing British Brooks as an undrafted free agent. Doaks has yet to play a snap in the NFL.

Je'Quan Burton 2005 WR
Dolphins' Je'Quan Burton: Headed to Miami
1d agoThe Dolphins signed Burton on Friday.
As a senior at Florida Atlantic, Burton hauled in 24 passes for 277 yards and two touchdowns. Miami's wide receiver depth chart will be tough to crack for any undrafted rookie ahead of 2024.

Matt Manning DET SP
Tigers' Matt Manning: Set to start Monday for Detroit
11m agoThe Tigers are set to promote Manning from Triple-A Toledo to start Monday against the Marlins, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Manning is set to rejoin the big club after Kenta Maeda was placed on the 15-day IL due to a viral illness. Manning started for the Tigers as the 27th man against the Cardinals on April 30, when he gave up four runs on seven hits and two walks over 4.2 innings while striking out seven in a no-decision. The 26-year-old right-hander holds a 0-1 record over three major-league starts with a 4.24 ERA and 1.18 WHIP this season.

Shea Langeliers OAK C
Athletics' Shea Langeliers: Sitting Saturday
12m agoLangeliers is not in Saturday's lineup against the Mariners.
Langeliers is on a heater, batting .429 with three home runs, two triples and two doubles in his last five games. Kyle McCann is starting behind the dish and hitting sixth.

Akil Baddoo DET LF
Tigers' Akil Baddoo: Brought up to big club
18m agoThe Tigers recalled Baddoo from Triple-A Toledo on Saturday.
Baddoo wasn't able to make the Tigers' Opening Day roster after going 3-for-25 with 13 strikeouts during spring training. The 25-year-old is slashing .257/.366/.478 with 11 stolen bases, four triples, four home runs and 16 RBI over 134 plate appearances in Triple-A. He appeared in 112 games with Detroit last season, posting a .218/.310/.372 with 11 home runs and 34 RBI over 357 plate appearances.

Matt Manning DET SP
Tigers' Matt Manning: Likely Maeda replacement
25m agoManning will likely rejoin the big-league rotation with Kenta Maeda (viral illness) being placed on the 15-day injured list Saturday, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.
Jack Flaherty is currently listed as the starter for Sunday's game against the Astros, but given that Manning was scratched from his Saturday start for Toledo, it's possible he could start Sunday, or at least Monday against the Marlins. Manning has a 4.24 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 17 strikeouts in 17 innings through three MLB starts this year.

Kenta Maeda DET SP
Tigers' Kenta Maeda: Lands on IL
28m agoThe Tigers placed Maeda on the 15-day injured list Saturday, retroactive to May 8, due to a viral illness.
Maeda's ailment may in part explain his struggles in his last start against the Guardians on Tuesday, when he allowed seven runs on five hits across two innings and did not factor into the decision. The veteran right-hander will be on the shelf until at least May 23, which would line up with the start of a three-game home series against the Blue Jays. The Tigers recalled outfielder Akil Baddoo from Triple-A Toledo in a corresponding move, but Detroit could look to bring up Matt Manning from Triple-A to bolster the rotation in Maeda's absence.

Brandon Nimmo NYM LF
Mets' Brandon Nimmo: Exits with intercostal irritation
38m agoNimmo left Saturday's game against Atlanta with right intercostal irritation, Jorge Castillo of ESPN.com reports.
Nimmo went 0-for-1 with a walk before exiting after the fourth inning. He suffered the injury on a checked swing and may undergo further tests after the game. Tyrone Taylor replaced Nimmo in left field.

Nickeil Alexander-Walker MIN SF
Timberwolves' Nickeil Alexander-Walker: Not on injury report
23m agoAlexander-Walker is not on the injury report ahead of Sunday's Game 4 against the Nuggets.
Alexander-Walker appeared to hurt his left shoulder during Game 3 Friday, and he was complaining about the pain in the locker room after the game. However, it appears that he escaped without anything too serious, and fantasy managers can expect him to suit up in his usual role Sunday.

Tyrese Haliburton IND PG
Pacers' Tyrese Haliburton: Questionable to play Sunday
35m agoHaliburton is questionable for Sunday's Game 4 against the Knicks due to back and ankle injuries.
Haliburton is pretty banged up, as the star floor general is dealing with three different injuries ahead of Sunday's contest: low back spasms, a sacral contusion and a right ankle sprain. Haliburton has been playing well of late and has surpassed the 30-point mark in each of Indiana's last two games.
-
Aaron Nesmith IND SF
Pacers' Aaron Nesmith: Iffy for Game 4
39m agoNesmith is questionable for Sunday's Game 4 against New York with right shoulder soreness.
Nesmith's shoulder injury is new, as he seemingly picked up the issue during the Pacers Game 3 win. Nesmith has averaged 34.3 minutes per game during the series, which could open up plenty of minutes for Doug McDermott and Ben Sheppard if Nesmith winds up sitting Sunday.
-
OG Anunoby NY SF
Knicks' OG Anunoby: Ruled out for Game 4
41m agoAnunoby (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's Game 4 against the Pacers.
This is hardly a surprise given how tricky hamstring injuries are to deal with. Anunoby has been traveling with the team and is likely getting treatment around the clock. In the meantime, the Knicks are likely to play a very tight rotation with Alec Burks getting extended run in Game 4.
-
Jalen Williams OKC SF
Thunder's Jalen Williams: Checking back in
44m agoWilliams (ankle) has returned to Saturday's Game 3 against the Mavericks, Tim MacMahon of ESPN.com reports.
Williams took a trip to the locker room late in the third quarter with what seemed to be a left ankle injury, but he'll be back in action for the fourth period. His return should mean fewer minutes for Gordon Hayward and Jaylin Williams down the stretch.

Jalen Williams OKC SF
Thunder's Jalen Williams: Heads to locker room
1h agoWilliams went to the locker room during Saturday's Game 3 with what appears to be a left ankle injury, Tim MacMahon of ESPN.com reports.
Williams stepped on Josh Green's foot and went down while the play continued. He limped off the court and directly into the locker room, where he'll undergo further evaluation. While he's out, Jaylin Williams and Gordon Hayward could see more action.

Stars' Jani Hakanpaa: Still unavailable
2h agoHakanpaa (lower body) won't play Saturday in Game 3 against Colorado, according to Lia Assimakopoulos of The Dallas Morning News.
Hakanpaa missed the final 13 games of the regular season and will sit out his 10th consecutive playoff contest. He earned two goals, 12 points, 56 shots on net, 123 blocked shots and 196 hits in 64 appearances during the 2023-24 campaign.

-
Arvid Holm COL G
Arvid Holm: Signs overseas
5h agoHolm has signed a three-year contract with Rogle BK of the SHL, Brennan Vogt of The-Rink.com reports.
This deal could spell the end of Holm's career in North America. The 25-year-old netminder didn't appear in an NHL game -- he went 6-6-0 with an .887 save percentage with AHL Colorado this year.
-
Brad Marchand BOS LW
Bruins' Brad Marchand: Deemed day-to-day
5h agoMarchand (upper body) was deemed day-to-day by coach Jim Montgomery on Saturday.
Marchand was forced out of Friday's 6-2 Game 3 loss after taking a hit from Sam Bennett. The 36-year-old Marchand has three goals and 10 points in 10 games this postseason. He'll likely be a game-time decision prior to Game 4 on Sunday. Jesper Boqvist would likely reenter the lineup if Marchand ultimately can't play.
-
Filip Chytil NYR C
Rangers' Filip Chytil: Not skating Saturday
6h agoChytil (illness) wasn't present at morning skate Saturday prior to Game 4 in Carolina, Vince Z. Mercogliano of USA Today reports.
Chytil played 12:02 of ice time in Game 3, marking his first appearance since early November as he returned from a head injury. There's a chance the Rangers hold the 24-year-old center out Saturday, which would allow Matt Rempe to slot back into the lineup.
-
Carson Soucy VAN D
Canucks' Carson Soucy: Supplies assist in loss
16h agoSoucy logged an assist and two PIM in Friday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Oilers in Game 2.
Soucy has found more success in the second round with three helpers over two games after he put up just one assist in six contests during the first round versus the Predators. The 29-year-old blueliner isn't expected to put up a lot of offense while filling a bottom-four role on defense. Soucy has added 24 hits, seven blocked shots, four PIM and a plus-2 rating through eight playoff contests.
