Michael Wilson ARI WR
Cardinals' Michael Wilson: Outlook muddied after recent arrivals
4h agoWilson has more competition for targets from quarterback Kyler Murray after the team selected Marvin Harrison fourth overall in this year's draft and then signed seven-year pro Zay Jones last week, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
Wilson spent much of the offseason No. 2, at best, in the pecking order in the Cardinals passing game behind tight end Trey McBride, but the recent additions leave Wilson's potential volume in the upcoming campaign up in the air. As a rookie second-round pick last year, Wilson put together a 38-565-3 line on 58 targets in 13 contests, but he produced just 13 catches (on 25 targets) for 164 yards and one touchdown in five outings with Murray under center. The arrival of the dynamic Harrison likely leaves Wilson fending for looks with Jones, who has three years with at least 500 receiving yards on his resume.

Jonah Elliss DEN DE
Broncos' Jonah Elliss: On pace with recovery
5h agoElliss (shoulder) should be fully healed by training camp, Mike Klis of 9News reports.
Elliss underwent surgery to repair a torn shoulder labrum six months ago, but he still isn't quite 100 percent. However, the Broncos' 2024 third-round selection was able to take part in walkthroughs and individual portions of the team's recent rookie minicamp. The son of former NFL player, Luther Elliss, Jonah projects to be a pass-rush specialist after recording 12 sacks in just 10 games at Utah last season.

Lucas Havrisik CLE K
Lucas Havrisik: Loses spot
6h agoHavrisik was waived by the Browns on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Havrisik signed a reserve/future contract with Cleveland in January after the Rams waived him. He was expected to at least have the opportunity to compete with Dustin Hopkins (hamstring) and Cade York for the team's kicker job in 2024, but instead, he'll become a free agent once again.
-
Corey Luciano SF C
Corey Luciano: Cut loose from team
6h agoLuciano was waived by the 49ers on Tuesday, David Lombardi of The Athletic reports.
Luciano was set to get a second opportunity with the 49ers after appearing in two games with the franchise last season. However, he'll now hit the open market again, to make room for swing tackle Chris Hubbard, and to keep San Francisco under the 90-man roster limit.

Jahmyr Gibbs DET RB
Lions' Jahmyr Gibbs: To see more touches in 2024
6h agoAppearing on The Rich Eisen Show on Monday, Lions GM Brad Holmes said he "definitely would expect" Gibbs to "see more of the load" out of the backfield in 2024.
Holmes added that he thinks Gibbs will also be even more involved in the passing game in his second season. Only seven running backs saw more targets than Gibbs' 71 in 2023, and his 52 catches were tied for the ninth-most at the position. Backfield mate David Montgomery out-carried Gibbs 219 to 182, but Gibbs had a commanding edge in the pass game with 47 more targets than the veteran. There's reason to believe Gibbs' touches will rise in 2024, but Montgomery isn't going away. This backfield will remain a one-two punch, and Montgomery is the favorite for carries when the Lions are trying to kill the clock when they have a lead. Gibbs' fantasy ceiling remains extremely high due to the overall explosive nature of Detroit's offense.

Earnest Brown IV SF DE
49ers' Earnest Brown: Gets let go
6h agoBrown was waived by the 49ers on Tuesday, David Lombardi of The Athletic reports.
Brown headed to San Francisco in February after appearing in 12 games over two seasons with the Rams. The Northwestern product will depart the team, along with center Corey Luciano, to make room for recent additions, Chris Hubbard and Shakel Brown to keep the 49ers under the current 90-man roster limit.

Jarren Duran BOS CF
Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Running less
29m agoDuran has attempted five steals over the last 35 games, after he opened the season with six steals in the first six games.
There are a few factors that explain the drop in attempts, per Alex Speier of The Boston Globe. Opposing teams became aware of Duran's potential impact, and the Red Sox have been more judicious after running into several outs early in the season. Additionally, manager Alex Cora asked Duran to run less given that he plays every day.

Jorge Soler SF DH
Giants' Jorge Soler: Fine after freak accident
37m agoSoler (shoulder/head) didn't suffer any significant injuries after getting hit in the head while hitting on the field Tuesday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Soler took swings on the field before Tuesday's game against the Dodgers as the next step in rehabbing his strained right shoulder, but he was removed by a trainer after a foul ball hit off the top of the cage and struck him in the head. However, it appears the outfielder managed to escape the incident with minimal damage. He will be eligible to come off the injured list Wednesday, though there is no telling whether or not he'll be ready to play then.

Liam Hendriks BOS RP
Red Sox's Liam Hendriks: Extends throwing program
38m agoHendriks (elbow) extended his throwing program out to 120 feet Monday, Alex Speier of The Boston Globe reports.
Hendriks also threw pitches off flat ground. He believes he's on track for a return roughly at the trade deadline, which would be about the one-year anniversary of the reliever's Tommy John surgery.

Marco Luciano SF SS
Giants' Marco Luciano: Recalled from Triple-A
1h agoThe Giants recalled Luciano from Triple-A Sacramento on Tuesday.
Luciano has spent the entire season with Sacramento so far, slashing .266/.399/.344 with 20 RBI across 158 plate appearances. He'll come up from the minors to give San Francisco additional infield depth, taking the roster spot of Patrick Bailey (concussion).
-
Patrick Bailey SF C
Giants' Patrick Bailey: Back on concussion IL
1h agoThe Giants placed Bailey on the 7-day concussion IL on Tuesday, retroactive to Sunday.
Bailey missed the Giants' last two games due to an illness, and he met with a team doctor Monday to determine whether or not his illness was related to the concussion he suffered earlier in May. He will now return to the concussion IL and will be eligible to return to action Sunday, though the Giants will likely be more cautious this time around before inserting him back into their lineup. Blake Sabol will take over as San Francisco's primary catcher while Bailey is out, and Marco Luciano will come up from Triple-A Sacramento to fill the open roster spot.
-
Ronel Blanco HOU SP
Astros' Ronel Blanco: Ejected after substance check
1h agoBlanco was ejected from Tuesday's game against the A's ahead of the fourth inning after umpires examined his glove for a foreign substance, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.
The umpires confiscated Blanco's glove for further examination from Major League Baseball, and the 30-year-old righty will be hit with an automatic 10-game suspension if it's determined he used an illegal substance while on the mound. Blanco has emerged as a crucial part of Houston's rotation this year, carrying a 2.23 ERA and 1.02 WHIP alongside a 41:20 K:BB across 44.1 innings through his first seven starts. He had fired three scoreless innings while striking out four batters and walking one before getting tossed from Tuesday's contest.

-
Mike Conley MIN PG
Timberwolves' Mike Conley: Ruled out for Game 5
33m agoConley (Achilles) won't play in Tuesday's Game 5 against the Nuggets, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
Conley has been downgraded from questionable to out Tuesday due to right Achilles soreness. In his absence, Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Monte Morris will likely receive increased playing time. Conley's next chance to suit up is Game 6 on Thursday.
-
Jamal Murray DEN PG
Nuggets' Jamal Murray: Available for Tuesday
1h agoMurray (calf) is available for Tuesday's Game 5 against Minnesota.
Questionable tags have been par for the course for Murray in this series, but he continues to push through his calf strain. He's not expected to have any restrictions Tuesday evening.
-
OG Anunoby NY SF
Knicks' OG Anunoby: Likely out for remainder of series
2h agoAnunoby (hamstring) is targeting a return for the Eastern Conference Finals, per Chris Haynes on TNT's NBA Tip-Off broadcast.
Anunoby is already set to miss his third straight game Tuesday due to a left hamstring strain and now appears likely to miss the remainder of the series against Indiana. If the Knicks are able to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals, Anunoby should reclaim his starting spot. However, Miles McBride and Precious Achiuwa will likely continue to receive increased playing time in his absence.
-
Precious Achiuwa NY PF
Knicks' Precious Achiuwa: Heads to bench
3h agoAchiuwa isn't in the starting lineup in Tuesday's Game 5 against the Pacers, Tony East of SI.com reports.
Achiuwa will be replaced by Miles McBride in the starting five Tuesday. Achiuwa is averaging 2.5 points and 3.3 rebounds in 13.7 minutes across his last 10 appearances coming off the bench.
-
Miles McBride NY PG
Knicks' Miles McBride: Enters starting lineup
3h agoMcBride will enter the starting lineup for Tuesday's Game 5 against the Pacers, Tony East of SI.com reports.
The Knicks have dropped two games in a row and the series is tied, so they will shake things up by going smaller. With McBride starting, Precious Achiuwa will head to the bench. McBride was terrific in Sunday's Game 4, scoring 16 points with five rebounds and four assists in 32 minutes.
-
Trent Frederic BOS C
Bruins' Trent Frederic: Picks up assist
2m agoFrederic logged an assist, three shots on goal and three hits in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Panthers in Game 5.
Frederic hasn't scored a goal in seven games, and he's added a modest two assists in that span. The 26-year-old winger has seen a bump up into the top six while Brad Marchand (upper body) has been out. Frederic has five points, 17 shots on net, 49 hits, 20 PIM and a plus-6 rating over 12 playoff appearances. He'll likely drop back to the third line if Marchand is cleared to play in Friday's Game 6.
-
Jake DeBrusk BOS LW
Bruins' Jake DeBrusk: Provides helper in win
11m agoDeBrusk recorded an assist, five hits and three blocked shots in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Panthers in Game 5.
DeBrusk is warming up on offense with two goals and three assists over five games in the second round. The 27-year-old winger set up a Morgan Geekie tally in the first period. DeBrusk is up to 10 points, 23 shots on net, 47 hits and a minus-4 rating through 12 playoff appearances. He should continue to see top-six minutes, though it appears he's benefiting from a larger role while Brad Marchand (upper body) is unavailable.
-
Charlie Coyle BOS C
Bruins' Charlie Coyle: Slides assist Tuesday
14m agoCoyle notched an assist, eight hits, two blocked shots and two PIM in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Panthers in Game 5.
Coyle set up Charlie McAvoy's second-period tally, which was the game-winner. With three points over five games in the second round, Coyle has surpassed his production from the seven-game first round versus the Maple Leafs. He's still not doing great overall, but he's added 56 hits, 23 blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating to his five points over 12 playoff appearances while holding down a top-six role.
-
Morgan Geekie BOS C
Bruins' Morgan Geekie: Tallies opening goal
16m agoGeekie scored a goal on three shots and added two PIM in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Panthers in Game 5.
The goal was Geekie's second in the last five games, and it gave him four tallies and five points through 12 playoff contests. The 25-year-old has held down a top-six role throughout the postseason, but his contributions tend to be more complementary on offense. He's added 17 shots on net, 27 hits and a plus-2 rating.
-
Charlie McAvoy BOS D
Bruins' Charlie McAvoy: Two points in win
18m agoMcAvoy scored a goal on six shots, dished an assist, blocked four shots, doled out three hits and added two PIM in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Panthers in Game 5.
McAvoy had been held off the scoresheet for seven games entering Tuesday. He helped out on Morgan Geekie's first-period tally before scoring the game-winning goal midway through the second. McAvoy has been limited to six points over 12 playoff outings, but he's added plenty of physicality with 52 hits, 33 blocked shots and 18 PIM. The 26-year-old blueliner continues to play in a top-pairing role.
-
Jeremy Swayman BOS G
Bruins' Jeremy Swayman: Keeps series going
22m agoSwayman stopped 28 of 29 shots in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Panthers in Game 5.
Swayman snapped a three-game losing streak with the effort, which saw him allow the lone goal to Sam Reinhart in the second period. The Bruins still face an uphill battle, but it's likely to be Swayman who will have the chance to keep their season going. He's 6-5 over 11 playoff outings and has allowed two or fewer goals in eight of those contests. Game 6 is Friday in Boston.
